Eetcafé De Vuyst

Entweder bei gutem Wetter draußen sitzen oder drinnen die sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre genießen. Es brennen zwei offene Kamine und alte Zeitungen an den Wänden bilden die Tapete. Der Service und das essen sind gut und reichlich. Auch die kindergerichte sind ausreichend groß.

Dropped in for lunch during a visit a couple of months ago and ordered a witte wijn and a Ceasar salad. Have to admit, we were a little hungover from tasting Belgian beers the night before (can tend to make a person a little crabby), so we were quite anxious to get some sustenance and it did not really come fast enough. Yes the place was busy and yes, we were tourists, but quicker service would’ve been nice.
So the food — was decent. Not great, not terrible, but good. If I’d known it would come so slowly, I would’ve ordered A LOT more of it. Seems that they do the standard mussels in Brugge thing, but I wasn’t in to that. Husband liked the lasagna he ordered very much, and appreciated that it wasn’t the typical tomato-​meat sauce on noodles variety. It was creamy in a wonderfully Belgian way.
After lunch, we decided to skip the coffee and go somewhere else because of the slow service. Not ideal, but in Brugge you get so many choices that it was fine. Lovely, lovely Brugge. :)

La façade de l’établissement né laisse pas deviner le décor de l’intérieur: cheminée aux carreaux de faïence, des boiseries, des journaux anciens comme papier peint. Un accueil souriant. Idéal pour se réchauffer en hiver en sirotant une boisson et en grignotant une assiette.

Endroit vraiment agréable, j y ai mangé le soir. L’accueil était tres agréable.
Le décor en fait un endroit assez atypique, mur tapissés de coupures de journaux, tables avec des tableau a l’interieur (sous une vitre), certaines parties de mobilier en rotin, couloir et cours interieure.
La viande y est bonne mais c est surtout les desserts qui me faisaient envi, la carte est vraiment bien etophée de ce coté la.
La musique etait des années 70, 80.
Bref: une bonne soirée de passée

Great place to have a bite on the go. The «croquettes de crevettes» are very good. Service is quick and staff is friendly.
