Moseley Square

Moseley square is sort of like the corso in manly. It’s surrounded by restaurants and bars and up the road shops ranging from tacky gift shops to chain clothes shops. Main reason for visiting the square for me is the grab some food and sit in the sun.
By day it’s a nice atmosphere with lots of family’s and people enjoying the weather, come nightfall it’s full of people that prefer their alcoholic beverages mixed with energy drinks and from cans.
It’s a nice area and a good place to bring friends visiting Adelaide!
It’s just a shame really that the prime real estate is given to two big chains cibo and McDonald’s.

I was here yesterday and I was a little shocked at what some of the girls were wearing, or not wearing rather. It was like a competition for who could wear the shortest shorts and keep a straight face whilst doing it, which must be a hard task with the seat of their shorts wedged that far up their ass.
There is a fountain in the middle where jets of water shoot up from the ground, a lot of children like to run around through this weird sprinkler system, its quite adorable.
I saw a drunken man stumbling in there a while back though, it seems he had had one too many at the Dublin… that’s not a shower, sir.
Fun for the kids, great for a drink and the girls actually ask you to stare at their rear asset.

Moseley Square is the place where you get off when you take the tram to Glenelg. It’s where the shopping strip ends and the beach begins, surrounded by restaurants and bars. You usually find your weirdos, skaters, cool kids and tourists lurking around here. It’s also a major site of the yearly City to Bay Fun Run and the Glenelg Jazz Festival. I think it looks fairly pretty with all the palms and the little water fountains and conveys some sort of holiday feeling. I’d recommend getting an outside table at one of the restaurants or pubs overlooking the square.

Moseley Square also leads straight to the Glenelg Jetty! Sometimes on summer evenings you can get some rather boistrous people in this area but there’s a good Police presence with a station pretty much right in the Square.
In addition to the events mentioned in the previous review they also have Beach Volleyball in this area adn in summer months they usually have market stalls here on a Sunday. Cool little home made type market stalls. Great for a browse or to ge something a little different to what you may find in shops.
Once they even had some weird event here where someone lived in a mostly glass box up a massiove tower and had to stay up there for days for some charity thing or world record or something stupid. I couldn’t believe how many people wanted to do it??? But it sure attracted a crowd to watch. Also the main festivities and entertainment of the New Years Eve show put on at Glenelg each year occurs in the Square, with the fireworks then off buildings and the jetty out over the ocean. It’s a great place to be at the Bay!
