I think Grape have either just recently decided to alter their name from Bar & Bottleshop to Food & Wine, or they tried a while ago and it didn’t really stick. Anyone know? In any case, GRAPE(whatever the rest may be) is a buzzing hive in the middle of Salamanca Place. There’s definitely a strong focus on their wine cellar here, so get into a bottle or two. Reservations are accepted, and I strongly recommend booking the awesome, weirdly-shaped booth table up the back of the bar. Prime position. Also, while Grape’s all over the bottles of wine, don’t be afraid to check out the food menu either. You can totally eat dinner here. There’s no written cocktail menu here, but Grape’s bartender the evening I went in during Ginuary was a surprise delight, making up something on the spot for me, so I’ll definitely be back to Grape to test his cocktail skills out again! Grape is definitely one of the few places I comfortably gravitate to when heading to Salamanca for wining and dining, though on weekends in particular it can get pretty hectic. Weeknight date nights at Grape, let’s do this thing!

Grape is a fun ‘wine’ bar down on the Salamanca Strip. It has a very different feel, with concrete floors and high tables surrounded by bar stools. The walls are lined with rows of steel wine racks crammed with bottles of wine and the bar is very well stocked with beers, ciders and spirits. Grape also has a small menu with pizzas and other food that is pretty reasonable, but I wouldn’t go here planning a substantial meal. Grape can be very busy on a Fri /Sat night, but my favourite time would be relaxing on a quiet(er) afternoon, especially one where they have live accoustic music.

This wine bar and shop has a fantastic atmosphere and is one of the many happy memories of my trip to Hobart. The décor and lighting is modern and classy, the place itself is very clean, and the selection of wines is excellent. The staff is knowledgeable about Tasmanian wine which I would expect from a wine bar/shop on the Salamanca strip. I went too late in the weekday evening to sit and enjoy a glass but I did purchase a bottle of wine for about $ 30AUD from a northern Tasmania vineyard and really enjoyed it. I will definitely visit again if I get to opportunity to travel to Hobart. Highly recommended.

Grape is a great bar to hangout with friend. The live music can be a bit much at times because of how the place is built it amplifies the sound to a point of it being just way to loud. However on nights without live music its a great place to sit, get food, and chill out. Inside or outside. It can be a bit expensive, but they have a very wide selection of drinks so you can usually find something to match your own taste.

Grape is a great little bar & tapas restaurant in the Salamanca strip, great for both intimate meetings or meeting up with large groups of friends. The wine selection is truly extensive, with the walls lined with bottles available for purchase. The food is also reasonable, if a little bit overpriced(which is something one generally expects with tapas bars). The staff create a welcoming and low-key atmosphere. Grape is not one of those venues where the venue can overshadow why you’ve gone there, except for friday and saturday nights when the live music can be a bit overbearing.
