I haven’t been to this place a huge amount, and even then it was simply to check it out because I haven’t been here all that much. Personally, it isn’t really all that crash hot — just a typical pub that happens to be next to the beach. Okay, being next to the beach does give it a bit more character, especially since Grange tends to be a little less crowded that Henley Beach down the road. As for the pub there isn’t all that much about that that stands out — there is a nice restaurant, a gaming room, a bottle shop, and a sports bar, and that is about it. I did stop by here when I was in Adelaide over Christmas, just to give it another shot, and in the end it really didn’t stand out — there are much better offerings further down at Henley Beach.

Went for lunch to the Grange… Had a Caesar salad and a cider in 39 degrees… Perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The serving sizes were huge and I couldn’t eat even a third of it… Really tasty though. Good service too. Would come back!

Great location. Attentive staff. Nice mood. Food was good without being wow. Kitchen shuts a bit early for my liking.

The Grange hotel is probably one of the better pub restaurants available in Adelaide, or at least it use to be like that. It’s recent change in menu, quantity of food servings and selection of food is not as superb as it use to be. Take the chicken parmigiana for instance, a nice savory dish that contained a colourful and large amount of vegetables along with a huge stack of chips is now only served with a small cup of finely sliced cabbage topped off with some mayo; disappointing. The menu itself is quite terrible, with a lesser selection than before I.e. prior mid-2015, and a whole heap of cheesy and ridiculous additions such as the ‘use to be free’ mushroom sauce, now costs 2 dollars.

This is a lovely place to enjoy lunch, the views are stunning really. We went there feeling very hungry and it is just as well, because the portions are big and it is filling. The quality of the food and presentation is outstanding for a pub. Parking is well okay, need to hunt around a bit or we did anyway. You get table service if you sit yourself inside, there is also outdoor seating, but Smokers can sit outside, but if that does not bother you then it is good. My partner had steak and he who is very fussy said it was one of the best he had eaten. I had seafood and it was fresh and lovely, also I saw vegan options on the menu, this is good to know for those of us with a vegan in the family. Sill go again when in the area as it was so lovely to be by the sea soaking up the atmosphere.

A tip to enhance your experience at the Grange Hotel. Join their pokies club(it’s free) and get a $ 7.50 meal — fish & chips, salt & pepper squid or spag bog. Other than that, it’s a great beach, a good pub in summer or in winter when you can sit warm behind the big windows and watch the waves crashing into the foreshore. Important details of the gamblers’ meal offer, which I think is available for lunch or dinner: There is always fish with chips and salad or with veggies, plus there are usually two other meals on offer — for example the pasta or squid described above. Whatever the meal, the deal is similar — I’ll use the fish as an example. For $ 7.50 you get one piece of fish battered or crumbed plus the chips and salad or veg option, plus bread and butter. Exactly the same meal is $ 13.90 over the bar or $ 14.90 in the restaurant, or $ 23.90 in the restaurant with a second bit of fish. The gamblers’ pasta etc I think are more like biggish entrée serves. Dunno really, I’ve never had them. There’s free coffee too, and it’s not bad at the price. The trick is, don’t gamble, otherwise it’s likely that you and not the pub will be subsidising your little feed. To get the cheap eats, you have to join the hotel’s ‘tag club’. It’s free — you sign up and they give you a nice blue enamelled tag to go on your keyring. This tag has the Grange Hotel’s name, address, URL and phone number on it and I think it also has data embedded in it, because you must present it when ordering your meal. They never contact you or email you btw and I suppose there’s a chance that anyone finding your tagged keys will contact the pub, so it’s no drama to have the tag on your keyring.

This is a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Very close to the beach and Grange jetty. Excellent selection of «pub food»…see my pics… and a wide variety of drinks including wine by the glass. And in case no one else tells you Ronnie Biggs used to work here

Wonderful views. Pleasant staff who are responsive to requests. Some good beers on tap. Lunch: standard pub fare. Average schnitzel $ 23 parmi $ 25 and ceasar salad. Lunch food = nothing special from our experience and similar to any pub bistro out there Dinner: Steak and fish dishes were more impressive than the above. Although I went to dinner here almost a year ago. 3 stars for the food +1 for the venue and views. Touch more expensive than similar venues.

Great location, fantastic views. Food is nice, fancy(not your normal pub menu and smaller servings) but nice. Over priced though for a pub, and that’s just it at the end of the day it’s still a pub. I’d go again for a few drinks but not to dine.

I had lunch here today and it was definitely a step up from standard pub food. The place was absolutely pumping with couples, families and screaming babies and I don’t know it’s the floors or what but my gosh it’s loud in there, I was straining to have a conversation! I had grilled garfish which was perfectly seasoned and fluffy, with lime aioli and a fresh salad: I was well impressed. My boyfriend’s teriyaki chicken breast and duck shank with risotto and mushrooms was pretty darn good too but his duck was little dry. The service was very good considering they were flat out and it was Sunday lunch, the prices were a little high but you get the quality you’re paying for. My daughter’s banana sundae tasted exactly like one of those banana lollies you buy, instead of an actual banana: while for her this was dissapointing, I think there’s a lot of people out there who would be pretty darn stoked with a banana lolly sundae.

The Grange Hotel is the perfect location for an afternoon schnitzel and offers some of the most amazing views of the Adelaide coastline and the beautiful ocean. The décor is very modern looking and the outdoors rooms have ample seating and are an amazing place for a Sunday sesh in the sun. There is quite a fancy restaurant and the less fancy, more bogan bar but each have their upsides. The restaurant has excellent food which is slightly overpriced but mostly worth it. Last time I was there, I had the orrichetti pasta with lamb backstrap, sun dried tomatoes all dripping in a pesto cream sauce with crushed pine nuts. YUM! It is also a great place for functions and has a large number of tables which can also cater for a large group booking even during normal lunch and dinner service. I have also seen several Christmas shows and romantic dinners, if that is the sort of thing you were after.

The Grange Hotel is awesome. That’s all there is to it. The Grange Hotel is complete with a fancy restaurant area, gaming facilites, bottleshop, function rooms and a pub area. My favourite is obviously the pub area. I’ve had lunch and dinner at the restaurant a couple of times with no complaints. The food has always been fresh and tasty. I’d recommend the fish! The prices are reasonable, especially for the amount of food you get(I actually couldn’t finish my plate). Now let’s talk about the pub area. I love pub food. What’s not to love? An ice cold beer, a burger and the current footy game playing on the big screen. The Chicken Ceaser burger is divine, give it a whirl and see what you’ve been missing out on.
