Terrible atmosphere, 10 minutes before we even got menus, 3 separate occasions being told something on the menu wasn’t available. served a half glass of wine and had to ask for it to be filled to the correct level. OMG… AVOIDATALLCOSTS!!! Edit: after dinner one of the staff approached us and explained their chef wasn’t in, and that they had only taken over management of the restaurant 3 weeks ago. They were very apologetic and said they had 2 new chefs starting soon. The wait staff were also very new. So I would give it another go in the future.

I’m really surprised that other people have written good reviews about The Crane. Our experience was well below average. Food wasn’t fresh and when pointed out the Sashimi looked dry and like it was plated up earlier and then placed in the fridge. The staff argued with us that it was fresh this morning. Yes perhaps it was when you made up the plate and put it in the fridge for service in the morning but by the time the evening service came around it wasn’t so fresh! The rice in the sushi had a sour taste and the servings were very small for the price. We ordered a bottle of wine and they took the bottle away with at least one glass still in the bottle. Overall, not impressed and won’t dine here again.

As I have found with the other sushi train in Glenelg, I’ve had better. The teppanyaki maybe good but the train de-railed. The rice was under-cooked in some of the sushi I had, and there wasn’t much to choose from. Most of the time we had to order out of the book. Most of it was bland for not cheap plates either. There was also flies, which were hanging around my friend, sort of funny :) The staff were not around much and didn’t seem that confident. They also took away two sushi plates before the final count, which did make it cheaper though. If you want good sushi go to sushi train.
