Ah The Stanley… the local wine bar for people living in Wembley and the West Leederville hood on Cambridge Street. It used to be my local but unfortunately I left the area! Full of character yet keeps its delivery as simple as pie. With a focused wine list and several beers on tap, this is the kind of place you want to grab a bottle of red, sink into a leather chesterfield couch and chat about life to your closest friend. Burgers can be ordered next door from Flipside and delivered to your chair. Otherwise simple cheese boards can be ordered from the bar. This is exactly what a local wine bar should be.

Go to the pub then order a Flipside burger next door. They bring it to you in the pub. The furniture and garden are decked out with vintage furniture which makes it feel like you are at someone’s house. Just a great local vibe, with laid back, happy-go-lucky people. The bar staff are trendy and don’t mind recommending a nice red to go with your burger! I wish I lived closer so I can make this my regular.

The Stanley is a cute little bar/pub in wembley. The interior looks like an old house with lots of comfy couches and small tables around the place, it also has a small outdoor area. One of the best things about the Stanley is you can go next door to Flipside and order a burger and chips And they will deliver it to you inside the Stanley and they are really yum burgers! I have also just recently discovered that you can take your own nibbles! Last time I went there we all bought along cheeses, dips, meats and crackers and they supplied us with wooden boards and cutlery which really saves on costs for foods! It is a bit more on the expensive side than your average pub and more for a quote catch up with friends but I do really enjoy it!

Whenever I come here I think, «I really must come here more often.» Friendly staff, funky crowd of over 30’s and a relaxing ambience. I quite like the little private room at the back of the courtyard, has a really nice homely feel to it. Another plus is you can order food from Flipside next door and eat it at the Stanley. Burger, wine and beer amongst an awesome, relaxed crowd … Can’t get better than that!

Great little bar. Just what Perth has been missing for all these years. Nice atmosphere for the over 30s crowd. They play great music but at a level at which conversation is not at all difficult. Has a lovely ambiance without being pretentious. Also there is a burger joint next door!

Good wine list and interest bottled beer choices. This place is cranking on a Friday night with locals. Mostly late 20−50s crowd, very cruisy, chilled and great decore.

Good for the 35+ crowd Stopped in here after hearing about it on the street. A little pub/bar with a Victorian styling and limited drinks selection. Reasonably priced beer and cider though. The fact that you can order food from the Flipside burger store next door and have it delivered there is a one cool thing to note. I just couldn’t help like feeling I was out of place. Maybe I would enjoy this place more if there was some more music? There was literally none tonight. They actually dimmed the lights just before I left and that was at 9:30pm on a Saturday night … Like other people have said good for a quiet chat on a quiet night but definitely not somewhere I would go before a big night out as a 20 something.

Such a cute little place with lots of intimate character. I wish I had more to say about the drink selection here but I only had one glass of bubbly that was ordered for me so I didn’t even have a look at the menu! I know they serve a cheese platter but we had burgers from flipside. It seems like if you don’t reserve a table on a weekend, you could be SOL. There aren’t too many places to sit and the areas where there are won’t accommodate more than a group of 10 – 12. Certainly not a place for large gatherings, but hey, sometimes that’s part of the appeal!

I love the concept of this wine bar — relaxed late night drinks go down well with some food however. We went there on Friday night — Flipside was closed, and I certainly didn’t want pizza. There is only so much nuts and cheese I could eat. Just a couple of really simple dishes would make this place near perfect

The Stanley is becoming one of my favourite haunts. It is a cool mix of antique victorian style lounge chairs, sofas, chaise and ottomans. on one side, and then modern chairs on the other side. The walls are adorned with a collection of seemingly unrelated objects. A rooser sits near a picture of Jesus, which is globe and a top hat. The décor is at first disconcerting, now I find it charming. This is a great place to sit back, enjoy a drink and catch up with friends. I must be getting old, as the patrons here are more likely to be middle aged professionals, not young idiots who can’t hold their liquor and want to fight with everyone they see. I wish they have more extensive food options than the Flipside next door.

In looks, The Stanley has a Victorian air about it. Its floors are arranged with an accumulation of all types of antique seating, including a chaise longue to one wall. There’s not much standing space for all the chairs; and patrons are invited to sit and mull. Quirky objects like portraits of Jesus, a stuffed rooster and a series of flying duck ornaments, add some humour. The result is an endearing and warm environment, to enjoy a fine glass of wine or a boutique beer. The clientele are largely middle-aged, well-off Western Suburbs regulars with which it can get very packed with on a Friday night. I attempted a visit one Friday at 6pm and had to leave after finding the bar was stuffed uncomfortably to the rafters. The Stanley has a mutually beneficial relationship with Flipside Burger bar next door. Patrons can order their burgers and have them brought to them at the bar — love this concept! On the whole The Stanley is a cosy place for a quiet drink… when the night is quiet.

Adorned with antique furniture and trinkets aplenty, the Stanley has its own rad thing going on. It’s not like any other bar you’ll find in Perth. It’s littered with random objects — religious paraphernalia, lamps, books and wind up toys. There’s this little room between the patio areas which is set up for larger groups and it’s totally cosy. The lighting is warm and the walls are lipstick red, it’s really relaxed and you can bring in your burgers and chips from Flipside next door(I KNOW!). It provides some reasonable drops from Australia, New Zealand and France, as well as your standard ciders and beers. It’s kitschy and fun.
