Fremantle is well known for being the inspirational playground for eclectic designers with an original flare for organic wares. Designer label Morrison is no different, except that they seem to be leading the fashion pack. With 11 stores across Australia and New Zealand, the fashion label, inspired by the creator’s faithful dog ‘Morrison’, has got the sleek and modern classic silhouette down pat. If you’re looking for a high quality silk top, organic linen harem pants or a calf skin leather vest that’s just light enough for summer, their flagship store in Fremantle is definitely worthy of a visit. Located just around the corner from the café strip, the store is made to look like a New York style loft, with high ceilings, red brick walls and street signs. In addition to their beautiful clothing, they also stock some wonderful leather goods, such as hand crafted belts, wallets and bags, as well as sterling silver bangles that would look great layered with any of their items. Staff are always super attentive but don’t pester you, and just like any good retailer in Fremantle they greet you politely as soon as you enter. Given that the items all boast an authentic organic fibre, the clothes here are quite expensive. Expect to pay $ 200 for a basic singlet top, and around $ 400 for skirts. I find all their items good quality, but I’ve had friends who’ve complained of that the price hardly fits the craftsmanship. I say pop in and decide for yourself.
