This Japanese place certainly pulls in a crowd! There is nearly always a queue, however the staff work efficiently to get your order. I love getting my creamy green drink or smoothie bowl from the Market Juicery next door and then sushi, rice paper rolls of the deconstructed salads — because a green smoothie is really going to fill this machine? Nah. All the products look fresh and enticing and perhaps a little bit on the more expensive side, but well worth it. The portion size is good and the quality is definitely there. So off I go, with my takeaways in hand, I leave the arcade feeling like I’m glowing with all the healthiness I’m about to consume and that my body is magically going to be thinner and more toned by tomorrow morning.

One of my lunchtime favourites! Must tries: Chicken curry, katsu bento, or the teriyaki(chicken or beef).

One of the best takeaway Japanese joints in town. Huge variety of sushi rolls as well as hot and cold takeaway meals. A small dining area if you’d prefer to stay and eat.

Love this little Japanese in Leederville! I stop here usually twice a week to get a quick sushi lunch on the way to work. I either get the tuna sushi or California roll but of which are really tasty. They also have a number of hot dishes that are good also. There food is always fresh and not too expensive!

Open from 10am if you walk down the Tip Top Arcade in Leederville at 9am you can see the Tsuke-Ba staff freshly making, rolling and packing sushi in their kitchen for the day. Tsuke-Ba is known in the area for their vast range of fresh sushi, sashimi and salad packs with every combination you can imagine. They also offer a variety of hot dishes from teriyaki fish or chicken to made-to-order bento boxes. Prices are very reasonable here and with 3 competitors within a 300m radius I’m not surprised that this place gets very busy at lunch with all the working locals flocking in for a tasty well-priced lunch. There is limited seating, so I do recommend taking away food where possible during the busier times. The service is quick and the staff have always seemed nice in my experience. Tsuke-Ba is my office lunch regular with every member having their own favourite dish. I highly recommend it for a quick and tasty take-away lunch.

I love this place, ok I walk there from home but it has the best take away Japanese I’ve found so far… I’m still looking though. I realize they have limited space to eat in so the space they have is used wisely for people in a hurry, not for sitting and enjoying the atmosphere. The service is good too, even when they are rushed off their feet. I’m a fan. :-)

Tsuke-Ba is a small gem of a Japanese place, tucked at the rear of the arcade. Basically — if you blink, you’ll miss it. The décor is unobtrusive and minimalistic, consisting mainly of a long, backless cushioned log and some small tables. Tsuke-Ba is dominated by a counter displaying their various food. Their prices are fair and their portions are generous — when they mention«salmon» in their food, you will be presented with large chunks of quality salmon slices. The avocado used in their rolls are also fresh, unlike a lot of other Japanese places where the avocado is barely recognisable. Tsuke-Ba is a great choice if you’re looking for quality Japanese in Leederville.

This amazing Japanese joint is outstanding. I love Leederville, almost every café or restaurant is amazing. This has to be one of my favourites, lets just start by saying, Bento box, oh my. Now I have had some good bento boxes in my time, but this one, this one takes the prize. The food is fresh and all round delicious.

They do great bento boxes here which is a bonus for anyone that works in Leederville and is craving a decent lunch. Tsuke Ba is serving up tasty fast food Japanese food as opposed to the high class designer type food that is often produced in Japanese restaurants. They also serve other asian favourites including rice paper rolls and salads. Better still, its cheap and fast and friendly all in the one package.

I’m guessing the owners of this gem of a Japanese takeaway joint are playing on the words ‘Sake Bar’ with their name. I’ve yet to try the good traditional alcoholic beverage here but I have sampled some of the food. There’s plenty of variety in the way of sushi, as well as tangy salads, a decent Teriyaki, and the yummiest salt and pepper calamari for just $ 4 a bucket. I eat them like popcorn! The design of this place is minimalist and practical in fit-out, and cute in decoration, with porcelain Japanese dolls and colourful lolly bags lining the long glass shelves that divide the restaurant from the arcade. Cool concept, excellent food, healthy for the most part, and fast service. What more could I want?

Tsuke-Ba has probably the highest turnover of any take-away Japanese I’ve seen = super freshness. They do a roaring lunch trade with workers in the area from Monday to Friday, when it can be hard to get a spot on their very limited seating. Customers generally finish their lunches as fast as they are served though, so you wont be waiting long before you nab a spot on one of the communal benches. There’s a wide assortment of sushi flavours in various serving sizes. They also do great miso soup, rice paper rolls, Asian style salads, as well as hot kitchen meals like Teriyaki chicken and Katsu Don. One of my favourite quick lunches is the chicken sumo salad from Tsuke-Ba; mixed leaves, avocado, teriyaki chicken, noodles and an awesome sweet, seeded mustard dressing. Hits the spot everytime.
