We were regulars of the Globe when we lived in Sydney 5 years ago. This week we returned to the memories of delicious breakfast and we loved it again. Great coffee, great atmosphere(eastern beaches café), really good service and fantastic breakfast(Chorizo special, Chef’s special). With so many new options around Coogee it is hard to decide where to go out for breakfast– for us we’ll stick to the good old Globe this whole week.

The food was amazing and our service was pretty good too. I had the banana smoothie and think I can die happy now. You have to try it. I ordered the scramble special and everything that came to our table looked amazing. I think it’s cash only so I had to go to the bank but there are a few nearby. The portions were a good size and you could just have the smoothie and be full without a meal.

Globe was my final dining destination during my weekend in Coogee and it was good. Nothing fancy, just good. There is a large menu to choose from with all dishes having slight variances so you can typically find something to cater to your cravings. Service could be improved(i.e. wouldn’t hurt to flash a smile every now and again) but food and beverages came out quickly and the food was tasty. It was nice to sit on the street and watch the world go past, but there is also the option of sitting inside if that’s the way you roll. Oh, and thanks for the free biscuit :)

We were drawn to this place from decent reviews on Unilocal but sorely disappointed. I’d seen a couple people on here mention the rudeness of the wait staff, but brushed it off thinking it must’ve been situational and the food looked good enough to get over it. Wrong! The entire vibe of those working there was absolutely awful. They were all scowling the whole time, almost throwing our coffees and food onto our tables, and never responding to any«thank you!“s or smiles from us, though we tried. The restaurant looks like it’s been there forever, and I doubt any review will ever inhibit the inevitable business they gain purely from foot traffic near to the beach, but any place that is as unkept as that one with rude-rude-rude staff, at least needs to be called out. Be warned any empaths who are considering breakfast there: You may walk out in a pretty bad mood(we both did). Sadly also the food was underwhelming(not nearly enough to compensate) and the coffee was bad enough to not finish our flat whites(and that’s a big thing for us coffee addicts). We’re not wingers normally, so it’s tough to write, but this place needs a big attitude adjustment. Bummer, Globe! A smile would go a long way for you guys!

The smoothies and milkshakes here are excellent and a must try. Breakfast is so excellent here — Pancakes, French toast, eggs — they’re all cooked to perfection, decent servings and of course delicious with fresh ingredients. Grab a seat at the table outside if you can and sit down, relax and people watch. Yes a little expensive for a brekky but that’s Sydney, at least it’s good quality!

First, let me get something out of the way: I LOVED the food here. My chicken sandwich was huge and could barely fit into my hands(had to eat half of it with a fork and knife) and the banana smoothie was possibly the best banana smoothie I’ve ever had: super thick and full of honey, perfection. However, I’m not going to give this place a higher rating, simply because staff was quite rude to us. They did not serve us with a smile and the service was overall quite poor, not very pleasant for a first time experience at a café, especially when so many cafes in Sydney have excellent customer service. However, I’d certainly go back at least to get that smoothie again, even if just take away!

On a Sunday morning what better thing to do then meet friends, eat whatever you want on the menu and drink coffee … Sounds good right? Well if you want to do this in a friendly and warm atmosphere then I’d avoid globe café. The café itself is really nice and in the perfect location however service with a smile is not something I was provided here I understand that working on a Sunday morning might not be something to smile about however the staff here were rude and had no concept of customer service. The food is good I will admit and ending on a semi positive note for my first review I would return, but I’d order take away !

A phenomenal breakfast and lunch establishment! This past semester I lived on Coogee Bay Road and by the end of my time in Australia I lost count of how many times I ate here(not including the amount of skinny caps I stopped in for) The eggs Benedict is phenomenal however you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu(I suggest the BLT on focaccia), as every meal is extremely fresh, delicious and beautifully presented! The wait staff is always accommodating and friendly. by the end of the semester they even had my name and order down to a t!

The Globe Café is yet another coffee shop amongst the swarm of Coogee Bay Road. I basically went there to obtain a sugar and caffine rush. This was successfully achieved by eating a delicious chocolate brownie, which was great, not too cakey and featuring big gooey chocolatey bits, exactly how I like them. I washed my slab of brownie down with an iced chocolate, which was probably a mistake, don’t get me wrong it was very good, but all that milk and cream on top of the brownie made me feel like I could have rolled out of the place. I do tend to be be a bit of a gluton and wolf yummy things down too fast, but it was worth it.

The Globe is considered as famous in Coogee as it’s namesake was in England circa 1500. Yet, there’s nothing Shakespearean about the simple, delicious food and the only drama here is what is served on your plate. Weekend. Hungry. See an opening and run for it. The bench seat out the front is very popular, you see. And… Score! I got the papers and ordered coffee(I need a large) and settle in to people watch. There’s some good sorts in this part of town let me tell you! I ordered the«love eggs», which comprised of poached eggs, spinach, avocado, tomato salsa and a creamy mayo squeezed all over. I told you the drama was on your plate. Delicious. The coffee? Sufficiently huge. Have a little patience here as it can get busy. I always order a second coffee just as I am finishing up my first to avoid a long stretch between drinks. What will surprise you is the servings. Massive. And for lunch, try the Globe Salad. It’s not famous for nothing!
