More brekkie, seriously do people in Perth eat anything else? Saying that, anyone that can serve a decent eggs benedict is doing good in my eyes. The hollandaise tasted suspiciously shop bought but maybe they just do a sauce that. well…tastes shop bought? Regardless, there are some nice brekkie and lunch options in here and some very fresh(as it should be in Trigg) fish. Unfortunately the only reason I had to come in here was because Trigg Island Café was just too busy and to be honest given the option again, I would try and stick to the Island but nothing majorly wrong here.

When Trigg Island Café gets busy – and over summer it gets very busy indeed – the canteen next door rolls up its shutters, opens for business, and does its level best to catch the run-off. It also attempts to catch those running by: the number of joggers in these parts is quite extraordinary, and this seems to be the point on the coastline at which they stop for a coffee or a bacon and egg roll. The canteen’s coffee is not as good as the café’s next door, but the food serves as a nice counterpoint to that available only a few metres away. A full-blown big breakfast, or even a serve of eggs benedict, can occasionally be too much to handle, especially in these summer months when lighter fare is more appealing. Sometimes all one really wants is one of those aforementioned bacon and egg rolls, which are very good indeed, and reasonably priced. Otherwise, the canteen is precisely the sort of place one would expect to find a minute-and-a-half from the beach: unflashy, even rudimentary, and stocked full of cold drinks and hot pastries. Trigg Island Café remains the favourite but its certainly nice to have another option.
