Baja steak burritos is my pick… A flavor sensation your mouth is going to love! Lime rice adds just the right touch as your mouth runs wild with sensational bursts of salsa goodness and you’ll salivate at the smell of such a beast of a meal. Go solo with the one choice or add a side of mexicrinkles and you’ll never look at normal fries the same again. Colorful in color and tasty, the mexicrinkles make the prefect Mexican meal addition. Take a walk down to the beach or sit in company, just get your gob smacked around something from these oh-so-good-it-should-be-bad Mexican thrill givers

Let me set the scene for you. It’s 9pm New Years Eve at Glenelg… well I think enough said really hey? I was famished, all of the good restaurants were closed or it was $ 100 per head to go in and drink/eat all you can. The golden arches were a calling but I resisted not much of a temptation and was instead drawn to the spicy green and red lights across the road. «Give me all you got and stat!» I cried. Apparently that equated to a chicken and guac burrito with mexicrinkles(yes you did not read that wrong) and a Corona for $ 16.95. Well what a way to ring in the new year! My freshly heated burrito wrap was packed with spicy chicken and guac and not too much lettuce, my crinkle chips(I refuse to call them mexicrinkles again) were perfectly salty and spicy and the beer topped it off nicely. The atmosphere was clean and the layout was really cute with wooden boxes filled with cacti and industrial lighting in the venue. It has beautiful big windows opening out onto Jetty Rd so you can feel like part of the nightlife without getting abused by any of it. Overall if you need a quick fix meal that is reasonably priced, very fresh and reasonably healthy, this is a great option on Jetty Rd.

Where do you go for some cheapish vegan food in glenelg when The Annex is closed… ? I was at a loss, wandering down jetty road, there were plenty of expensive italian restaurants, which might have removed the cheese for me, but you get a bit over paying upwards of $ 20 for a cheesless napolitana. And then I saw Salsas! They had a mixed vege bowl for a reasonable price. And tables outdoors in the sun. I made it a combo and got a corona and chips. The Staff were friendly and when I asked if the bowl had dairy, she kindly traded out the rice(which had milk products) for lettuce. The mixed vege bowl was delicious, it was mainly beans and fried veggies and it was sooo good. It came with a few corn chips(not many if any really) but I was glad because I still had my hot chips to eat, and those were fantastic! Crinkly hot chips, cooked to perfection, crunchy but not overly so, and with a tangy spicy seasoning. My friend had a burrito and chip and found it equally as delicious. There’s no need to go broke at the bay, head to salsa, olé!

I wish there were more Salsa’s around Adelaide. One in the city please! This was my first time eating at Salsa’s and I loved it. I had the Veggie Packed Bowl. I don’t know what magic they used to make vegetables and rice taste this good! Would definitely get this one again. I also had a taste of the Baja steak burrito and this was also tasty.
