I found the coffee here to be really good. I’d happily recommend this place solely on the coffee. Much better than some of the other over rated establishments around.

What’s in a name? One might look at the striped giraffe mascot, join the dots and suggest that the name is a portmanteau of Zebra and Giraffe — seems natch! If Gloria Jeans and Starbucks held an all you can eat swingers night this would be the glorious love child they would conceive(or be the next morning«shiz what have I done» remorseful walk of shame). My first visit to this place was awash with unbridled enthusiasm. I was introduced to my first ever soy skinny latte, and my day got better from there. Sadly, my second experience here wasn’t quite so good. In fact you might say it sucked. I stupidly ordered a flat white… And it was exactly that. Flat, dull, boring. No personality whatsoever. Hello! Taste? The free-with-a-coffee wifi didnt work and the staff seemed more concerned about informing us that it cuts out at 30 minutes rather than it working correctly. When we pointed out the fact that we’d just sat down, and it wasnt working they finally realised the issue. By then I was already smashing my own personal hot spot(yeah baby I sizzle!). So all in all a mixed bag for this one. Im gonna go ahead and average out the two scores I would have given them and toss out a 2. There is a lot of room for improvement, and they definitely need to work on consistency. They do get busy, but that may be due more to a lack of alternatives than great planning and success. Theres a reason why starbucks didnt work in Australia and why Gloria Jeans is confined to shopping malls, if Zaraffas is to survive expansion in the Paradise of Surfers they’ll need to disassociate themselves from both those brands…
