History

Established in 2000.

The first guests to Niagara Falls probably would have stayed at the Clifton House, the first luxury hotel in the area. Considered a summer hotel, it quickly gained notoriety as a host of concerts, events, and during the closing years of the American Civil War, Confederate Agents stationed in Canada often held meetings at the house. It’s superb location at the base of Clifton Hill, and steps from the Falls, would years later become the home of the Sheraton on the Falls Hotel.

The Clifton House was destroyed by fire in 1898 and was rebuilt in 1905 as the Clifton Hotel, which would share the same fate.

In 1966 the hotel opened as the Sheraton Foxhead Inn. The 14 storey hotel expanded in 2000 to become the 22 storey 4-Diamond Sheraton on the Falls Hotel. Recent updates include the addition of the 4-Diamond Award winning restaurant Windows by Jamie Kennedy, renovation/expansion of Christienne Fallsview Spa & the development of the 20 acre Falls Avenue Resort.

Location: Great a block from the falls, convenient access to local transportation
Customer Service: Excellent, friendly, attentive and courteous.
Rooms: Dingy, musty, and need of updating.
Hotel staff was excellent. The only thing that I found disappointing was the room. It was in serious need of updating. We had a «view» of the city. My view was a building which appeared to be a motel. This was horrible. I have stayed at other Sheraton and this was far from what I expected. Try to stay on the falls view side if possible or if you pay for city view make sure its actually the city view.

It’s all about the views and the convenience! Located right infront of the falls for spectacular views. I had no complaints waking up to beautiful views and sounds of the falls, the views are just as impressive at night as you can scope on the night shows while sitting infront of coming fireplace with some nice company :). Anyhow the huge windows make this 4 stars for me. The suite felt spacious, clean, comfy, had a fireplace and jacuzzi. The room did feel out of date but not to the point where it would feel like a motel lol. The club lounge was okay, I really wasnt impressed with the breakfast, it was lacking. What was impressive about the club lounge was modern style and furniture which is always nice. The pool was great definitely loved the view of the falls welcome and the view of the falls is the selling part of this hotel.
I definitely would come back but you need to keep in mind this hotel is all about the location (casino, shopping, and entertainment are all on walking distance) and the most importantly the views… make sure you get a room with views of the falls.

Went for spring break with my teenage daughter (14) I opted for the corner suite Fallsview it was worth every pretty penny!
It’s features are exactly what pictured on the website. Simply breathtaking views from every room of the suite. Including the bathroom. Sliding glass doors that actually open so you can actually hear the falls. Panoramic ceiling to floor windows, even a complete walkout balcony. The check in was smooth & daily room service made our beds, refreshed linens, and left little Canadian chocolates & water.

Amazing View!!! We stayed in an upper level King jacuzzi room (def paid for it!) but the view couldn’t be better! I was scared we would be disappointed by the view because all the pictures on their website looked fake. Granite the pictures did look better on their website but we were satisfied with what we got. The room could have been cleaner, my son is 9 months and he found a champagne cork that he was chewing on off the floor as well as a little red pill of some sort. After he discovered that I checked the floor carefully and found a piece of broken glass! There was also a carton of milk that was left in the fridge. I guess they didn’t throughly clean! Other than that the staff was extremely nice. It does cost 39 dollars a night to park because they only have valet. The wine in the bar downstairs had a good selection and the view was mediocre.

Food: Amazing buffet! Try the waffles at breakfast. They’re to die for: O! My only concern is that the dinner buffet only has 2 – 3 actual vegetarian items :(Rainforest café is extraordinary! It feels like you’re actually in a rainforest and the food is pretty awesome as well.
Hotel: Service is excellent and the rooms are all nice and clean. My only concern is that we paid about $ 100 extra for a room with a view of the falls, but their was a big tree in blocking the view :/. Oh well :). The arcade is huge and we easily spent 2 hours every day of our stay.
Overall, Sheraton was an amazing experience and I would definitely stay there again!

I booked the hotel via Expedia and it came out to be about 95 USD per night. It’s a very nice hotel and consider a resort. I stayed on 3^rd floor (conference level) and has amazing view of the fall as shown on picture. Every staff was very nice and courteous. However, I find people in Canada to be a little unfriendly. walking onto you and don’t pardon themselves.
Good
~ nice room with two queen beds, white sheets and feathered pillows (4 for each bed).
~ complimentary StarBucks coffee, free WIFI, 40 inch TV (okay, not that clear), free phone (US and Canada, local and long distance); 2 bottles of water
~ maid service time slots given for your convenience.
Bad
~ Parking: you pay 25 CAD (self park) or 50 CAD valet
~ Resort fee is 12.95 CAD and it provides complimentary benefits (see above)
~ I didn’t have a sign for maid service and maid service comes into a clean room because I decided to stay at Sheraton (in Toronto, last minute) and my book bag which contains Mac Computer was found opened. When I left the room, my bagpack was closed. Nothing appears to have been taken…(hmmmm…)
On a side note, 12.95 CAD is a very fair price for all the above amenities and other that was listed which I don’t remember. If you purchase tall grande hazelnut coffee at Starbuck in lobby, it’s over 5 CAD, approx 3.85 USD.

Breath-taking views. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great packages available. The complimentary WEGO card was a nice bonus for making our way around town. This is an awesome location for getting to some of the main tourist spots as well as many great restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. Very enjoyable stay.

Our stay at the Sheraton was pretty good. I booked through groupon so we got a lot of dining and winery vouchers, plus a complementary bottle of wine each day. Checkin process was surprisingly simple. Navigating from the parking garage to the actual hotel is tricky, as you walk through tons of lobbies for restaurants and a food court and an arcade, plus switch elevators twice. You truly can’t beat the view of both falls if you have a falls view room. We were on the 22^nd floor, top floor with guest rooms. Unfortunately, we were right across from the elevators which was noisy at night with belligerent guests getting to their rooms after the casino. But we were so tired from our own excursions around Niagara It wasn’t too bad. Our room was supposed to have a fireplace and sitting area, or so I thought, and no jacuzzi tub. It was opposite, no fireplace and there was a jacuzzi tub. I don’t know if the hotel or groupon was at fault for that mix up. The dining in the hotel was pretty good overall with tons of options, which is nice for a winter visit when you don’t particularly want to be journeying outside in the cold. We ate at Windows one evening and I would highly recommend it for an elegant dinner. The breakfast buffet on the other hand was pretty sub par. It was «on special» this weekend for $ 20 a person and it certainly wasn’t anything special, and I know I didn’t eat $ 20 worth. They really sold it at checkin and I wish we hadn’t gone for it, we could’ve gotten better stuff on our own elsewhere. You also can’t beat the location to things in general, short walk across the street to the falls sidewalk and right there on the main strip of restaurants, gift shops, and many other attractions. Definitely a family friendly place, though we were on more of a relaxed romantic trip ourselves. Lots of kids running around unsupervised and knocking into you, but that’s parents trying to have their own vacation I guess. I’d recommend this hotel for its ideal location and convenience to everything.

I attended a conference at Niagara in January. Accommodations included a Fallsview suite which came with a view of the falls. The view was amazing — we saw fireworks the Friday we were there. The beds were comfy and the room itself was large, clean and had well-maintained furniture. We even had a pull out couch. Our stay was wonderful! Room service took a while, but house keeping was very accommodating and worked around our schedule since we were bustling in and out between breaks. One thing to note is that they are very serious about noise complaints. There is only a 1-warning policy before they ask you to pack your bags. Fortunately, no one got kicked out during our stay but don’t press your luck.
I didn’t check out their facilities much but they are connected to a smaller casino, an arcade for the children, and an adjoining plaza with a pizza hut, subway, and KFC. However, you’ll find that it’s right on the Falls and so close to the eateries at Clifton Hills (not even a 5-minute walk). Be sure to take advantage of the offers that come with the room fee because you end up paying for it regardless. They include things such as brewery beer tastings, a hershey’s kiss photo, wego bus passes for 1 ride, and other things.

Mis-charging customers parking secretly despite my blatantly stating I was NOT parking on the day of arrival. Also, misinformed me regarding cost of the breakfast. When I called to complain about the charge for erroneous charge on parking, the «manager» named Danielle F. was rude and accused me of lying and it was my fault I was charged for parking. She stated «We charge all customers for parking regardless of whether they park. It is the customers responsibility to tell us they are not parking.» On the way down the elevator, I overheard 2 other customers charged wrongly on their bills for other reasons.
This is a clearly dishonest hotel that cheats customers.

Came here February with my boyfriend for a weekend. It looks like this area is much quieter this time a year compared to summer but we had a great time anyway.
I have stayed a several sheratons in the past but this one is by far the best. The view of the falls from our room on the 6^th floor were to die for!!! The hotel must have been renovated recently because the room we were in was super new and clean especially compared to other Unilocalers photos. Best bathroom/shower I’ve ever had with such high pressure shower head in super clean bathroom.

I had an amazing time at Sheraton On the Falls Hotel, with great views of Niagara Falls in two different rooms I stayed in. The first night was booked on hotwire, but as you might be aware, that rate will not get you a view of the falls. I upgraded to a fallsview room with breakfast for almost the price paid on hotwire. Add the parking for an additional $ 25. For amazing views of the American and Canadian falls at this hotel will probably set you back a good amount of money, but hey, the experience is all worth it.
Our first room had a small balcony which displayed a panoramic view of both falls. Though the weather was cold, the air was fresh, and we kept our outside door open almost the entire time.
The second room we booked on hotel tonight and were upgraded complimentary due to shortage of rooms. This room was in the garden area which gave an interesting view of Niagara in the fall and pieces of the Niagara Falls area skyline. This room had additional amenities like a fireplace and TV in the bathroom.
Breakfast was great and worth the additional money.
We stayed in 3 hotels during our stay. The Sheraton gave a great deal and great views for the first two days or our stay at Niagara Falls. It is also located in a very convenient and touristy part of town, next to Niagara Falls’ fun street. It was a nice starter hotel to begin our trip at Niagara Falls, but could well be a great primary hotel for anyone during their stay in the area.

Stayed here on a trip through Ontario headed towards the Hudson Valley in New York. I booked online a month before to take advantage of the good off-season advance booking rates in the fall (and the favorable USD — CAD exchange rate — if you’re American, that is).
First off, the location. When you’re staying in the vicinity of Niagara Falls, you have two choices to make. First off — American or Canadian side. Unless there’s a compelling reason why you shouldn’t cross the border, pick Ontario. Second, fallsview or «near the falls.» You can save some money by staying farther away, but if you want the full experience, you should book a room overlooking at least one of the falls.
Check-in was easy, and everyone at the front desk was very courteous. The bellhop gave me tons of great advice on what to do in and around the town. I arrived at my room on the 17^th floor and was greeted by an impressive view of *both* the American and Canadian falls. The room had floor-to-ceiling windows, and a door that opened for me to snap some great pictures of the falls. If you’re the type who needs a little noise and cool air to get to sleep, leave that thing open!
This Sheraton is considered a resort, and for better or for worse, you’re in a tourist trap town. Hidden fees and unexpected expenses are part of the game. Here’s a tip: price Valet parking is expensive here, but the convenience of not having to find parking for your car in such a busy, congested little town is worth it. If you choose to eat on premises — either at the buffet or at Windows (the restaurant) — expect to shell out $ 100+ for meals and drinks for two.
Check-out in the morning was similarly easy, and the valet had our car within a few minutes. Getting out to the United States via the Rainbow Bridge was quick — you’re literally right on top of it. The next time I head through Niagara Falls, I’ll stay here again.

There was mould in the shower, toothpaste spit streaks down the bathroom counter, and grimy handprints on the furniture and walls. Not clean. We had a terrible night’s sleep due to the obnoxious men screaming «casino! Casino» outside our door and war whooping and generally being douche-y. I was afraid to open the door, not a safe environment, and it continued to 3am. I wrote a letter to the hotel to tell them and a week later they asked what location so I told them, then about three weeks later they wrote back and said they couldn’t find my reservation. Not helpful.

I recently stayed at the Sheraton On The Falls Hotel and it was a phenomenal experience.
We were pleasantly surprised it was literally right in front of the American Falls and at the foot of the Clifton Hills road, right at the place where the action was.
We booked a room with a balcony on the 18^th floor and the view was spectacular and breathtaking, we could hear the lullaby sound of the waterfalls, unfortunately we could not leave the balcony open at night, there were too many bugs flying in.
I love all the shops they had right in the hotel lobby, in fact I did my best shopping right there, they had a tremendous clearance section with a huge assortment of clothing at 50% off.
The buffet at the Fallsview restaurant was a disaster, service was slow and the food was perhaps 3 stars at best, it sure was not worth $ 25 but the view was great both form the table and out in the balcony.
I still would have rated this amazing hotel 5 stars but for the fact that one guy at the concierge was not so friendly and did not know when the fireworks would go on, because of this we missed this once in a lifetime spectacular fireworks over the Niagara Falls, at least we did see the illuminations on the Niagara falls and it was an experience not to be missed! So all in all 4 stars is still a good rating.
I would stay at the Sheraton on the Falls again if we come back here and it looks like we would just to see the fireworks!

Our experience at the Sheraton on the Falls was a mixed bag. We had booked a deluxe room with two queens on a high floor with a view of the falls. When we checked in, they informed us that they didn’t have any of those rooms but were upgrading us to a bi-level suite on the top floor with a view of Horseshoe Falls. It sounded great until we opened the door to the room. Yes, it was a bi-level suite but unless you stood at the small window by the stairs to the second floor, there wasn’t a view of the falls. I’ve stayed in plenty of luxury hotels and this was not one of them so even though the room was large, it wasn’t all that inspiring and the sole reason I booked the room I did was for a great view of the falls. You even are charged a resort fee of $ 12.95 that provided little if no value to us. It essentially meant paying for wi-fi that was shockingly slow.
I went back to the front desk and they were gracious enough to offer to switch our room the next day to what we booked and provide us free breakfast. We used the free breakfast and while the buffet was fairly expansive, the quality of the food was mediocre at best. The staff at the restaurant certainly earns their pay since they were understaffed and overworked, racing around to handle the mass of people.
While the hotel moved all of our luggage, the room wasn’t ready until 4PM so we essentially got a few hours of what was a great view in a nice room. Not exactly the experience I had planned for our two nights.
The hotel was very crowded and while no surprise once you encounter all the crowds in Niagara Falls, it was a lot more crowded than what I typically enjoy. The line to the front desk was always crowded and it was quite a hassle to wait for 20 minutes in the early afternoon after being at the falls just to see if our new room was ready.
We valet parked since we were not going to drive and wanted a few things from our car. Rather than have the valet pull it around only for us to take out a few items, we got the location and keys and went to get the items out ourselves. However, we were a bit taken aback as another valet interrogated us quite aggressively about what we were doing at the car. While I can understand them checking on someone at a car in a valet only area, the tone and manner with a family of five could have been a lot more hospitable.
Outside of the nice view from the room and the very convenient location a few minutes from the walkway along the river and falls, I wouldn’t recommend this Sheraton. It is way too crowded, a bit dated, especially the common areas and the hallways and over-priced. If it didn’t have views of Niagara Falls, it would be a below average hotel with not much going for it. While the view from our room was wonderful, our limited time being able to experience it due to the hotel snafu coupled with my other comments left us with an experience here that just didn’t match our expectations nor the price we paid.

Let’s be honest. The bar for success in Niagara Falls is pretty low.
If you don’t get scabies from the hotel room or shanked in the neck by a biker you can generally consider it to be a relatively good trip. So by that measure, the Sheraton On The Falls gets a shining endorsement. The walls seemed upright and the place didn’t cascade into the Niagara gorge below.
But let’s dig a bit deeper.
This is a property that has the audacity to charge a $ 10 «Resort Fee» to all guests. I can’t figure out the rationale. Being connected to an abandoned Hard Rock Café does not a ‘resort’ make. While I appreciate your extra amenities like «available fire alarm» and «free tiny shampoo», I still remain unconvinced that this is actually a resort.
Sure, this was once the ‘Honeymoon Capital of the World’, but those honeymooners eventually spawned great-grandchildren all of whom seemingly decided at once to flock to the cauldron-of-urine that is the indoor waterpark connected by convenient walkway to this Sheraton. The stench of chlorine stings the senses at every turn. If you had a black light, you could spend hours tracing the labyrinth of mucus trail that stems from the waterpark, yet encircles every square inch of the property. It makes you want to throw all of your clothing into the switch-operated faux fireplace and fill the in-room jacuzzi with Purell.
It’s truly a feast for all of the senses. At 3am there is the nightly march of the drunken-teenagers-from-oakville, pounding on doors, spewing bile and embracing their inner frat boy. At some point in the night, you start having uncontrollable dreams where you hurl yourself into the Falls from your room just to make it stop. Thankfully your resort fee covers a safety barrier affixed to every open window. Just in case.
It’s not all bad news. The hotel has all the faceless furnishings that bring you back to this trusted brand and make you briefly, for a moment, forget where you actually are.
Remember, you’re at the bottom of Clifton Hill. The only place to go from here is up.

WARNING. Do not be fooled by the pictures of this hotel on TripAdvisor. This hotel is soooo dated and old (relative to the price and reviews/pictures).
Yes, the location is good since it’s close to everything in Niagara Falls and it’s on the bottom of Clifton Hill. (Side note: There’s nothing to do/no good food on Clifton Hill, at least IMO.) We arrived at 9:30pm and almost everything was closed… at 9:30pm??? Is it because I live in NYC? The only restaurant that was open was the Hard Rock (food was horrible, BTW).
On first impression, the check in guy was a dick. He said to me, «Yeah, I can help you out with an upgrade! Pay $ 15.»
Room: We only had one night stand. What??? That’s so weird!!! All the furniture in the room was oddly placed. The bed was placed on the side where the door is. Like the door is on the left side of the room and that’s where the bed was, instead of putting the head of the bed on the right side, if that makes sense. The bathroom is so awkward too. If you open the door all the way, you’re blocking the sink a little. Also, the shower was dirty!
I wish I took some pics of the room but I just wanted to get out as soon as possible. I do not recommend this hotel at all. Don’t be fooled. =\

Ca vous évitera de vous retrouver au Front Desk à chercher despéremment votre réservation quand elle a été faite à l’autre hôtel (qui appartient à la même famille pour ceux que ça intéresse!).
Ce qui fait l’intérêt de cet hotel, c’est clairement la vue sur les chutes, très impressionnante et complètement dégagée. En prenant une chambre dans un des derniers étages (disons au 17ème) la photo n’en sera que meilleure!
Le restaurant du Sheraton est également vivement recommandé. La liste des vins est riche, et les prix sont très raisonnables. Côté cuisine, c’était un sans faute. La salade de pousses d’épinard et d’effiloché de confit de canard était parfaitement assaisonnée. Les Saint Jacques délicieuses, fondantes et mises en valeur par un dressage très raffiné. Même le plateau de fromages locaux mérite de trouver un peu de place en fin de repas. Accompagnés de petites tranches de pain croquant, d’une purée de Cranberries et de quelques fruits secs ils sont bien à leur aise, comme nous après ce diner!
