St vincent De Paul Society

I make no secret about being a loud and proud smart shopper and often the op shops around town can vary depending on the demographic, season etc. So when I find a goodie I will tell the world (after I’ve had a BIG spend up.)
Finding myself up around Hilton way I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to check out the local Vinnies– and with a 50% off all summer stock why not? Initially I was a bit disappointed, the selection of dresses, blouses and skirts was really conservative.
Perhaps this is a more «mature womens» shop I thought, but as the women out the back chatted I smiled at their bluntness and tried a different approach. Taking any garment of interest away from the other items and viewing it on it’s own. This tunnel vision allowed me to uncover 3 fairly cute, one tone dresses. As I tried them on I did the math, $ 3 for a burnt gold, short chiffon dress, $ 12 for an olive green backless full length dress and $ 20 for a dusky silk dress.. . wow– that was more expensive than anticipated, but what great finds. I was debating whether to go with the $ 20 dress when the woman at the counter said it was 50% off everything, so the choice was already made– 3 dresses for $ 17 (as she rounded down!) SCORE!!!
Turns out they have a 50% off sale twice a year, once at the end of summer and again at the end of winter so heads up for next season– I know I’ll be there with bells on!
