There’s something about the word«Asian», isn’t there? As in «Authentic Asian Cuisine»? It’s like saying«Authentic European Cuisine». What? Cuisine from where, exactly? Germany? France? Italy? Spain? And so it goes with the word«Asian»? Are we talking Thai or Vietnamese? Japanese or Chinese? And when we say«Chinese», what region, in particular, are we talking about? I’m being facetious, of course, but only a little. The problem with restaurants that promise some kind of pan-Asian cuisine is that they tend not to nail any specific Asian cuisine very well. Hence Han’s Pad Thai, for example, which doesn’t taste Thai at all. It tastes bland. I have explored the rest of the menu in detail, but without fail the few things that I have had have been pale imitations of equivalent dishes ordered from restaurants that choose a cuisine and stick with it.
