Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls-Fallsview

It was fabulous, except the water park, all kinds of people in towels and the elevator packed with them. Other than that. It was a clean room, comfortable beds. I had a great view of the falls from my room.

Travelled 28 hours from Australia and were so pleased this was our final destination. Our airline has lost luggage and the staff were extremely accommodating with all our requests and questions. We were in a double falls view room, beds were extremely comfortable and there was enough space for my Mum and I to not feel like we were living on top of each other. Free wifi with our room and WeGo bus passes were great seeing as we did not pay a huge amount for the 3 nights there! Room was always toasty warm and we were able to dry out some hand washed clothes very easily. Only downside was there not being a fan in the bathroom but all in all a great experience; would recommend to anyone!

Things didn’t start out so well when we got here. We found that our room reservations were not what we expected. The hotel was booked and there was not much that could be done. The man helping us, Rachit was able to make our accommodations somewhat better for the first night and way better for the second night.
It means a lot when an employee goes out of their way to make sure the customer is made happy.
Rachit is a definite asset to the Crown Plaza.

Paid for a double falls view room. Technically speaking, yes, I could see both falls, but not much of a view, really. Then there’s the heat. Despite the outdoor temp being in the 20’s (F), the room felt like it was in the 80s. I turned the thermostat down to 60, didn’t help. Thankfully, you can actually open the window. The rooms are small, the beds are small. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Is my first time in CANADA but look like will be the last one we book in this apparently great but is just «Bulls Shit» no AC in the room, dirty, smell like hell so small and very, very expensive $$$$ very bad combination if they not resolved nothing tonight I swear God tomorrow morning I’m out and back home I’m not going to pay to be torturous

The location was the best part of this hotel it was in the heart of everything. It was located in like the times square of Canada everything you wanted to do, see or eat was literally walking distance from this hotel and on top of that if you wanted to go to a water park or pool it was in the same building. The staff were very polite and friendly basically everyone you ran into said hello and told you to have a good day. Yes the rooms were expensive and super tiny (seriously I don’t know how a larger person would have used the bathroom since I’m pretty small and had a hard time squeezing in between the wall and the sink where the toilet bowl was wedged into)! But who spends time in their room anyway while on vacation? Also we got upgraded to a room with a view, by the really nice check in guy, but when we got upstairs their really wasn’t much of a view! But who’s complaining when you got the slight view for free… not me! So all in all I would recommend this hotel if you have the funds (be prepared to pay $ 25 dollars a day for parking and beware we got two dings and awful scratches on each side of our car from the garage), the rooms, hallways and pool were all kept clean and you can’t beat the location.

The location is great, but that’s about it. I’m sure this hotel was nice once, but now it’s dated. Even after a cheap faux-​luxury renovation, it doesn’t hold up to other Niagara hotels.
We switched rooms a few times and settled for a pool view. The other option was next to a loud AC cooling tower … The pool ended up being just as loud. It wasn’t the pool that woke me up shortly after dawn though, it was the cleaning service. The room might as well not be a door, because it is not soundproof at all. I can even hear people whispering in the halls! Needless to say, I didn’t get much sleep here.
One of the worst parts was the bathroom. We had an accessible room with a standup shower. The shower head kept moving down the pole it was mounted on, so no one over the height of 4-​feet could shower comfortably. Plus it’s impossible to keep the whole floor from getting soaked, without creating a barrier of towels between the shower and the rest of the bathroom.
The bathroom was also dirty! The shower had dark black mildew/​mould in the tiles. There is also no exhaust fan, so everything gets damp when you shower. The tile floor becomes a slip-​n-​slide.
The worst part is the rate. I have had substantially better rooms for much less than what I paid here. On top of that, they overcharge for everything. Parking is extra. Water is $ 10. Even the Starbucks in the lobby has special rates set by the hotel, and they are nearly double what you would expect to pay for anything at Starbucks.
I won’t be returning here any time soon. I highly recommend you check out one of the newer hotels around.

Bad experience all round. I booked 3 nights at this hotel because my daughter was performing performing in a dance competition there. Aside from the room smelling, and the windows of the room that looked onto the indoor pool deck (I had to keep the curtains closed the entire stay) and the indifferent and unhelpful staff; my biggest problem was with the additional «PF» or promotion fee charge. It seems that everything in the fallsview complex is subject to this fee, down to the coffee and candy. This is a voulantry fee which you are not obliged to pay, however no stores/​hotels/​restaurants inform you of this.
When we went to buy passes for the water park from hotel reception we questioned the additional fee. The girl at reception told us that it was a mandatory fee (yes she outright lied).
When it came time to check out I refused to pay the additional PF fee on my room charge and the said there was nothing they could do since the manager was conveniently off at the time the gave me his work number (must be the only person in Canada without a mobile phone). I left a message and sent an email, 8 hours later I have heard nothing.
If they charge my credit card I will be reporting them to the police for theft.
I will never stay at this hotel again.
As a side note we had friends who stayed in the Sheraton who encountered a similar problem, Sheraton took the fees off their bill.

Amazing! We got a suite and it was amazing, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a living room.
Room service came every day and left typical stuff like towels and shampoo etc, a ton of clean towels and even some water bottles which was a very thoughtful touch. The bellhop was friendly and awesome, put our stuff in a locked room before we could go to our room so we could go to the waterpark.
We had the pool area (not waterpark) totally to ourselves and loved it.
Will definetly come again.

My boyfriend and I recently visited Niagara Falls and stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Ontario, Canada for 2 nights. We enjoyed the stay — the hotel was clean, VERY convenient to the Falls (literally just a 5-​minute walk to the observation area for the Falls from the Canadian side, and a 30-​minute walk over the bridge to the NY side), close to plenty of restaurants, and had a wonderful restaurant of its own with an incredible dinner view of the Falls (the Rainbow Room by Massimo Capra, which I will review separately).
The downsides to the hotel — somewhat rude service by a few different people, VERY SMALL room! (we had trouble walking around or finding a place to put our bags), they have a waterpark on the top level (very annoying and unnecessary), parking in their lot was a pain (and if you don’t get reimbursed, you could pay up to $ 20 a day for parking there), and their Starbucks was awful. Also, on our last day, we were trapped in the elevator. Yes, TRAPPED. That was the first time that had ever happened to me. We had to push the emergency button and they took about 10 minutes to get us. That was quite scary. It turned out that they had planned to stop the elevator to use it as freight, but they forgot to make it non-​operational on the guest side… sort of a big oversight. That was a scary few minutes.
On the whole, I give this place 3 stars. And I would still consider staying there in the future, given the convenience and that it wasn’t awful overall.
One cool fact about this place is that Marilyn Monroe stayed there while filming the movie «Niagara.» They even have a champagne named after her in the Rainbow Room (which I naturally ordered!).

Our falls view room was very large, had a great view, and was reasonably modern. There were mirrors everywhere for honeymooners if you know what I mean! Some of the bathroom repairs were shoddy. And the hotel lacks conveniences of other high-​end hotels in resort destinations. They did provide free WiFi, but charged for parking.

It’s an Old Hotel
The hotel is in a perfect place — with a view from our King Superior View room on the 12^th floor that allowed us to see the American Falls, Horseshoe Falls, and the Rainbow Bridge. The floor-​to-​ceiling windows were great. The furniture was partially new, partially a bit worn. The wallpaper needs to go.
But it’s an old hotel. The room was tiny for a King room. We had to shove furniture around to walk around the bed. The bathroom had no counter space at all, and nowhere to hang towels except the shower curtain rod. You couldn’t open the room door and bathroom door at the same time. And the elevators were always slow and full — and the 11^th and 12^th floors had to take the modern elevator to the 9^th floor and change to the very old «Tower of Terror» style elevator. The air conditioning was old and not particularly strong — the room warmed up every day. And the A/​C was broken the first night until about 12:30am.
The location is good, and in walking distance to many attractions. There are packages that include discounts or vouchers for some attractions. There is also a $ 9.95CDN «Resort Fee» charged even though the hotel provides no resort amenities in the room fee, or on the premises.
My wife and I stayed for 2 nights for a vacation.
The attached restaurant was very good for the one dinner that we ate there, though the food was not in a flavor palate that my wife or I preferred. The waiter was obsequious to just short of the point of being pretentious.
To be honest, I’d rather have stayed in one of the more modern hotels, even if it was outside of my IHG membership.
Service was good, and we were given a free bottle of wine as part of our membership.

An older hotel compared to others especially closer to the Fallview strip, but it does have a nice little historical feel to it. Nice big chandelier hangs in the lobby and concierges by the elevators calling and holding the elevators certainly adds to that old classic atmosphere. We got a Fallsview room and the view was pretty amazing with views of both the Canadian and American Falls. You also can’t beat the location as it is right by the Falls, a nice garden right across the street, two Starbucks minutes from the hotel; and it’s also minutes away from the Clifton Hill. The Rainbow Room by Massimo Capra Restaurant is located onsite on the 10^th floor as a dining option as well. Self parking is $ 20 for the day; which is pretty on par with other hotels in the area — but the plus side is that you can park for 24 hours, and it also gives you in/​out privileges.
The rooms themselves are showing their age a bit both in terms of the décor and facilities. Paint/​wallpaper peeling can be seen, and the plumbing wasn’t the best and also slightly loud inside the room and can be heard when neighbouring room is turning on their taps as well. The bed however was rather comfortable.
I was there with the intention of proposing to my girlfriend (now fiancée!), and they made sure I got a higher floor room with a nice view. Upon arrival, they also called the restaurant on my behalf to ensure my dinner reservation was all set and that I would be seated by the window with a great view of the Falls. I arranged for some flowers to be delivered to the hotel; and they went out of their way to ensure everything was ok, kept everything a surprise and delivered the flowers up to the room while we were out so that when we returned to the room after my proposal the flowers were waiting for her as the last surprise of the evening.
So overall while the hotel itself may not be as bright and shiny as some of the newer ones in the Niagara Falls area; the convenience of location, price, and more importantly service justifies my 4 stars rating.

Stayed here for a 2-​day convention. Hotel clerks were very nice and helpful. Room was on the smaller side but I was only there to sleep not have guests, entertain etc… so room was good enough for me to crash. Shower was clean, sufficient water pressure and hot enough. Convenience to Hard Rock Café, other venues and 3 minute walk to Clifton Hill where the best attractions are found in the Falls!
I would recommend this hotel. Do NOT expect a great window view if you don’t want to pay the extra money!

Best stay ever in a Crowne Plaza, was sweet and nice to the check in young lady and upgraded us to a suite with falls view, with whirl pool. It was a thursday night and not full, ended up staying 2^nd night, had to change rooms, but still worth the it. Bar was closing when we checked in and we had a bottle of wine to go. Great location, and worth the money…

Great location! Our room had an awesome view of the falls and we really have no complaints. If you are a Marilyn Monroe fan request room 801, she stayed there!

Lobby/​Check In.
I came here when my bf already checked in, so I was able to go straight to the room. Walking into this hotel is to walk back in time — think of what Niagara Falls would have been like in the 1920’s (which is when this hotel was built I believe). It has rich carpeting, a golden spiral staircase, large golden-​framed paintings — imagine a scene of wealthy people from the movie Titanic staying here (and Rose and Jack in the coach/​carriage house…)
Anywhoo, the lobby certainly has a picturesque charm.
Room Number 812.
Before I arrived to the hotel, my bf warned me that the room was very small, but functional. I don’t know what I was expecting, but yes, the room was small. I initially thought it was due to the price we were paying — through my work, I got a daily rate of $ 99. But, from reading other reviews, it does appear that most rooms are small due to how old the hotel is.
This room had a bit of a musty smell to it, but we were able to open the windows (we had a view of the Falls). TV, chair, and a desk for you to work. No mini-​bar or safe.
The bathroom is very tiny and I swear I wasn’t drunk, but the toilet seat was slanted so that every time I sat to do my business, I felt as if I was going to slide off… The bathroom includes toiletries and I was hesitant to try them at first, but it does smell nice. They have a stand-​alone hairdryer and lots of towels.
Noise-​Level.
HORRIBLE! Every time someone flushed, you could hear the water running through the walls. The walls were in fact so thin that I could hear people talking outside the hallways and «banging» sounds coming through the next room (I will leave it up to you to determine what those noises were…)
Extras.
This hotel is centrally located. It is connected to the Sheraton hotel (you don’t have to walk outside) and above the hotel is the Water Park. If you are a Priority Member, you get access to free Wi-​Fi. We used my bf’s Priority number (basic level) and he already got free Wi-​Fi, so I encourage all to sign up for the rewards program.
There is parking, but we had to pay for that. Rate is $ 20/​night.
The Crowne Plaza itself does not have a spa, but the closest one is at the Sheraton (Christienne Fallsview Spa). Any spa services can be charged to your Crowne Plaza room as the owners are the same (Sheraton, but not the Fallsview one; Crowne Plaza; Skyline Hotel).
Newspaper delivered daily (Globe and Mail).
Complimentary two bottles of water
Conclusion.
The location itself is the reason for my rating. You just can’t beat it as it’s right near the falls and close to all the fun stuff (Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, Haunted House activities, IMAX, etc… and it also is directly in front of one of the border crossings into the States).
Other than that, there is nothing special about this hotel. I get that these hotels are not meant for you to lounge and leisure as I am sure they want you out in the casino’s…gambling your life away. But for me and my bf, there were moments when we just wanted to lounge in the room (aka, watch Game of Thrones and drink). The room was not comfortable and it just made you want to go out.
Also, because the hotel is so big, and there are so many people coming and going, I didn’t feel any special (I am a Priority member, but the reservation was not under my number and I am not a big gambler so…) However, for $ 99 at a discounted rate and free WiFi, plus the convenient location, I am not going to complain. This hotel would not be my first choice, if it weren’t for the fact that it offered me the cheapest rate.
FYI: This hotel is part if the IHG hotel group which owns the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn chains. It does not cost you anything to sign up so I would highly encourage it. As mentioned, with just being a basic member at this Crowne Plaza, we were able to get free WiFi. Also, we were able to get late checkout until 2pm with no additional charge.

The oldest hotel in Niagara, beautiful lobby, good service prior to arriving, and efficient price for a two bedroom suite.
The positives is the parking is easy, your right across from the Falls and the heartbeat of the tourist area, easy access to Hershey’s, The Coke Store, great restaurants, water slides, parks and much more!
A few negatives below:
–The heating in our bedroom did not work, but worked in the living room and second bedroom
–The fireplace did not work
–The rooms were very outdated
–I saw and Ant on the floor
–Internet Costs extra
With that being said we would consider staying again but would check out other options.

We were upgraded to a room with a *gorgeous* view of the Falls, and that made all the difference. The room was lovely, the hotel is pretty and historical and has easy access to (touristy) food and attractions. If I were visiting Niagara again, I would stay here.

Got a great deal off Groupon so I figured to have a little Friday night getaway.
It’s an old hotel and we knew this going in. The rooms were small, as were the windows. Now we get to the good stuff. We got spa and dining credits as part of the deal. The Spa was amazing (located in the attached Sheraton), especially at night. From there, it was on to the Rainbow Room. We both came away happy.
