PUMPS is a full-size fitness center exclusively for women where the primary focus is getting women results. Our «life changing» Pro-Fitness Program™ (our member’s words, not ours) along with our Women Training Fearlessly (WTF) small group training program have been implemented and designed specifically for that purpose. We also offer an extraordinary Group X program (2 full size studios) that is under the direction of industry legend Dina Metrano (she is a legend, just ask her). In addition to offering the absolute most extensive circuit training, free weight, and cardio selection a women’s only club has ever seen, PUMPS sets forth an experience, culture and attitude unparalleled in today’s fitness industry. History
Established in 2009.
PUMPS was founded by two 25 year club industry veterans (dinosaurs?) who entered into the fitness industry in 1988. Al Tassel (the short verbose one with the beard and slick backed hair) and Glenn Anthony (the tall, handsome, quiet one who is seen as often as the Sasquatch), owned and operated 3 franchised coed clubs that offered the same amenities and features typical of most coed clubs. After several years of detailed analysis (they used their eyes and ears) they began to see and understand the demand for women’s only workout spaces within their coed clubs. Many women were simply uncomfortable exercising in a coed environment and wanted a facility, or at the very least an adequate space, where they could exercise comfortably and not have to deal with some of the «issues» associated with sharing a space with men.
