This bar/restaurant is located on Cavill Ave. in the pedestrian mall area on the right side just before the beach if you are walking toward the water. I stopped by for lunch since I was looking for fish and chips and other Unilocal reviews in the area seemed to suggest it might be one of the better ones in the area. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. Since this is near a beach and there was a nice breeze I decided to sit outside since that would allow people watching and there is also free wifi courtesy of Telstra. The place isn’t upscale by any means but it seemed right for the beach area and I wasn’t looking for anything fancy or high end at that point. It’s all about the context of the moment. Service was friendly enough. I had decided on the battered fish and my friendly server pointed out the cheaper lunch special of fish and chips on the board. It was nice of her and I agreed to it. It came with skinny fries(think McDonald’s in size) and a salad. The fish is battered(not breaded) which is right for what I was looking for. It’s an Irish pub theme! The portion was about right for lunch with a single but large fillet of fish. I had a beer with it but didn’t try anything else off the menu. Great service. 10pm at night, and this place is still serving cooked food. Just $ 9.95 for Fish & Chips(or 3 other dishes inc. lamb shank & a pork dish) plus you have to order a drink. And HUGEGOLDSTARS to the girls serving for doing an impeccable job.
