Forrest Park

This humble space of green, bordered by Walcott St. and Harold St. is my local park. It’s more of a casual leisure park than it is a ‘sitting pretty’ park. I usually pass through on morning walks, where I often see an elderly Asian couple practicing T’ai Chi, or TAFE students on their way to class.
On Sunday afternoons you might see groups of mates playing a friendly game of cricket or soccer and in the early evenings the park hosts a meeting circle of locals with their furry friends.
You will not ever see people picnicking or BBQ-​ing here; Forest Park is more for physical activities. There are some exercise apparatus installed but they’re scarcely used. Forest park would be better described as an oval really, but it’s quietly pleasant all the same.
