I was very nervous based on some of the reviews, but I had a positive experience. The dress I purchased was way too big based on the recommendation of the sales person. The recommendation was made because I am busty and even though my waistline was going to drop, they knew I wanted coverage up top and I needed the fabric to be there. I ordered a 12 and was wearing 4’s by the time it came in. I was freaking out. I thought the detail of the dress would be compromised by taking it in so much. They did a BEAUTIFUL job with alterations. The owner kept me calm and ensured me they would make it fit beautifully, and every time I was unsure of something promised they would make it how I wanted it. Clara, the seamstress, was a miracle worker. I had 3 fittings and at the final one I wanted the V in my dress to be less deep. She stitched on some lace from my dress scraps on the spot and it was perfect.
For a bride looking for a huge selection, this may not be the right place. I had looked for months though already, and didn’t mind stopping in one more place. They had the perfect dress for me. I highly recommend Bella Bridal for anyone to at least try out. The dresses they do have are stunning. Further, they have a wide range of prices. Gorgeous gowns for 5k, but my dress was only 1300. Also, they give you 15% off if you buy your dress the first day you come in, so keep that in mind if have been shopping for a while.

Awful experience!!! This boutique made me so upset today. I made an appointment months ago via phone for a trunk show. When I showed up they said I did not have an appointment and were not willing to work with me. I had people travel from windsor for this appointment and was looking forward to it for two months now. In a rude manner the owner said that they have two more appointments, all the rooms were taken and that they were closing soon. I was appalled at how rude she was being… this was supposed to be such a special experience for me. I would never go back there and never recommend this business to anyone. I still cannot believe how poorly I was treated. They essentially conveyed that they did not care for nor want my business. I don’t know a business can operate like that.

They contacted Unilocal to remove my last review because it didn’t have enough detail about my experience, so here we go. I went in for my appointment and was greeted by a young lady that seemed very nice. The older lady there didn’t say much, later I find out that’s her business. They made me sign a form that you can’t take photos and can only come in to try on dresses twice and the older lady said to me exactly, «because if by then you’ve tried them on twice and still haven’t purchased then there is no need». I explained I’m by myself and my family lives far and it’s very difficult for me to work around that. They said no photos because of contracts with the designers, but I beg to differ because I’ve tried these gowns on and have pics in them from other boutiques and this place hikes up the price ridiculously high. They then snarked at my budget of 1500 and said they don’t really work with that when On the phone Gabriel said they had a few things in that budget to work with. They pulled out dresses and told me this is what I could get with my budget and that they’re not very nice gowns. So my budget isn’t good enough for them. They wouldn’t let me see bridesmaid dresses because I didn’t buy a gown from them. Insulted, I said this isn’t going to work for me, and I left humiliated. I called to speak to the owner And Gabriel answered saying he’s the owner, and went completely off on me. He said that they don’t deal with people like me or my kind, that my budget is not what they work with, and that he’s taking me to court for interrupting him at work. I’ve never been more insulted in my life. Stay away, they ruined my entire wedding dress experience.

Staff is nice, boutique and dress selection are nice. But beware of prices here when giving your «budget» they force you to provide. They gave us a price that seemed too expensive for the designer because I had a rather high budget. After finding a gorgeous dress, I called another boutique that sold the same dress and the price Bella quoted us was literally $ 1,000 more than the price the other boutique gave us!!! Also, they made it seem impossible to make an appointment (I called many times and they finally «squeezed» me in a time slot after explaining to them I was on a time crunch) and while I was there for my appointment there were at least 4 other consultants just standing around while we were there and no other brides there in the store.

Disappointed. The selection was minimal — very tiny boutique. They didn’t have anything I was looking for. The trunk show consisted of one small rack of dresses from Sophia Tolli. The consultant told me the dress I was looking for was an old dress, but later contradicted herself and said the style was ahead of fashion? I ended up finding the exact style somewhere else. Also, my bridesmaids were not allowed to try on dresses unless I bought my wedding dress from them. Bad business if you ask me. The only benefit to this shop was that the employees were very nice and welcoming.

STAY AWAY!!! Horrible shop. Extremely rude. Went in to see if they sold bridesmaids dresses, but their bridesmaid dresses are «exclusive to brides only». So I started browse around the shop looking for a gown for myself and was told I could not look around because it is «by appointment only». The shop was completely empty so I’m not sure what harm I was doing by quickly browsing for a dress I may be interested in. All of the styles were very ugly and cheap looking anyways. Would NOT recommend, VERY rude staff. Have been to many other bridal boutiques and have never encountered this type of service.

Unfortunately, I have a similar experience to a lot of reviews on here. I bought the dress and had a great experience, they measured me suggested a size and I agreed. The dress even came in early. However, the dress was way too big and needed $ 600 in alterations. I agreed because I didn’t know any better and came in for fittings. At first the fittings weren’t great, the dress was still way too big and they acted like I was an inconvenience to fix. I wrote a review on a different website and I get an email stating the business was trying to pull down the review. I told the website not to disclose who I was because I was still doing business with them but as I will get to they knew it was me (not happy with that website either). After that review I noticed the owner was there and they were much nicer. I thought everything was going well, I still wanted the corset wider but they assured me it fit correctly and I signed and picked up my dress. On my wedding day several people noticed the dress was too big. I wrote them an email with pictures about how disappointed I was and received a not so nice email back accusing me of defacing their business, wasn’t happy about my review, and that the dress was laced up wrong and I was no longer allowed to contact them. They even accused me of telling a bride not to buy a veil there (she asked about mine and I told her I made it and I learned how on Pinterest). I never asked for my money back just told them about my experience. The dress may have not been laced up perfectly but a corset shouldn’t be touching. I should have fought more for what I wanted, I trusted what they were saying and I signed for the dress so that is my fault however I do not agree with the way they handled it. A good business should want to hear about all of their bride’s experiences, good or bad. I just wish I would have seen the other negative reviews before…

I found the dress of my dreams there, but was not happy with the alterations to the dress. There was a puckering in the seam, but every time I asked about it, they assured me it would iron out. When I put it on for the wedding, The pucker was still there and it was about 2 inches too long. The alterations were expensive and certainly not up to par.

The alterations are EXTREMELY over priced. My consultant was great but the owner is extremely rude when I had concerns with the alteration cost. Which was almost 50% of the price of the dress. After the owner tried to scare me into doing the alterations with them I took the dress to another salon and they did a wonderful job for half the price Bella was trying to charge me.
They also wanted the alterations in cash. There are tons of salons in the metro area. Save some cash and go somewhere else! :)

Biggest rip off ever! I bought my dress from there off the rack the store still has the dress my wedding was cancelled and they would not refund anything. I get it’s policy but they should help people out sometimes especially since the dress never left the store! Plus their alterations and hella high! Do yourselves a favor and don’t go there.

I had an amazing experience at this bridal shop.
I found a dress online, found the designer and then found local shops that carried the designer. I called all 3 shops and Bella Bridal Gallery was the only shop that offered to call their supplier to see if they could find this specific dress.
It didn’t even cross my mind that hunting down a dress was an option outside of having it or not having it in stock.
They gave me a timeframe of when they would be contacting me back. They stayed true to their word and called me a few days later to say YES they found it and could bring it in (at a fee for shipping). I said absolutely.
When my dress came in a few days before my appt they called to let me know it arrived. When I went in for my appt. We decided to pull 4 or 5 other dresses for me to try on before my ordered sample. I tried on some beautiful dresses. But when I tried on the dress they so kindly hunted down for me… I had the moment when I just knew that this was the dress.
The staff was so helpful and complimentary. This is a smaller more intimate boutique which I loved because I never felt overwhelmed. I had a great experience and HIGHLY recommend this bridal shop. They went above and beyond for me.

THE WORST COSTUMER SERVICE!!!
What was suppose to be a perfect sister bonding, was a horrible experience!
As soon as we walked into the place my sister showed the ladies what she was looking for, when she showed them a picture they without a second said «we dont have that here its next door to Maria’s bridal» … My sister didnt think anything of it until we started picking other dresses that they had there. I grabbed a beautiful gown to show her and one of the ladies said «Oh thats too expensive for your budget»… Without even showing us something similar of both circumstances. We felt underclass and not wanted there at all. Needless to say my sister never gets upset over anything.
We decided to leave due to it being such an awful experience… Shortly i called to speak to the owner and let him hear what we had to say … this is the best part he basically told us «Never to return again» without feeling any remorse to the situation. He didnt even want to hear what happened, even though he was not present at the time.
The only best part about this is that we were sent to Maria’s!

This is a sad review for me to write — my mom was very excited to bring me to this salon and thought I would find *the dress* here. I came in knowing the idea of what I wanted and I believe I am a very gracious customer. However, I was treated second-class.
First, I want to say when I finally did work with the bridal consultant — Heather — she was AWESOME. She gave her full attention to the bride she was working with, asked questions, and was very friendly and supportive. I really enjoyed working with Heather and I do not want this review to reflect on her, because she rocks.
So back to my experience… I arrived on time for my appointment and was greeted by the owner. She helped me pull some dresses, and within fifteen minutes (I had gone through other stores to try on the gamut) I was ready to go. At this point, the owner asked me to sit and let the current bride «have her time.» What? I was on time for my appointment. I then started to take in the scene.
This place was set up for AT LEAST 2 brides to be going at once (as many stores are), however she had the 2 other consultants in the back stay there instead of assisting me. Why you might ask? Well the bride in front of me was buying one of their most expensive dresses so the owner stood and presided over the happenings (like a boarding school teacher) and let the consultant do all of the work. She literally made me wait because there were richer people buying dresses. No, I am not rich — but I have saved every penny to buy the dress i have dreamed of. It was a painful almost twenty minutes waiting around and knowing I was not a priority customer for them at all.
To be honest, they have very nice dresses. I was between one there and the dress I bought — and I looked at my mother and said «I would not be happy going to that salon for fittings.» Who wants to give their saved-up money to a salon that made you feel as if you did not matter? The salon is important, they make or break the experience.
Bella Brdial, I hope you find it in your hearts to begin to treat all brides as if they are the star — not just the ones with larger pocketbooks.

I have to agree with Nicole S. I was not a bride, so maybe that explains the vast discrepancy between our experiences and those of other reviewers, but I found the service at Bella Bridal to be absymal. Not only was I misinformed twice over the phone about the availability of the dress in store, but the staff were condescending, rude, and didn’t offer any apology. I consider myself very relaxed and undemanding, and I was counting on this being an enjoyable experience with fellow bridesmaids. I’ve never had such an experience or been treated in such a way anywhere. I would even go so far as to say they treated me and the other bridesmaids with undisguised disdain, and treated our reasonable requests to see and try on the dresses with contempt. They were so unprofessional to even discuss what they assumed was our lack of experience being in weddings (not true– one of us was recently a bride) with a friend who came with us while we were in another part of the store.
We ordered our dresses (really, what choice did we have?) and arranged to have one person pick them up when they arrived. We were told that would not be a problem. Unfortunately, when the time came to pick up the dresses, apparently no one made a note of this arrangement. Once again, they did not acknowledge or take any responsibility for their part in the miscommunication, insinuated that we made it up and they wouldn’t have allowed such a thing in the first place. Getting the dresses took 2 hours of alternately haggling and waiting.
I see good reviews from brides regarding their experiences at this store, but I find their manner when dealing with customers who have no choice in where they shop (and the dismissive response to Nicole S.) very telling about the true nature of their service philosophy. Maybe this is the place to go to buy your wedding gown, but unless you want being in your wedding to be a degrading experience for friends and family, find your bridesmaids’ dresses elsewhere. But bride or bridesmaid, they’ve lost our business for good.

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at Bella. It was the second place I went to find my wedding dress. If I didn’t have the first place to compare Bella to, I don’t know if I’d have appreciated it so much. The first place I went to had outrageous prices and a very limited selection. I felt rushed, I felt out of my league… I felt overwhelmed with a fear that my life savings would go into this dress! Plus, the staff was very snooty and rather pushy. Not a combo you want when you’re dropping the big bucks. You want to feel good about what you’re doing, not like you’re buying into something.
Then I went to Bella. I walked in and was immediately greeted by their friendly staff. They didn’t shoot the 20 questions at me, there wasn’t a quiz of: Where’s your wedding? How big is it? What’s your colors? Nope. And I loved that. They let me chose MY dress. They let me just walk right up and point at the ones I wanted to try. The other place tried to dictate their taste to me. That didn’t work. I know what I like, I have my own distinct taste. So getting to go and pick dresses from the rack was amazing.
They have many dresses to try and the ladies there are so very helpful! I got my dress for a very good price. It was just what I’d hoped for. Not only were they supportive in my dress hunt, but they continued to be helpful every step of the way.
They invited me to a jewelry trunk show where I got a gorgeous necklace, earrings and bracelet. Also, both the initial and final dress fittings were a breeze. They really made it all very easy and were very professional and kind. It was evident by the way they treated me that they are genuinely happy for their brides. You can tell they just beam with pride. They have good reason, their dresses are beautiful and reasonable and their staff is nothing but the best. I can’t say enough.
The only slight surprise was the 195 «alteration» fee just for bustling my dress. I don’t know if that’s normal, but it seemed steep. Then we came back and the seamstress had done such a fantastic job with it, I felt it was worth every penny.
All in all, I highly recommend Bella. They will make you feel like a princess! …I didn’t even think that was my thing, but boy it felt really good!

In response to Bella Bridal’s response, you’re right, I was not a real customer — I was a potential customer. After the way I was treated, I will never be a real customer, nor will any of my family and friends who live in the West Bloomfield area (my Mom confirmed the same treatment when she visited the store).
I was not told that there was a Trunk Show, and to be honest, I doubt there was. There were no customers in the store at the time of our arrival. I had one small request to look at (not try on) a dress, and apparently that was asking for too much. It’s a good thing that another local boutique was much more accommodating and therefore, has our business from now on.

I agree with Katie H., the only bad thing is how much they charge for alterations. But I am lazy and didn’t want to take my dress anywhere else, so I left it there and paid for alterations because of convenience. Also, the last payment for alterations had to be in cash, which is always annoying.
When looking for wedding dresses, I had a hard time finding places that didn’t hold normal business hours during the weekday. I have to work during the week, and my weekends were busy. On Thursdays and Fridays, they are open till 8pm so my mom and I dropped in on a Friday. Pulling up to the store, I was scared. It was prom season and in the window was a neon green, poofy, bedazzled dress. However, they have a TON of different dresses. The saleslady was very patient with me and that day I decided on a lovely, simple lace gown.
The dress came in early and every time I visited it, Sonya (the owner) was there and knew my name. She is sooo friendly and wants to make sure her customers are happy. I had two or three fittings and also got my shoes there (which they dyed to match the dress).
They also have a wide range of bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride dresses, and some jewelry. Very nice place!

4.5 stars really. The only bad things are that they charge a lot for alterations (I needed only a ½ inch hem and cups put in and they charged me $ 195) and they won’t let you take pictures of the dress until you buy it, which a lot of salons do.
This is the only place I tried on wedding dresses. I tried on about 30 dresses and the sales person was so patient and helpful. I narrowed it down to 3 and then 2, and then pretty much settled on my dress. I can back with my mom the next day and bought the dress.
I came back for a fitting when the dress came in, and then again to make sure it was okay and pick it up. Every time, the service was fantastic. They were also really understanding when I rescheduled appointments or was late.
they have a great selection of dresses at all price ranges, including some that aren’t all bedazzled and poofy, which is what I wanted. I ended up paying $ 600 for my dress and I loved it.
