Love love love!!! I tried the Malaysian peanut satay balls and they are amazeballs! The entrée size was a perfect size for eating on the go and they have a deal on at the moment where their takeaway menu is 50% off winning! I loved them so much I went back the next day to try the BBQ bourbon ones which were just as delicious.

Walking through hip n cool Leederville stumbled across this establishment. Meatballs are the stars here, so perhaps not the place for Vegans. Ambiance is definitely intimate small groups, or impress my date night. Menu is cheeky, and internationally influenced, from Sicily to Morocco. Mains are on pricy side(29 – 32) but… perth(sigh). Colleague tried the Moroccan lamb balls with cous cous. Unfortunately demolished before the requisite photo. Luckily I skewered an eighth of a meatball before the plate was inhaled(Yes Chris, you are a pig) and can report that it’s Devine. I tried the pulled beef brisket– a cut that I usually avoid– served on a bed of… Well nachos. Yes, zambreros is next door, however they don’t have the meatballs which actually were gorgeous. Well cooked, tender and not dry. I must admit I was ready for disappointment, but was pleasantly surprised. They recently got their liquor licence, and their selection is small but thoughtful. Would be 4 stars if it was not so pricy, even if it’s my colleague footing the bill! Would return. Ps: Tnx for dnr chris. But your dinner manners are still like a pig lol.

I love meatballs, so when I saw that there was a bar specifically catering to meatballs I had to try it! And we were not disappointed. The staff are super friendly, gorgeous and very helpful with giving suggestions. We had a main dish each as we were feeling like piggies that night but there are other options to get shared balls I had the recommend dish of Moroccan lamb balls sitting on a bed of pearl Coucous with saffron, leatherwood honey yogurt and Harissa. My other friends had the Classic beef and pesto balls with house gnocchi & Napoli sauce and the GF option Sweet-spiced middle-eastern pumpkin balls, served with Jersey feta, cranberry jam & candied pecan nuts, on a bed of sautéed baby spinach and hummus black rice. All were great portions and delicious will definitely come back here again and again! Also I recommend booking a table on the weekends as it gets busy.

NOTE — this is for the location in Mt Lawley. Attractive and amusing restaurant with friendly staff, The Meatball Bar was a quick stop for a bite and some cocktails after an outing around Perth late Saturday night. One of the clever marketing aspects — it’s all balls. I’m not kidding; every food item on the menu is «ball» themed, even to the«sweet balls» with a tiramisu in a ball-shaped cocktail class to the rice-pudding balls. I would, however, avoid the deep-fried Oreo balls — one of my party complained that the dough was a little too dry. However, with tasty mains and beautifully presented meals overall, this was a surprising experience for a fairly new dining venue and I’m thinking of returning for a Valentine’s Day meal.

First time in 2014. Excellent… Wow! Being from Melbourne I thought this was the replica of the Meatball bar there but it’s not. I have to say itw as thoroughly enjoyable and VERY well priced. My friend & I shared the waffle fries which were DELICIOUS. Crispy and crunchy and a massive serve for only $ 7. We both had the chicken meatballs with Satay and they were delicious. I was surprised how big the portions were. 4 large chicken meatballs with very hot fresh satay sauce. The service by the italian guy was impeccable. We were ushered in from the moment we walked in. I will definitely be returning. 2015: I’ve now returned here multiple times, the results are still the same. Same excellent service and same excellent food. Consistently high quality!

With the Leederville festival on it was easy to get a table for two and quick service. We ordered the ball breaker that comes with six meatballs — two pork meatballs with fennel and coated in a stick bbq spicy sauce, 2 chicken meatballs in a white sauce and 2 beef meatballs in a watery tomato sauce. It comes with waffle fries which are fries with criss crosses on them. We had them replaced with polenta chips at no additional cost. The sticky bbq pork balls were amazing. The polenta chips were a bit dry but still nice. The other meatballs were meh. Wish we had received six kinds of meatballs. Would go back to get the camembert balls and the morroccan lamb balls. They’ve got a liquor license now and do wines, beers and cocktails. :)

The Meatball Bar is located in the heart of Leederville and as the name suggests, it’s meatballs galore. I’ve heard that The Meatball Bar can be quite packed but we were lucky to have just arrive after the peak Sunday lunch hour. The menu features a variety of meatballs and they are fine and fancy. In the end, we shared The Ballbreaker($ 48) which comprises of the chef’s selection of six meatballs and waffle chips. There’s the Sticky BBQ balls, classic beef balls and chicken, bacon and camembert balls. The meatballs are generous, juicy and delicious. Out of the three types of meatballs offered, it was very clear that the winner is the Sticky BBQ balls, which was our favourite. It’s thick, sticky and very tangy, bursting full of flavour. The best part? Dipping the crisp, tasty waffle chips in the sticky BBQ sauce. Compared to the sticky BBQ balls, the classic beef balls and chicken, bacon and camembert balls didn’t fall too behind either. We enjoyed the Meatball Bar and I am looking forward to be back to try other dishes from their menu. The service at the Meatball Bar is friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is lovely, making it a great place to dine. If you love your meatballs, the Meatball Bar is worth giving a try.

Hot August Night looking for red red wine and a feed Too late for trendy Oxford St wine bars This Meatball shop invited corkage free byo and a good feed. They delivered. Hearty vaguely italian style food served promptly by friendly staff. We will be back

The atmosphere in this place is great and you feel really comfortable. The food we ordered was great and full of flavour as well as beautifully presented. Be warned though that the balls are not very filling so you may be ordering several mains which is rather costly. It’s boutique food at its finest. It’s byo however which is perhaps its biggest letdown

I was looking forward to visiting the meatball bar for the first time on the weekend to try out the new lunch deals on offer. $ 10 for chips and 2 meatball sliders and also $ 10 for Sicilian hotdogs and chips. The chips are waffle fries and lightly salted and crispy. The hot dog and slider was nice and cooked well. For $ 10 that is a great lunch deal that leaves you full. However, I must admit I was expecting a bit more. I may be overly picky here but Leederville has so much competition in a small space I expect my socks to be blown off as they have tough competition but this was just a pleasant so-so lunch. There was nothing particularly special about the dishes we ate and I am in no rush to return. The service was polite and prompt so it is no fault of the staff there. I think I just did not order the right thing.

The greeting was kind, knowledge of how to order was thorough. We said we didn’t have much time as we had a movie to go to in 30mins & they brought our food out extra quickly! Every meatball was tender & succulent(which I didn’t get at Jamie Olivers restaurant sadly…) Very creative & delicious menu! Only sad point is that we didn’t have time to try their Lemon & basil sorbet for dessert!

I loved this place!!! I came here on a Monday night with 3 other people, the staff were very friendly and we were seated pretty quickly! Between the 4 of us we ordered heaps — Peanut Satay Chicken Balls — Macaroni Cheese — Gnocchi ala romana arrabiatta(watch out it has quite the kick to it) — Butter Chicken balls — Moroccan Lamb Balls — Pumpkin Balls with cranberry, candied pecan feta salad We could not fault any of it and all left full satisfied and in food comas and between the 4 of us the bill didn’t end up being too expensive either! It’s also BYO with no corkage at the moment which we were aware about so came prepared! Definately recommend this place to anyone who hasn’t been there yet and will have to make another appearance there myself :-)

With a very slick atmosphere, original menu and lovely staff, this place is a welcome addition to a very cool area. I enjoyed my meal here. Named The Ball Breaker, it was a pretty tasty mix of balls which was big enough to share with a pal and left us both sated. However, I think the food really is a bit on the pricey side for what it is. For example, the iceberg salad is actually a quarter of a lettuce. No matter how tasty the dressing is, I can’t help but feel that’s a bit cheeky. Although they’ve still got a few kinks to sort out, such as the liquor licence and the route to the toilet(a bit of a trek… don’t leave it until you’re desperate), the food was very nice, I had a good time and would go back again. 3.5 sexy balls out of 5.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! It is incredibly hard to find places that cook meatballs properly and this place is one of them. They weren’t dry and were cooked perfectly. THEYAREHUGE! We had the: Arrincini balls– amazing with a perfect coating on the outside Pure pork meatballs with BBQ sauce– delicious… Being American I’m very picky with BBQ sauce… It was very sweet and had a plum flavor to it but it was still good! Beef meatballs with arrabiata and gnocchi(special) — I would go back 100 times to get this dish! The sauce was nice and not too spicy and the gnocchi was cooked perfectly! Cheesecake– This is real New York Style Cheesecake! I have been searching everywhere in a Australia for decent cheesecake and this is the place! It tasted homemade(not sure if it is tho) The service was outstanding and the staff were incredibly friendly! I think it was the owner who came over to help explain the menu and make our choices. Free BYO was awesome!(Only for a limited time)

The staff(and owner) are super lovely here. They make you feel so welcome, like you really a guest in their restaurant. The menu is great, very diverse and the food we ordered was tasty and delicious. I must admit the down side is the cost, it’s just a little overpriced for what you get. If money isn’t an issue, come here and splurge on a night out. The atmosphere is great and the meatballs are authentic and delicious.

Visited on a Friday night for dinner at around 6.30pm, there were 7 of us and with no bookings they still managed to find us a comfy table at the back. Free BYO was great with an ice bucket and sufficient glasses coming out straight away. When we first looked at the menu we were a little taken back by some of the prices…$ 28 for 3 meatballs? Seriously? We decided to order a selection of things to share: Polenta Chips — a bit chewy, bust tasty Potato Fries with Aoli — Yummy Mac & Cheese — Delicious! With a breadcrumb crust mmm Arancini Balls –Yum, strong taste of ham & pickles, like eating a toastie in a ball. Chicken & Mushroom Meatballs — a bit spongey and sickly but tasty Pork Meatballs — tasty but a bit sweet Original Beef Meatballs — yum but nothing special Spaghetti & Meatballs– huge serving! Tasty sauce. We were all so stuffed after our mains but when the owner visited our table to offer us free dessert we couldn’t say no. Out came an ice cream sandwich with ginger nut biscuits(nice but a bit plain, the ice cream could have had a bit more flavour), 2 massive servings of the tiramisu to share(SODELICIOUS) and 7 seperately wrapped dessert cannoli’s to take away with us. The service was great, we never struggled to get their attention and they were super friendly. All up it came to about $ 30 per head which is quite reasonable, with stuffed full bellies & boozy heads. I wouldn’t recommend sticking to the meatballs as they were not the best things on the menu, the entrees & Desserts were all much nicer. There is a great atmosphere in here and with free BYO can be an enjoyable & affordable night. HOWEVERMEATBALLBARYOUNEEDTOGET A TOILET! You had to go outside and into one of the neighbouring establishments if you needed to go, which was a bit awkward.

I really like this place! We only had to wait 10 minutes to get a table on a Friday night, which isn’t bad at all. They are currently working out a bookings system apparently. The food was great, we had: — The gnocchi(a great sauce covering the fluffy pieces of gnocchi) — Mac & cheese(not bad) — The prawn meatballs in lobster cream(mmm) — Forrest mushroom balls(the clear winner) — Mixed greens(which seemed to be boiled veg, not great) — Cannolis to share for dessert… Yeah we went all out that night. Cons: — It would be a very expensive night out if they don’t reduce the prices of their food when their liquor license gets approved, as it was $ 70 per head(just for food, without booze) when we dined there, pretty expensive for Italian… — It was really noisy — Service was a bit slow.

$ 90 for a few meatballs and dessert? So we rocked up here tonight without a booking(the owner informed us over the bar that bookings are going to be killed off as the place is too small to have tables left empty) and ended up getting seated at the bar within around 10 – 15 minutes. Not a bad turn around considering this is one of the new places to eat in Perth. Wait staff were very professional and friendly and seemed to be able to handle the chaos that ensues when there are minimal to no bookings and people arrive hoping for a seat when they are all taken. This because they have only been open around a week or so. Its been over 4 weeks since the business applied for their liquor license and I was told it could be another few months(worst case) until it is granted. Having said they are being sporting and not charging any corkage for BYO which is your only option to have a drink with your meal. Having said that they still pour your wine for you and let the bottle breathe etc. So what did we have? We started with the Baked, truffle scent infused bread and then made some choices from the Meatballs and Sexy Balls sections of the menu. Our other selections were Steak and Cheddar meatballs, with candied bacon and soft fried egg, Garlic Prawn meatballs with mussels and lobster cream and Chicken meatballs with forrest mushroom sauce. The bread was quite tasty but the salt was a bit much for Susan. The meatballs you ask? Well you get 3 large meatballs per dish for all the meatball type dishes. The Steak and Cheddar whilst sounding promising was probably the weakest dish of the night. Whereas the Garlic Prawn meatballs along with the sauce(ALWAYS use the sauce) were only just beaten to best dish by the Chicken meatballs. These two were easily the best savoury dishes of our dining experience. For desert we were recommended to try either the Cheesecake(a bit heavy) or the Tiramisu which is made by the owner and his mother. We went the Tiramisu and weren’t disappointed. It was flavoursome yet light and pleasant and went well with the strawberries on the plate. Overall the bill came to $ 90. I mention this because that is EXCLUDING alcohol as it is currently BYO. On food quality alone this place is decent. Value for money ITISNOT. 20 — $ 28 for 3 meatballs with some sauce is daylight robbery(even in Perth).

New small bar & shared eats place on popular Newcastle Street in Leederville. Specialises in all things meatballs. Interesting concept that’s all the rage in the US, especially NYC. I tried two of the vegetarian options which I know sounds strange coming from a Meatball Bar but they were delicious & very satisfying. Really loved the deep fried crumbed Bocconcini drizzled with Pesto. The other was the Pumpkin Ricotta Balls in a Parmesan Cream — I guess they were like round pumpkin gnocchi. Will return for the meat options & give you an update later. Staff were very friendly & helpful. This place is already very busy!!!
