Nothing extraordinary, but a nice spot to sit outside and enjoy a glass of Chardonnay, some cheese and salami outside. It’s right by the market, and is a very relaxed environment. You are left to your own devices, to take in the view, and unwind from a day of exploration.

Our second day in Bruges we went looking for an evening meal. Once again we ended up in Market Square and looked at the various options available. Being on a budget, money was tight and we found Bruges a little on the expensive side. Meridian 3 seemed to fit the bill so we entered and asked the waiter for a table for two. Immediately he picked up we spoke English and spoke to us quite fluently and pleasantly in English. Again, language was not a problem as it seems that the best qualification a waiter can have in Bruges is to be multilingual. We ordered some drinks which were served quite quickly before the waiter brought us some menus from which we ordered. This time, service was a little on the slow side but we put this down to the relaxed culture of Bruges itself. Although we had no complaints with the food and drinks, the delays in service were taken advantage of with one tourist making off without paying the bill. Another couple sat next to us and were passed menus. They looked through the menus and decided it was not for them before the waiter got back to take their order. When he did return he was not surprised that they had left and we engaged him in polite conversation. He told us that this restaurant was primarily an eating establishment and it was rather frowned upon to just sit there and order a beer even if you are a self opinionated important personage. If you are looking for relaxed service and a reasonable priced meal to boot, then I would recommend this place, but be warned, if you just want a beer or a coffee, visit one of the many bars in Bruges instead. Total price for 2 meals and 2 drinks each came to just over 42 Euros.
