10am Sunday morning on Coogee Bay Road — the bf and I haven’t eaten here yet so thought we would give it a go. We sat out on the path and we were asked for a coffee order very quickly, the drinks were soon to follow(good ones I might add). I ordered breakfast bruschetta which was cooked well and I appreciated the spinach that came with it. The tomato relish was surprisingly spicy and not my ‘cup of tea’. Bf had the breakfast burger which was a decent size and looked really good. Short and sweet stay, nothing outstanding about this café but I would definitely come back if I wanted a quick feed!

A regular here. Always great service coffee is always perfect and the menu accommodates for all different types of taste buds. Ambiance is perfect especially during the warmer days. Have a go you will love it.

Coogee Café is a nice place to sit. The sea breeze meanders through the open bay windows. Or choose street seats, the sun glaring down on you. The menu is much like most café’s, with some variations to piqué interest. Some Spanish breakfast options and a New York Reuben Sandwich for example. I went to have a solo Breakfast, something I enjoy immensely. Get the paper and have a relaxing morning to myself. An order of poached eggs with avo and bacon came out in a timely fashion and the coffee was solid. I ordered two. After breakfast was served and eaten and coffee drunk, it was hard to get the waiter’s attention. All I wanted was some water as it seemed everyone else had it except for me. Nigh off shouting, I eventually had the waitresses focus and water at my table. Then I wanted the bill which again, no glances my way for ten minutes which propelled me to the counter. Two coffees, breakfast and $ 28 dollars later, I was leaving the café pondering, «was that really worth it?»

Part of what makes a café worth visiting and revisiting for me is the atmosphere. I am tolk speaking of tables and chairs, or how recently the establishment has been renovated, but rather the energy in the place, this energy is created by the people and when you go somewhere, where the staff are having fun, it relaxes me and makes me feel comfortable. This is what I experienced at the Coogee Café. I don’t mean to say that the place didn’t look nice, but the staff were friendly and provided good service, while clearly enjoying each others company as well. I just had a cappuccino, which was great, but it does not leave me a whole lot to review regarding food or drink, but It was an environement I enjoyed a lot and you don’t get that everywhere.
