Great Beans, Great service, best Piccolo I’ve had on the Gold Coast, made by Jimmy.

This place serves great coffee. Don’t be shocked to see why is there only one server, this guy is very quick to serve all his customers. Despite being busy, he is still able to strike a quick conversation with you to keep you occupied while waiting. There are not many seats at the store, but who needs a chair in the Esplanade when you can sip your coffee on the beach. Enjoy!

So today we found ourselves craving a coffee just before 5pm. All signs pointed towards ESPL. Outstanding reviews everywhere we looked. How could we say no? We arrived 15 minutes before closing, grabbing ourselves a quick short black and some bagels to take away. It also happened to be a pay-what-you-want day, with all extra profit going to the local lifesaving club. Was almost tempted to just pay with the spare change in my pocket but hey, that’s not very charitable. The coffee is outstanding. I enjoyed an excellent double shot of Guatemala La Maravilla if my memory serves. My brother also says they make a good soy if that is your kinda cuppa. As you head out, I suggest you grab a bottle of their iced coffee. I’ve got a bottle waiting in the fridge for tomorrow. I love the vibe of the place. Very relaxed, with happy staff. It feels a lot like Patricia in Melbourne, just a trendy. If you’re looking for a good place to get a decent coffee on the Gold Coast, ESPL if your place.

Had a fantastic experience at ESPL. Coffee tasted great and the barista Taylor was happy to chat to us about some of their products, including bags of beans and the aeropress. She was very friendly and regularly checked up on us to see if we were enjoying the coffee and if we needed anything. For a small shop with just one staff member we felt very welcomed. They’re in a great location where you can easily grab a coffee on the go on sit and look over the beach. The banana bread was also delicious — I was told it was freshly made and delivered that morning. Will definitely be back!

You know when you can look at a place and just KNOW it will have good coffee. It’s voodoo, juju, it’s an ancient wisdom that remains embedded in our consciousness… I didn’t even check Unilocal,I just… knew.

Amongst the melle of Surfer’s Paradise is a tiny shopfront offering terrific coffee, muesli pots and sweet treats. The fit out at ESPL is gorgeous, with floor tiling that will make your eyes boggle. This smart styling extends to the menu boards and labels on the iced coffee(black or with your favourite milk) that you can take away drink at the beach over the road. There’s a small amount of seating out the front if you happen to visit on a rare cold day and would rather drink your coffee under shelter.

Great coffee, they actually know how to pull a good espresso shot. Decent food too! Great experience. Just do it.

If you want a full flavoured coffee this is the place to visit in surfers. I enjoyed a lovely flat white here after being dissatisfied with an insipid coffee around the corner at Charlie’s. This is how coffee should be and certainly hit the spot filling the void that remained after my breakfast at Charlie’s. This is a specialty coffee house so grab one on the go and head down to the beach. Or sit out the front and admire the view.
