This restaurant is conveniently located in Subi and close to Ace cinemas to make it a great dinner and a movie date location. The sushi rolls I had(Rainbow and Black Velvet) were delicious and the food the rest of the table had looked quite scrummy too. I was also impressed that even though there was a fair sized group they allowed everyone to pay separately, thank goodness for keeping things simple.

Oh yeah I’m still thinking abut that tempura corn topped with mayo 24 hours later. Aisuru Sushi in Subiaco is pretty much a carbon copy of the Northbridge restaurant — same fantastic menu offering high-quality delicious dishes, a pretty top level of customer service, and a very similar interior design. So what did we eat. It might be quicker to look at what we didn’t eat ha! So I had the black velvet rolls, as usual. How can you beat a tempura prawn, raw salmon and avocado roll topped with black fish roe and some mayo? You can’t. The tempura corn I have mentioned already(must try!). The lovely lady sitting next to be had the Baconator sushi — which was popular at the table. The chicken karaage was awesome — also topped with mayo, oh joy. The only reason I’m knocking a star off is because there is definitely less of a ‘vibe’ at the Subi restaurant, that could be because I love Northbridge so, or it’s just a reflection of the general downturn in Subi at the moment. Either way it just wasn’t as fun and buzzing as the Northbridge restaurant. It would be great to see more Japanese hot meals on the menu too, like teriyaki chicken etc. I know these are offered at lunch, but not at dinner which is a shame as I would order them.

Love Aisuru Sushi. Now you must be thinking why the stingy 3 stars. Read on. Went there on a Friday evening without a booking. Arrived at exactly 6:20pm, was quickly seated. Mind you, this is a huge restaurant. But the restaurant was only filled on one half of it. Most you, many couples came in after us & wasn’t given a table where they could sit & chat face to face. They were seated at the bar facing the chefs at work. Okay, this isn’t right… The other half of the restaurant is EMPTY! If they can’t manage the while place, the other half should be blocked off. Don’t think I’ll be impressed if I’m made to sit facing the chef when I’m with my hubby. Food was great. I loved everything about it. Fresh salmon, tuna & scallop sashimi. Very nice. All the rolls are excellent. Try them all. Lastly, the 2 missing stars… Firstly, I asked the waitress where the bathroom was & I was directed out of the restaurant. I thought that’s fine. As I walked out, I had to turn right(as directed). It was so dark. No lights whatsoever. I was scared. Seriously!!! I kept walking in very low lights. There were parked cars to my left, think it’s a small carpark & on my left, a line of bins. Yes they do smell… As I kept walking, I kept looking for the«ladies» sign. Towards the end, I could see«gentlemen»… At this point, I was terrified. Still persistent in looking, I turned right. This time i saw«ladies» OMG I was thrilled but as I push the door it was completely dark. Immediately I searched for the switch… Then suddenly the lights came on. Oh my goodness. What a trek just to use the bathroom!!! Seriously, time to add more lights in that area. The last minus 1 point. As we were leaving, I saw a couple dining in the area where there wasn’t any customers. Wondered why are offered that«exclusive» seating. Will I go back again? If I’m in subiaco & I’m not interested in trying other food, yeah why not. But maybe not going to the bathroom alone again!

I’m definitely a fan!!! I really think Subi needs this restaurant as there is not a better place for sushi in this area. Although I haven’t been to the Northbridge Aisuru, this place has amazing sushi. Who doesn’t like something a little innovative and different from the generic rolls most places serve up? The service is amazing, there is always someone there to get you what you want. Unheard of in Perth, right!!! I just hope they stay alive as the restaurant wasn’t very crowded for a Saturday night. I love that they have a nice range of sake options and of course Sapporo… sake bombs!!! I tried the sunburn roll, spider roll, and rainbow roll. The spider roll was not great… too much lettuce makes a mouthful hard to chew and digest. The rest were simply delicious and I will definitely be visiting again!

Good ambience and great attentive service. Speedy delivery of food, even when the restaurant is busy. Delicious, fresh made Japanese cuisine that is reasonably priced. Large portions and lovely set up with the open kitchen. Makes for a wonderful dining experience. However, the outlet on William street is better than this one.

I’m a big fan of the original Aisuru Sushi in Northbridge so when I found out that a bigger Aisuru Sushi had recently opened in Subiaco I was excited. Parking in northbridge and braving the Friday crowds jostling for a table at Aisuru Sushi does not make for a happy Simone. Unfortunately the Subiaco counterpart was underwhelming. The crowd-pleaser sweet corn tempura was disappointing. The tempura was heavy and no hint of the delicious truffle oil topping. My other favourite torch roll was lacking the usual charcoal(ey) flavor and was a little too dry for my liking. The karaage was pretty good and consistent with the ones served in the Northbridge counterpart. Overall a let down. While service was very attentive(something which the Northbridge counterpart should bbe mindful of) the discrepancy between the two restaurants is noticeable. Looks like it’s back to braving the crazed conditions in Northbridge for me.
