The pizza is great and a very extensive menu with many gluten free options. We also had a massive wait for the pizza and ended up coming back and taking it away, after having to call and find out where it was, it was stone cold. We couldn’t even order dips that would be ready in under an hour, not sure what was going on, but they need a reality check when it comes to service. That said the pizza was very good.

Great spot though service was average. When I go to a place I’ve never been Im not going to know you have a «system». The waitress asked If we had a Tab set up yet? — Why would we? My understanding of most«systems» is you order, you get served at the table, you pay then leave. We had to ask where our pizza was after almost an hour. The waiter I asked about it said«was it explained to you how long it would take? «- why would it have been? Drinks had to be chased down too. We ended up having to approach the bar ourselves. I guess that’s why you need a tab. Food was great, selection of beverage also great. It’s amazing how crap service can run your opinion though.

Lovely wine + drinks menu and very nice décor. The pizza menu was extremely interesting too and we were looking forward to some cool pizzas. My husband ordered the salmon pizza and I ordered the prosciutto xpt I can’t eat prosciutto so I requested a substitution and an addition of two topics. We shared — I thought the salmon pizza was good but my hubby did not. Mine unfortunately was not good at all because although the substitution was honored the 2 topings that I asked and paid for where not there and wzt them the pizza lacked flavour. So not too impressed.

We had been in Hobart for almost a week and we got in here on our last night, every night beforehand the place had been absolutely packed, I mean to the brim, you couldn’t fit more people in here if you tried. We were there on a Monday night so it was relatively quiet compared to what we had seen before. The food doesn’t come out in a huge hurry which is good to get a chance to talk for a bit before pigging out. Pizzas here were really good and a vide variety of options ranging from standard, deluxe up to premium pizzas as well as dessert pizzas are on offer, an extensive list of beers, wine and spirits are available too. This place is a great funky little pizza bar that is a must to visit if you are in Hobart and frequenting Salamanca Place on a regular basis.

After 6 nights of wanting to go there, our last night in Hobart seating was available :) This place is extremely popular and after dining there I now know why! You are greeted by very friendly staff who explain how to order and where to sit.(It is a pizza bar so there are booths, bar seating and outside areas). The menu consists of 4 pizza types, being Traditional, Gourmet, Deluxe & Dessert. There are around 20 different pizza to choose from with the option to «build your own». Pizza range in price from $ 10.00 — $ 25.00. The drinks lists consists of 55 wines all available per glass or bottle, around 15 different cocktails and basic spirits and soft drinks. Ok so the food… For a pizza bar it was great! My partner and I shared a Lamb Korma pizza and a Pulled Pork pizza for mains and a Nutella and Strawberry pizza for sweets. The pizzas were very tasty and full of toppings, we could not complain about walking out hungry that’s for sure. If you are after a casual dining experience with good tasting pizzas, I would recommend Cargo!

Great atmosphere in Salamanca Plaza in Hobart! Sat on the patio under the heaters! Staff was great and pizza was good. The Gelato is delicious! Great place for out of towners. I had the margarita pizza which was good and standard. I should have gone more adventurous and maybe found something a bit more extraordinary! But all in all the food is really good and great atmosphere!

Excellent pizza(gluten free too) and very long quality wine list. Not cheap, but we enjoyed it. 4⁄5 due to the high pizza prices.

Four stars hands down for good pizza(and a lot of great choices), a nice drink menu(though a bit on the pricey side), good selection of wines and a really cool, classy atmosphere smack dab in Salamanca. Did I mention that they play good music too??? They have the perfect setup to deliver a great night of good food, good drinks in a killer atmosphere. Where they unfortunately failed was in the length of time if took to get my pizza. I had driven in from Launnie via Port Arthur so I was TIRED and just wanted a bite and a glass of wine before settling in. So I placed my order, got my number and my glass of pinot noir and took a seat outside to wait for my pizza. I paced myself on my glass of light and fragrant wine… REALLY paced myself because after about 15 minutes I noticed a family who had been sitting outside waiting for their meal before I even walked in to order. There were also two ladies also seated outside who had ordered right before me. So at that point I KNEW I was in for a wait. 10 minutes after this the family was finally served and I had sadly finished my wine. 5 minutes after that my pizza came out. I watched the two ladies(who had ordered before me) patiently waiting for their order. Suffice it to say, I had finished and was ready to leave before they were finally served. What is frustrating about this is that the place was not busy by any means and you’d think that the staff who came out occasionally to clear other tables would have checked in with us to let us know how our food was coming but they just cleared tables and walked back in barely acknowledging that we had been outside waiting for a while. As for those ladies who ordered before me but were served after, MAYBE they ordered a kosher ham, halal sausage, gluten-free, hindu vegetarian, North Atlantic lobster, Buffalo mozzarella special which took more time… maybe. But if I were the manager I would have offered them a glass of wine or dessert for the amount of time they waited. So bottom line, the pizza was really good but the wait was really excessive. They’re not overly pricey but not exactly cheap so for the money, you’d think they’d coordinate their service and preparation a little better to expedite service somewhat especially when someone comes in ravenously hungry for some pizza.

Good pizza(especially the desert pizzas) and good setting. Gets very busy on a Friday or a Saturday night which might put some people off, but has a great atmosphere.

Expensive food and drink, horrible when crowded but great when a little more quiet with a group of friends, and you have a little more cash to waste. Pizza’s a bit mediocre many better options within walking distance.

Cargo is one of those places that it is great to go with a group of friends to have a couple of drinks to celebrate an occasion, or even just to catch up. However, the drinks themselves are on the more expensive side of the scale. Cargo does do a selection of pizzas which while not awful, can sometimes be a bit on the undergarnished side and not the best value for money. They often have loud music on Friday and Saturday nights which sometimes results in it not being the most enjoyable place to be, being a bit crowded and a weird hybrid between a club and a bar.

Good for a drink to catch up with mates but the pizzas are very expensive(especially considering they are thin based and have virtually no toppings) and I’m just not sure why. I usually go elsewhere to eat.

Stopped here for pizza and drinks on the tail of the taste of Hobart. Nicely situated in Salamanca and a busy spot. Good selection of traditional and speciality pizzas. Good spot for groups.
