We had breakfast there yesterday. Scrambled eggs on ciabatta toast. Pleasantly surprised with chopped chives added. My partner had the smoked salmon, poached eggs with hollandaise and we both had coffees in mugs. The coffee was as good as you’ll get anywhere, the food was excellent, the venue and revamped building a big improvement from the past… oh, and the staff… nothing to complain about there either. This café/restaurant compliments our magnificent west coast here in WA. Prices are on the money too… certainly competitive in todays market. We’ll be back… and with friends!

Went to this lovely café for breakfast with a few other food bloggers after recieving and invitation from Liz who runs Breakfast In Perth. The tables were all set up beautifully and fresh muffins were placed around the tables which smelt delicious and were still nice and warm. For breakfast I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with slow cooked pears, maple syrup and spiced ricotta — a generous serving of 4 pancakes and good amount of maple syrup, the pancakes themselves were light and fluffy and the pears were nice and soft. This place offers an amazing view to go with any meal of the day and they also have a fire place going for those cold mornings and nights :)

Thanks @breakfastinperth we had a lovely bloggers brunch date here. I v never know this place and it is quite a nice venue to eat out! Especially the great Location which is near by the beach. It is really enjoyable to sit in side and have a nice chat with friends. And the food there were simple but delicious. I like the dirty chai!

Recently stopped in for a coffee after a costal walk. I had my dog with me like a large percentage of beach/coastal exercising folk, and unfortunately dogs aren’t allowed anywhere near the alfresco seating area, apparently it’s the hygiene laws. I wonder why you can at other nearby cafes like Voyage and not here? Anyway I’m sure it’s all legit, I was just surprised that they had gone to the trouble of installing around 5 signs stating ‘no dogs allowed past this point’ and not thought to have installed a few hooks or poles where people could tie up their dog while dining? A lot of cafes have them these days. They usually have dog water bowls too. The café is either owned by people who aren’t dog people or they haven’t thought that much about their target market. The coffee was ok, need to head back to try the food.

4 Stars only for the Café takeaway– Ordered grilled fish and chips on a weekday for lunch came out quickly and the grilled was cooked to perfection and still juicy and massive the chips were perfect fresh crunchy and was def cooked in fresh oil. Also tried the fish taco on another occasion was ok nothing special stick with the grilled fish and chips! Had a coffee on another occasion was good just a takeaway but was surprised it was ok for a fish and chip café. Good takeaway for sitting at clarkos on a hot night!

Food is no better than average pub fare at an inflated price. Service is lacking in all respects. Location on the beach is very nice. I generally give a longer review but there is nothing more I can say about this eatery.

I went here last week with two friends when we were out on our usual stroll. This café is in a great location and has a relaxed ambiance about it. You can go to the takeaway section or the restaurant. We chose to have takeaway grilled fish and chips for $ 12.50. It was served fast and was very tasty. Definitely somewhere to check out especially at sunset!

Family friendly and good cheery service. The menu at the kiosk is simple yet well flavoured and choices are available for everyone. They also do a good coffee and select juices by The Juicist. It was a pleasure. looking forward to booking in a dinner at the restaurant next door — also by Kailis.

Lunch on a Tuesday just after Christmas. This place is relatively new but there didn’t seem to really be any teething problems. Just not very exciting and way too expensive. The staff look either very timid or just plain terrified but they are trying quite hard I think. Not a lot of experience there though. So $ 36.50 for three lamb cutlets and a bit of pumpkin. Some mess of mayo perhaps on one of the cutlets. Just average at best. I have had better from my mates bbq. At that price there’s got to be something more going on. Lamb cutlets are not a difficult dish. The seafood linguine was better, but a bit heavy on the tomato. Fish(snapper local and fresh — maybe local but doubtful fresh) was also ok but not $ 29. It’s just fish and chips! Nice space but they have gone to the discount furniture store for their table and chairs. Review your prices or lift the quality of your food or better still, do both. They will do fine because of where they are. I won’t be back in a hurry.

Righto, so after a year of depriving me of their *stupendous * fish tacos during a protracted renovation, here’s my low-down of the refreshed Kailis outlet at Trigg. The biggest tragedy is that they’ve also renovated the fish taco. Which was completely unnecessary considering it was perfection and no matter the trends, would never get old. So instead of two hand sized tacos, bursting with deliciousness for $ 16, you now get one, slightly bigger taco for $ 12. And it’s rubbish in comparison. Instead of spiced fried chunks of fish, you get shredded fish meal. Gone is the crunchy purple cabbage and fresh coriander. Chilli is now scarce and I’m not sure I found any avocado in the new version. SO disappointed. The other glaring absence is Ginger beer. Not one bottle to be found. Just oodles of crappy fizzy drinks and blah iced tea. Also bottled water and coconut water. Yack. I mean, who doesn’t love a GB with some greasy food. It’s a match made in heaven. They’ve re-jigged the car park too, taking out all the mature Casuarina trees that offered great shade and that cool«husssssshhhh» sound when the wind blew through them. They have created more parking spaces. Yeh, that’s what’s needed: more black bitumen and hot metal. But the refurb is pretty and in a spot that you can’t help but love as the epitome of what makes Pert so damn triffic. Serving sizes are more than generous and if you can cope with there only being frozen hake as your sole fish option in the kiosk, it’s worth a look in. POSTSCRIPT: Got mild food poisoning on this visit. Sent them a polite email to advise them. No acknowledgement. P155 poor Kailis. One star for you.

Staff are absolutely fantastic and the food is good. Location is ideal and makes you remember why we love living in Perth. But i don’t understand why I couldn’t have a dessert from the children’s menu. I think that’s being ageist.

Stumbled across this new venue at Trigg beach today while on a bike ride along the coast, didn’t try the food but it looked lovely with ample seating great light and an outside area to sit and watch the ocean! Can’t wait to go back and try out the food the chicken schnitzel looked delicious and the smell of fresh fish and chips was divine. There was lots of people sitting outside with a coffee enjoying the beautiful WA coastline view. Delighted to see more venues opening up along the coast. A perfect spot to stop on a walk or a bike ride.

The Kailis Beach Café is situated in a lovely spot alongside Trigg beach. It has some lovely views of the beach BUT it isn’t the most amazing place in terms of food and service. I came here for a small bite to eat and a cup of tea while waiting for the kids I looked after to finish surf lessons. I felt a big uncomfortable when I first came in as it took ages for anyone to come over to show me where to sit even though there were heaps of girls working there walking past me. I only got a snack and even then I felt like they wanted me to go as they kept asking if I was done. I wouldn’t mind going back there to try a proper meal and see if its worth it but from that visit I wasn’t too impressed!

I met a friend for lunch here, and it’s a bit of a hidden gem! Our waitress told us they had a new menu and there were quite a few things I would have chosen! The fish and chips looked great but being on a bit of a health kick, I opted for a much healther sounding sesame salmon with asian veges which was delicious. The skin on the salmon was crispy and the veges still had a bite to them. My friend ordered the spicy fish tacos which were also good(we swapped lunches halfway through), a decent serving of 2 toasted wraps full of guacamole, purple cabbage and spice rubbed fish — a lighter alternative to the normally deep fried fish. It wasn’t the cheapest lunch around, coming in at $ 52 for the both of us(no drinks) but it was delicious! They have a little kiosk outside for more casual feeds or when you have the kids in tow covered in sand! Right next to a sheltered beach for the kiddies which has toilet and shower amenities, a bit more of a grown up beach next door(aka not sheltered at all) and LOADS of parking. Will go again!

After a morning and afternoon of surfing at Triggs, we definitely developed an appetite. We decided upon Kailis Beach Café, since we’ve dined here prior, and I absolutely love their spicy fish tacos. The views at KBC are definitely a huge bonus, located on the ocean front, of Trigg Beach. We were greeted by the hostess immediately, and were seated. I already knew what I wanted, as did my brother, so menus are not necessary. I went directly for the spicy fish tacos, whilst my brother, opted for the fish & chips. The service is fast, friendly, and certainly attentive to your needs. The ambience at KBC is definitely chill and very relaxing. The staff isn’t in a hurry to kick you out, once your meal is finished. Our server even stated, «Please just take your time and enjoy.» That’s pretty easy to do, when the backdrop is Trigg Beach. Also, the fact that it was hot as hell today, the breeze coming off the ocean, was definitely appreciated. As always the spicy fish tacos were awesome. You get two nice big tacos, served with fresh fish, cabbage, jalapenos, and a wicked good avocado salsa. My brother’s fish & chips were certainly delicious as well and cooked perfectly. I sampled the fish, very fresh, crispy, but not at all greasy. However, the fish & chips could certainly use more fish, than chips. They were heavy on the chips. They’re definitely good, but more fish would’ve been better, especially considering the price. The tartare sauce was delish, but seriously, how hard is it to muck up tartate sauce, hell, even I can make some ridiculously tasty tartare sauce. Overall, great food, excellent service, and one helluva a view.

This Sunday my family all went out to Kallis Beach Café in Trigg for dinner. The décor is really clean, well presented and have a surfie feel. Very laid back — although quite noisy in the open area. Voices carry quite far at this café. The waitress’s were friendly and helpful. We ordered a delicious garlic bread for the table, as well as chips. I asked for a side of aoli which I noticed didn’t come… My sister and I shared fish tacos and the haloumi salad. Fish tacos were perfect to share as it was a big serving of 2 and we thought there was no way we could have eaten it all for 1 person. The salad was nice, but not the best thing I ever had. I was really happy with the fish taco though. My mother ordered the garlic prawns — which was quite tasty but my father felt that they could have delivered a bit more for the price tag(I think 17 dollars?). He ordered the fisherman’s basket, to which he found delicious but thought they could have put more seafood in — as he found the chips greatly outweighed it. The café doesn’t cater well for vegetarian’s on the menu — they are limited to a couple of options(to which aren’t the greatest). My other sister who is vego ordered the chicken salad and had them replace the chicken with a ‘surprise’ — which was pea purée. She loved it and will recreate the meal at home. Overall — not the best seafood place I’ve been to, but the service is great and you can get a nice enough meal.

Hella views, good wine, so-so food. I ate two or three sharing plates and was not disappointed, nor was I wowed. The views on the other hand are superb and the setting captures the nature of living in Perth: sun, sea, ocean views and lots of people doing exercise.
