You MUST go to Maria’s Bridal Couture! Nadica made my bridal dreams come true! She was professional, made me & my family/​friends feel welcome & comfortable, the store is kept clean & is decorated beautifully & everyone was just an absolute joy to work with!
I had probably been to 5 – 7 other Bridal shops before I went to Maria’s, in my mind I had a vision that I wanted a fully beaded bodice and tight trumpet skirt. I was not finding what I wanted anywhere else in my price range. I showed Nadica a few photos of dresses that I had tried on at other stores and she immediately pulled a fully beaded bodice with a trumpet skirt without me even telling her it was my dream dress. While in the dressing room, it was the first dress I tried on and before it was on she told me, «this is your dress», when I put it on I started to cry — none of the other dresses I had tried on made me cry. She was right, it was «the one», I was having my bridal moment! I don’t even remember the price of the dress originally but she knew my budget & said she would make it work & she did!
I cant just make a huge purchase without doing a little research, so I called other stores in IL and OH to make sure I was getting a good deal, when I told both stores the price I was offered they all said «Buy it».
I was stupid and went and got breast implants after I was already sized for my dress, when it came in my dress zipped by my bust, but was much too revealing for a classy bride. Nadica immediately came up with a solution and they actually sowed a belt onto the top part of my dress to cover me up more, it came out so beautifully that l liked it better! She turned a bridal mishap into a bridal blessing! Her staff was professional and helpful and you really got the sense that everyone is there to make you happy. Thank you for everything Nadica! We love you & wish you the best at your new Birmingham store!

I just had an amazing experience at Maria’s Bridal Couture. Deena helped me find my PERFECT wedding dress today. She made me feel comfortable the whole time, paid attention to what I was looking for and made suggestions of different dresses I might be interested in, and was just so nice in general. The one on one attention I received with my mom, sister, and future mother-​in-​law from Deena was icing on the cake. Other bridal shops will have 1 consultant working with a couple of different groups, but not here and I really really appreciated that. I let her know what my budget was and she respected it fully. This day of wedding dress shopping made me feel so special and Maria’s Bridal Couture is a big reason why I felt so special. Any bride thinking about going here should because you won’t be upset that you did!!!

Many thanks to Nadica for helping me get the perfect dress! She gave me great advice about accessories and did a wonderful job with alterations. Everyone loved the dress and my groom was thrilled. On top of it all, Nadica worked with me to find a dress in my very limited budget. I called several shops before calling her, and none of them had anything under $ 1000. When I called Nadica she told me she had some designer gowns that were discontinued and worked with me to find an incredible dress for and incredible price. Thank you so much for being a part of making our wedding so wonderful!

Let me start by saying that I did not end up purchasing my dress from Maria’s. However, I had a great experience with Dina (Deena? Sorry! She did not have a business card!). When we walked in I was initially worried b/​c Dina seemed so young and we were asked to choose from photos of dresses in a binder instead of looking at gowns on the floor. However, Dina pulled the first four dresses from my selection and from there very quickly picked up on what I liked and was reacting to, and chose some really beautiful gowns on her own. Don’t be fooled by her age; she is informed and understands and listens to her clientele. She then pulled a gorgeous dress that I was very excited about. Dina offered me the same-​day 10% off discount if I were to buy the dress that day, or even carry that over until the following Monday, since she knew I was traveling back to Chicago the next day. Ultimately, the dress ended up being a little more than I was comfortable spending and I found a better option for myself elsewhere. Overall, I had a great experience at Maria’s and with Dina. Thank you!

it’s typically an experience rough.
At Maria’s, I felt relaxed as can be.
The shop was clean and serene.
Naditza is sweet
to work with, a treat.
As for the gown — wowee!
Full disclosure: I caught a Black Friday deal.
And for my get-​up, it was truly a steal:
all alterations included
with nothing precluded
I honestly could not believe this was for real.
Gown, boustier, and belt,
all high-​quality, I felt.
Add a veil to be had
and I was set to be wed,
and my groom was ready to melt!

Naditza (hope I spelled her name right) is so wonderful. I had gone to other bridal stores, but felt they weren’t really helping me find the right dress. I tried on so many styles that didn’t flatter my figure at all. I came in here with my mom and sister about 8 months before my wedding day. I tried on 2 dresses, and that was it. My dress was an Ian Stuart design; she is the only one who carried the line in Michigan at the time. I absolutely loved it, but it felt like it was missing something. While I was staring at the dress, she came up and wrapped a Vera Wang sash around my waist… I said «yes to the dress» immediately after. Everything was done professionally, but she made me feel so comfortable, as if I was a close friend. I recommend stopping in if you’re dress shopping. They now sell evening wear too, which I’m excited about! I’ll have to go back and shop for upcoming parties just to work with this great team again.

I’ve just begun my wedding planning process and this was my first time trying on dresses. So of course I had no idea what to expect and honestly was anticipating the worst. Boy was I wrong! I had previously set an appointment with Naditza and she was very pleasant over the phone. The day of my appointment I was assisted by Mary. She was GREAT the entire time! Very pleasant & friendly to me, my maid of honor, mother, & sister. I had a style in mind and Mary did great at picking gowns based on what I explained & showed her & she helped me into every gown and I must have tried on about 7. We had her undivided attention and She even gave nice suggestions as far as veils, tiaras, & added bling. I did not purchase today BUT I did find the gown I want. Fell in love with it (even tried it on a second time!) I don’t even want to try any other gowns now. And an added bonus is the gown, to be so gorgeous & detailed, fell way below my budget which is music to me & my fiances ears! They have very nice gowns and the salon setup is very welcoming. I plan on going back to purchase my gown here. From the time we entered to the moment we left the experience was great-​especially for myself, an unsure first timer. I look forward to going back… will definitely review again further into the process.

I loved every single minute of my experience here. I was not very «bridey» and Naditza (sp) was so accommodating, so sweet, so patient, so wonderful. I loved her so much I wanted to hire her as my maid of honor. She truly changed my entire wedding experience. She was the first person that actually made me feel like a BRIDE– even if it was my version of bride. I wish I could give more stars. I have since told friends not to bother going anywhere else for their dress. Love this store. Love the dresses. 5 stars doesn’t do it justice.

Maria’s Bridal is the most incompetent business I have ever come across. The entire staff, english speakers and non, has horrible communication skils, let alone an ancient computer program which accounts for the majority of the problems customers experience [i.e. not ordered on time, not delivered on time, wrong size ordered, etc]. Not a single experience was enjoyable, there was always a problem to resolve before getting to the original problem. The only reason I purchased from this store was because of the price compared to another location. I would never recommend and never return to this place for business for any reason. I hope our strained economy buries this business for good.

The dress I purchased here was gorgeous.
The rest of my experience was iffy.
I made 3 trips here for alterations. Each time I went in, the dress was too big and there wasn’t much done to remedy the situation. I could fit my arm down the front of the dress. The final pickup, I could fit my fist into the chest of the dress. They eventually fixed it, but they tried to convince me that it fit OK, and that it was fine that there was a gapping space between me and the dress.
They also tried to up-​sell me a boustier (sp) from the one I was looking at. The one they were up-​selling me was 80, while the one I was looking at was 30. The one the were trying to up-​sell me was VISIBLE THROUGH MY DRESS. They told me no one would notice. Uh, I would notice if I could see the brides fucking bra through her dress.
Overall it was an OK experience, but I would get my alterations elsewhere.

While I did not order my gown here, I had my alterations done at this salon. From what I saw, they have a wonderful selection of dresses– and I wish I would have shopped there.
Anyway, I found the store online and scheduled an appointment for my alterations. I arrived 15 minutes early (with my sister for her alterations) and ended up waiting over an hour to see the seamstress. It wasn’t a big deal, but I had other things to do that day.
The alterations I needed were complex. The dress was a Nicole Miller with an intricate back (style FA006) — it needed to go in some places, out in others… The moment I walked out of the dressing room I could see the seamstress sizing me up. The salon was packed with brides to be, some of the girl’s were definite bridezilla’s (one was having a tantrum because she forgot her petticoat at home and refused to use the one the store had one hand. Her mother had to buy her a new one at the cost of $ 150). Anyway, I explained to the seamstress in my calmest most confident voice I knew this was a difficult job– but this was my dress, and even if the alterations didn’t look great– I just needed it to fit decently. She circled me, shaking her head. I think the owner then came over and started trying to figure something out. I felt a little like a freak on a platform in front of 15 strangers with these women shaking their heads. Finally, they agreed to attempt to do the alterations. I thanked her, walked out to the car, and cried — I think the owner and seamstress were being extra negative because they were unsure how I would react if the dress wasn’t what I expected. I knew buying my dress off of ebay would was a risk– but saving $ 950 made it worth it.
A few weeks later, I went to get my dress– again, I waited over forty minutes. Not a big deal, but my mom’s impatient so it was incredibly unpleasant. I’m going to add I was not living in the area at the time, so both my appointments were on Saturday. Saturday is likely the busiest day of the week.
When we were able to get into a room, I tried my dress on– it was perfect. It fit perfectly, and I couldn’t tell where she changed things. It was amazing work, and I am very grateful. She also added a simple bustle– loved it.
So to wrap it up–
— This shop is incredibly busy– so be patient.
–If you value your privacy– visit on a slow day during the week. Saturday’s are crazy
–The alterations are worth every penny.

I’m from Freeland, MI, I live in Seattle, WA, and I’m getting married in Petoskey, MI. And I found my dress here, at Maria’s Bridal, in Rochester, MI.
I had a wonderful experience at Maria’s. I went in with my mother and soon-​to-​be-​mother-​in-​law (that alone was amazing, I love both of them so much and was thrilled we could all go together, it was SO fun!!). This was the second store I visited.
I am a researcher. If I’m going to fork over a bunch of money, I like to be prepared, that way I don’t buy something too expensive on impulse. So I came into the store with a list of about 30 dresses by 2 designers that I liked and knew I could afford. I asked to try on all the dresses from my list that they had on hand in the store (ended up being about 11).
The 3 of us walked through the racks of wedding gowns and found about 10 others that looked good. The dresses I picked were pulled very quickly, so I was able to get started right away. So into the dressing room I go.
**By the way, Maria’s is in a building that used to be a library and it’s gorgeous! Exposed wood beams on the ceiling, very open and airy. Not too crowded or stuffy.
I should also mention that we went in on a Thursday morning and I had an appointment. The saleswoman who helped me was great, her name is Sherry. She helped me put each dress on, clipped them so they would stay on, and helped me get out of them. She offered some advice, but was NOT pushy, and she never tried to up-​sell me. She was also very friendly (in genuine way) with the 2 moms. Even though I went over my appointment time, Sherry was SO patient. I must have apologized a dozen times, but she just laughed and said «Don’t worry, I’m having fun!» When I was torn between 2 dresses I loved, Sherry allowed me to try them each on about 5 more times. She never rushed me. She could have easily nudged me toward the (way) more expensive dress, but she didn’t. She let me decide on my own.
I am so grateful that I had a relaxing, pleasant experience — I have heard horror stories about women who have received sub-​par treatment/​service while wedding dress shopping. 5 stars!
