Excellente halte de 4 h pour y goûter avec des gaufres au chocolat et aussi des chocolats à la mousse de lait avec le choc en chocolat noir que l’on fait fondre en remuant.

Pol Depla Chocolatier offers a large variety of chocolates in a contemporary boutique. They are praised as the oldest artisanal chocolatier in Brugge where locals buy their chocolates. I favored their dark chocolate pralines over the milk or white chocolates. The standouts were the cerisettes in dark chocolate filled with cointreau liquor. Wow, they do not skimp on the cointreau which kinda surprised me when I asked for a sample at the store. Speaking of surprise, they have a chocolate aptly called «Surprise» and it sure lives up to the name (I won’t spoil the surprise).
The young lady who helped us was outstanding. She was by herself yet she didn’t rush to finish mine and my friend’s orders which included wrapping 5 – 250 gram boxes before helping the next customer in line. She politely answered our questions regarding the various pralines which is a good representation of this establishment. In the back, they have a display of pre-​packaged gift boxes to go.
Pol Depla is on Mariastraat less than 5 minutes from Simon Stevinplein and less than 10 min walk from the Grote Markt.

As you peruse the streets of Brugge it’s clear food, beer and chocolate is abundant. Beautiful chocolates displayed in the window fronts draws you in. Once inside, the aroma of pure decadence captures your sense of smell which caused my stomach to growl. I chose several dark chocolate pieces and the chocolate covered marshmallow. Every piece was amazing but I was delightfully surprised by the layer of graham cracker under the marshmallow. For those of you who love making s’mores this is the piece for you. It’s tasty without a fire or mess. We will be back for more before we head to our next destination!

Wer gerne Mellow Cakes mag, für den ist dieser Laden Pflicht! Sehr zu empfehlen ist zudem die schokolierte und kandierte Orangenschale. Wer nach Brügge kommt und dann bei Leonidas oder Godiva shoppt, sollte direkt der Stadt verwiesen werden!

Wir waren hier Schokolade kaufen auf Empfehlung einer der Mitarbeiterinnen im LOTUS-​Restaurant. Sie empfahl es uns als eins der drei Chokolatieren, die selber herstellen. Und wir waren sehr begeistert. Der Laden in der Mariastraat besteht aus zwei langgezogenen Räumen. Im einen gibt es Eiscrème, die selber hergestellt wird, nebenan gibt es Pralinen und sonstige Schokoleckereien. Im Hintergrund sieht man die Leute, die die Pralinen herstellen und per Hand verpacken. Sehr hübsch anzusehen.
Preislich liegt es zwar über den meisten Touri-​Spots, aber ganz im Ernst: Wer muss schon 1 Kilogramm Schokolade kaufen? Wir haben 170 gramm Pralinen und Schokobruch etc. mitgenommen, uns echt nicht zurückgehalten und sind sehr glücklich. Außerdem gab es noch eine Packung Pralinen für vier Euro und Schokoreispuffer. Insgesamt haben wir so um die 20 Euro bezahlt.
