Go Ride A Wave Surfers Paradise specializes in 2hour surfing lessons at Surfers Paradise beach. We also hire hard and soft beginner boards as well as body boards, wetsuits and rash shirts, umbrella’s and chairs. We also buy and sell second hand boards and a range of beach equipment.

History

Established in 1987.

Go Ride A Wave began in Victoria in 1987 and the surf school at Surfers Paradise began in the early 1990’s. We bought the business at Surfers Pardise in october 2004. It is a small shop but a prime location right on the beach end of Cavill Avenue. We have tried a range of activities over the years including hiring 50cc motor scooters but had too many accidents and decided against it. We now work closely with Northcliffe Surf Club where most of our staff are members and we run all our group sessions in front of the surf club to keep away from the busy Surfers Parsdise area.

Business Owner

Sam has been a competitive surf life saver since he was in Nippers in Lorne Victoria. He moved to Qld and joined Northcliffe Surf Club and was very competitive in surf ski racing for a number of years before a serious car accident which slowed him down a little. He is just getting back into paddling at the moment and hopes to be able to get competitive again in the masters races. He has worked at Go Ride A Wave for 5 years beginning as a casual, and moved up to become the Surfers Paradise manager. He recently bought into the business as an owner and is now also a director nationally.
