Description

Specialties

Miss Kitty’s is one of those places that slaps you in the moosh and pats you on the toosh… with plenty of old and freshly milled timber, recycled palettes, vintage bed-heads, barn doors, comfy old beds to sit on and of course a saloon door or two, Kitty’s world is her own. With an open kitchen and the opportunity to sit beside working chefs whilst watching them roast whole animals in the wood fired oven, you can feel a part of the whole Kitty experience. An open fire pit is in the kitchen as well, so fire plays a big visual part in the Kitty environment. There are lots of little moments, which is probably a trademark of what’s in Iain Lawless’s head… scary thought. This time though Iain has teamed up with co-owner Liam Atkinson who is also the Head Chef of Kitty’s. Liam has spent a number of years in Canada and with the American/Canadian influenced menu, food and why we love it. «It’s tasty food and a lot lighter and fresher then we percieve American/Canadian food to be.»

Meet the Business Owner

Iain Lawless L.

Business Owner

You don’t become a chef if you want easy money, you really have to love the job. It’s an Iain Lawless motto, and he loves to cook! So where did this witty chef come from? Trained in Scotland, and really learned how to cook in Australia, Lawless is a great believer that Australian cuisine is the front-runner in the food race. From humble beginnings in Glasgow, doing his bit for king and country working in Michelin Star and Egon Runey approved restaurants — which to Lawless doesn’t mean much if you don’t love the job — to Restaurant Owner, celebrity chef, and winning chef from Room Nineteen on Channel Seven’s My Restaurant Rules Series 1… Lawless is sharp as a tac, never short of a joke, laughs at his own funnies, and he also has some extraordinary cooking experience under his kilt.
