Excellent atmosphere, excellent service and authentic italian food, what more could ask for?. Will definitely be back again.

By far the best Italian food I have had in Perth! Great prices too! Be sure to book ahead as it is always busy. Which is a good sign of course ;)

Papagallo, Italian for parrot or cocky had me interested from the get go with rave reviews setting high expectations! Great corner spot offering outdoor and indoor seating. The restaurant is loud and buzzing with Italian culture. The majority of staff I encountered were from Italy adding another dimension to the experience. Being a pizzeria, we decided to give the pizzas a go. Thin base with authentic Italian ingredients including prosciutto, Italian sausage, ricotta and buffalo mozzarella(my fave)! We tried the supremo, Siciliana and Diavola — all were tasty and fresh. The standout being supremo which featured mushrooms, olives, capsicum, ham and Italian sausage. A friend dined on the mushroom risotto of the day — tasty but nothing too exciting. Great wine selection(although I am biased as they offered my favourite Sicilian wine variety!)

We recently went to Pappagallo for dinner with a group of friends. It was a hot night and the A/C didn’t seem to be coping with keeping the place very cool, perhaps opening the windows might have allowed some breeze into the restaurant. We tried to order the prosciutto and burrata as a starter but unfortunately they had run out of burrata as it is imported from Italy and their latest delivery hadn’t arrived yet. It was replaced with buffalo mozzarella(also imported from Italy) and it was probably the best buffalo mozzarella I have ever tasted, so smooth and creamy with a drizzle of olive oil and sea salt. We shared a couple of pizzas with the group, the signature Pappagallo and Misto di Bosco, both very tasty pizzas. Another plus is the fact they allow BYO(wine only).

Located just along Oxford Street, not far from the main Leederville strip is Pappagallo. I have passed by Pappagallo several times on my way to Leederville and was determined to check it out when Rob Broadfield reviewed Pappagallo in the recent Weekend West magazine. After a bodypump session at the gym, mum and I decided to head to Pappagallo for lunch(carb loading much?). As we arrived early before the lunch hour, we managed to get a table easily. As Pappagallo is gaining its popularity, I heard that they are usually fully booked for dinner at night. The interior of Pappagallo is modernistic and edgy. There’s hanging lightbulbs from the ceiling with plenty of natural day lighting coming into the restaurant. We decided to order from the lunch special. I had the rigatoni with ragu bolognese($ 17.50), perfect for a cool, cloudy day. The ragu bolognese had a great tomato flavour, complementing well with the tenderness of the minced meat. It’s overall a hearty dish, bursting full of flavour. Mum had the spaghetti with mussels and cherry tomatoes($ 19). I had a taste test of mum’s spaghetti and it was cooked perfectly to al dente. Compared to my rigatoni, this dish was not too dry and very delicate in flavour. The mussels were fresh and the cherry tomatoes gave the dish a punch of sweet flavours. I have heard many things about the pizzas at Pappagallo and decided to give it a try. We took home a Pizza Suprema($ 26) comprising of a San Marzano tomato DOP, mozzarella, fresh hot Italian sausages, ventricina salami, leg ham, roasted capsicum and olives. Wow the pizza was delicious! It was flavoursome, topped with a hint of chilli kick with each bite, complementing well with the crispy base. What I found interesting at Pappagallo was that the pasta dishes changes every day, which means every visit might not be the same. From our dining experience at Pappagallo, I can’t wait to be back for dinner to try the other pizzas and perhaps be surprised with a different pasta dish. Delizioso!

This place is so Italian — it is great The food is impeccable, and the service is fantastic even though it can be extremely busy in there at times, we always get great service and attention from the staff. The desserts are to die for and it has one of the best pizzas I’ve had in perth.

We got takeaway from this pizza place a few Friday’s ago and it was DELCICIOUS. The place was packed, reservation would be a good idea if you want to eat in. Despite being busy it was just a 15 min wait for our pizza.

This new restaurant is drawing quite a crowd, even mid week! We ordered the capricciosa pizza, the ravioli, and a tiramisu for dessert. Everything we tried was perfection. Simple and elegant, as Italian should be. My husband and I arrived around 7:30pm on a Wednesday night without a reservation and the place was packed. The person who greeted us tried to do everything he could to find us a spare table and luckily someone finished their meal and we were lucky enough to slip right in. The service was excellent(despite being so busy). Looking forward to coming back!

Woah! Checked out the new kid on the block for a casual mid week dinner and was blown away. For starters we had the stuffed eggplant. It was a small serve but a generous amount of yummy sauce smothering it. For main I shared the Pappagallo pizza with my beau. OMG! Generous slices of fresh prosciutto, rocket and the truffle infused ricotta is something else — so flavoursome I highly recommend it! To top off a perfect night we shared the tirimasu and wow — someone’s nonna definitely has made this! The owners used to run Jugglers café down the road but this is a huge leap up, and they are doing Italian food right. Highly recommend.

Beautiful italian feeling straight when you step in! Service was quick as the place was well staffed. The space can be a bit tight though. The menu is good value and coffeee cheaper then seen in anywhere else. Real Italian small desserts to die for!

Pappagallo boasts little Italy. From the moment you walk in you’re greeted with amazing smells from the kitchen. The décor and wall tiles are perfect for this little spot, with the tiles being imported from Italy and the painting on the wall done by an in house staff member. Anything and everything on the menu is traditional in flavor and presentation. The grilled eggplant stuffed are amazing, the pasta is home made and the pizzas are exceptional. Must try the panna cotta, Pappagallo pizza, the lamb and grilled eggplant! This is the kind of restaurant and service that’s needed in perth. Thankyou for making the dining experience so enjoyable– can’t wait to come back!

This café is quite fancy, seems to cater for the suits. Trendy but doesn’t have a warm feel emanating from it.
