Amani Bar & Kitchen

It’s not often this happens. The guys at Lot Twenty told me about Amani Bar so my wife and I went to check it out.
Guys, really!!! Where have you been all my life!!!
As soon as we came in we were greeted with friendly smiles and felt so welcome! Just loved it.
Checked out the menu and there’s more than enough to choose from. The wife had the chicken breast and I went the Angus steak. This is where the WOW factor came in, the meals were amazing! Perfectly sized portions, amazing flavour and exactly what we were both looking for!
Drinks after dinner, I had my favourite, a Negroni of course but I was recommended a German gin, oh my, this was amazing! Seriously, I love it when you know what I want! A classy barman who knows how to treat their guests!
I just loved this experience! If I wasn’t flying out to the Eastern States tonight, I’d be back tomorrow for sure!
I will miss you but I’ll be back without a doubt, thanks for an awesome night!

A group of us came in for the $ 10 caprioska night last night, none of us had been to Amani before.
The bartender who was in first was absolutely lovely and didn’t mind chatting to me while I waited for my friends to turn up.
The different flavoured caprioskas were made with fresh fruit juice, the lychee flavour was the best.
After a few drinks the serving size got smaller and smaller then we were receiving very small drinks, when we questioned the bartender about the size he said «that’s the size we are making them now, if you don’t like it I can top it up with soda water» not a nice way to treat new patrons.

Simply amazing and delicious. I hope they still do the coconut crème brullee when I go back there. Nice for intimate or small group. Keep those dishes and wine coming guys and gals, you’ll not be disappointed. :-)

We went to Amani to try their new Spring menu. The service was impeccable, with our waitress being attentive but not intrusive throughout the dinner. Highlights of the meal were definitely the grilled kranski sausage, scallops & duck with wild rice and strawberries and polenta churros. The passionfruit pannacotta dessert is flawless — sweet, sour when necessary and with varying textures. It’s a gorgeous springtime celebration on a plate.

I went to Amani Wine Bar on Saturday night for a friend’s birthday, due to the weather we were running very late, and all credit to Amani they kept our table even though they were super busy and we were 40 minutes late.
This bar makes me feel like I am back in Melbourne, the set out is awesome, and I loved the music, which was loud enough to have a decent conversation. It has the perfect feeling for a winter’s night with the fire up one end.
The menu was great with lots of interesting choices a whole selection of dishes were ordered across the table of 5, for dinner I shared the Ploughman’s Plate which was full of tasty little morsels, the hit being the maple glazed bacon. Yum!
This place is great for groups it is well spaced and comfortable, I did find the service a little slow as the night went on but by then they were super busy so understandable.

Oh Amani… I want to like you… but I can’t!
First, I have to say, the service was amazing! Only reason I’m giving them more than 1 star. We were served by 2 different bartenders, both were very friendly and happy. When my friend asked for a cocktail they didn’t know, they offered to google it. For a 1^st attempt it was pretty good
For a wine bar I was expecting more than just 3 small pages of selections. My partner who wanted to start with a beer, was disappointed when he was told «oh sorry, we forgot to put through a beer order last week»
Despite these few hiccups we carried on and decided to order the Ploughman’s tasting platter. I was really excited for the camembert and olives! When the platter came out, we all stared at it for a good few seconds… Where is the camembert was my first question?!
Man oh man, there was just too much going on that platter and none of it was good. The camembert was missing and they seemed to have replaced it with raw cauliflower. There was an entire box of water crackers strewn around the plate. 1 strawberry, 1 green olive, 1 pickled carrot and 1 broccoli… Were they just trying to get rid of all the extra ingredients in the kitchen? Is this really what I paid $ 34 for???
The only good thing was the crusted bread, and my partner liked the duck pâté.
I don’t think Amani is for me…

I recently visited Amani to catch up with two lovely gals for a drink. We chose a delightful bottle of Chablis and shared an entirely delicious pumpkin salad. Pumpkin salad doesn’t really sound overly impressive but honey roasted and paired with blue cheese — yummo!
I’ll admit that when I first walked in I couldn’t believe how narrow Amani was. Such a small space, but that’s all part and parcel of the Perth small bar scene I suppose.
For a friendly Friday catch up Amani had worked well

$ 12 minimum for a glass of red? No wonder the place was empty. Yes it has a nice ambiance and service was pleasant, but why not cater to all budgets? A friend and I popped in for a Tuesday night catch up only to have to leave after one drink because, frankly, we couldn’t afford to have a second drink. Perhaps I’ll give it another try another night when it’s pay day and there’s a bit more of a crowd in there.

This was my second visit here and I must say — I was very impressed with the quality of the service & the standard of the food. Although we only tried the buffalo mozzarella — it was amazing! We asked the waitress to pick out two cocktails for us — we said we wanted something sweet & fruity. She ended up serving us this cherry cola flavored cocktail. Both my girlfriend and I really didnt like it, so without hesitation — she took them away and came back with another which we both loved. She was annoyed or angry — I thought she handled the situation really well. As a result, ill be back. And ill be telling people about the high level of service. Well done guys.

Spotted this new bar across the road as we exited from the movies at Luna, Leederville and thought we’d give it a try.
We really liked it! Extensive wine list, local and imported wines.
The food was tapas, with small dishes to share — perfect for my friend and I who love to share and taste a variety of dishes.
Very good quality food, relaxing and inviting ambiance and the staff were super!
Will be going again.

Stopped in here with the gf after hearing about a new wine bar opening up recently in Leederville. It was just after 9pm on a Sunday night to paint this picture. There was two male friends having a few glasses of wine near the entrance and two girls catching up further back in the bar. Overall it seemed very empty.
The wait staff were very friendly and professional and joking said we could sit wherever we wanted. The girl came over with two glasses of cold water and the drinks menus. One being for wine/​champagne and the other being a cocktail list.
We decided on one from both just to try it out. We ended up ordering a «Day of the Dead» cocktail with a tequilla base which was pretty decent and a glass of Babich Black Label Pinot Gris. Both drinks came out pretty quickly and hit the spot.
Upon looking at our surroundings and the menu a bit more we came across something odd. Both the menu and the alcohol perched on the shelves seemed to showcase a rather alarming LACK of wine considering this is meant to be a WINE bar.
Upon inquiring about this with said waitress we were told the place has only been open for around 4 weeks and they are still in the process of adding and removing wines from the menu until they settle upon a final list.
They do normally offer food there too and this would have been tempting to test had we not just eaten in town or the chef been sent home early due to a quiet night at the bar.
The décor inside looks reasonable and it is evident some effort has definitely been put in but we both agreed something was a little off. Maybe a bit too much lighting? Maybe the checked tiles on the floor? We are not too sure.
Either way a new business in town striving to make it so best of luck, hopefully that wine list will be sorted out soon and there will be more offerings in the future. We will return at some point to see if this is the case.
