This place still serve drinks outside — The outdoor bar is no longer open, but you are allowed to order drinks and they will bring them to you outside. Enough said — I’ve enjoyed my dinner here. Couple of friends and I ordered some drinks outside while waiting for our table — The view of the river of City Gate was surprisingly peaceful and calming. When we got our table, there are about 8 – 10 set dinner to choose from off the menu. I ordered their lamp chop and here goes my review: The Goods — Flavorful — Juicy — The salad was good(Based on Hk’s salad standard.) The Bads — Lamp chop could have grilled a bit longer to make the surface a bit more crispy. — cream of mushroom was meh. It’s like Campbell cream of mushroom with extra chopped mushrooms on top. Blend the thing and give it a twist man. It’s not that hard to do. :) — DONOTORDERTHEHOUSERED. it’s awful. I still have this a 4 star despite the Bads, since I really love the atmosphere of this place and the food is pretty good given its price range. Will definitely come here again for a happy hour with friends.

This place used to be the Sky Bar so when I went back to drinks I was a little surprised to find out that they do not serve drinks outside. Nonetheless, they allow you to get drinks inside and take them to the outdoor area. And they(surprisingly) did not complain about some in our group bringing drinks from outside. Went back again during the day and they have decently priced lunch sets. The food ranges from below average to above average depending on the dish you choose. One thing to note is the size of their items are pretty large. Not the serving but the ingredients. Environment was also pretty nice and service was pretty good.

Situated on top of Sha Tin Town Hall, la terrazza is a little restaurant café that’s well tucked away from the New Town Plaza crowds. To get there from the town hall, you have to head to your right and walk up a flight of stairs — no worries, there’s a sign that says ‘la terrazza’ so you’ll know it’s the right one. My mother and I were here for lunch today and were glad we did. The set lunches are reasonably priced, ranging between $ 68 to $ 138. We got the spring chicken and the prawn penne to share. The sets come with apple tea — either iced or hot, and a small loaf of bread. We both got the hot apple tea because the restaurant was pretty cold. It’s more fragrant than extremely tasty, but was nice and warm and that was all that mattered. The bread is eaten with olive oil and vinegar, but I didn’t really like the bread as it was kind of hard. Despite that, the main courses were quite stellar. The pasta came first, and the three king prawns were big and succulent and there were even smaller prawns hidden in the pasta. The penne itself was a little hard but still good. I loved the sauce too! The roasted spring chicken was great — the meat was tender and the skin was just the right amount of crispy. We added $ 18 and $ 28 respectively on top of our set lunches to get a coffee and the lemon cheese cake. The coffee was pretty strong and came out very hot, though I would’ve preferred if it was less bitter. The cheesecake had a nice balance between lemon and cheese and was very creamy. We had a little trouble finishing it because we were getting full, and the cake was bigger than expected. On another note, the waiters here aren’t the most attentive people in the world and didn’t clear our finished plates until we asked them to. If you happen to be at New Town Plaza, give the restaurants there a miss and come to la terrazza. It’s much more peaceful and quieter than the restaurants in the mall and the food is not bad and reasonably priced too!

I went to school in Sha Tin every day for almost 13 years, and I never knew there was a garden roof on top of Sha Tin Town Hall. If I did, I would have definitely gone there on the regular, because La Terrazza Bar & Grill is the loveliest little Sha Tin secret.(Or was I the only one in the dark about this place?!) Apparently you should make reservations a few days in advance, but I had no trouble stealing the only free seat, at lunch, on a weekend, with no booking. Boom. Situated on a rooftop garden, you get a strange sense of calm above the hustle and bustle of New Town Plaza’s hoard of weekend shoppers. The lunch menu is great value for money. Opting for the lunch set gives you a cup of hot or iced apple tea(Do not underestimate this drink! It’s delicious.), a cute little loaf with ‘la terrazza’ branded on top, and a main of your choice. I tried the prawn penne with three huge grilled prawns, whilst A opted for the roasted spring chicken. Being a bit of a rotisserie fanatic, I was pleasantly surprised by the juiciness of the little chicken. We added an extra $ 15 for a creamy bowl of mushroom soup, and also went for a Cesar salad with salmon and crabmeat for $ 150~ to be shared between 2 or 3 people. These two items were fine, but nothing that sent us raving. This is a great place to go if you’ve been shopping the whole day, and just need an hour of R&R before you hit Zara for that super sale.
