East Bay Shuttle

I normally use a limo service (town car) but I was looking to save a few dollars — I found this service which was rated pretty well on Unilocal and a few dollars less than the service I normally use — though it was only a little less (mainly because a mandatory 18% tip was not included which I do not like — I prefer to tip cash at the end based on service quality). Because it was almost the same price I was expecting a town car with a professional driver. Instead we got a mini-​van (with ‘East Bay Shuttle’ plastered all over the van) and a driver wearing sweats and a sweatshirt.
Pluses were that they called to confirm the day before and the driver showed up on time. Booking was easy on line.
Minuses:
— They had to process payment before we left though I’d given my credit card information when I made the reservation. This was a problem because there is limited cell phone reception where we live so we had to detour to find an area with adequate reception so that he could pull over and process the card. The driver was very frustrated and worried that he was going to get in trouble for starting to drive without processing the card and we were upset about the delay and hassle.
— Drivers skills were very poor — e.g. erratic, tailgated, changed lanes based only on mirror (which almost caused an accident). We did not feel safe at all. These drivers should be screened and trained (try Smith Driving).
I am going back to my other service when I need airport transportation. On our return we used BART and Über which worked great. I think Über is going to put some of these services out of business.

Used the East Bay shuttle for a pick up from our home and drop off at the airport. Our driver arrived early and let us know she was outside but did not hurry us at all. She was friendly and courteous and helpful. Her driving in San Francisco traffic was excellent and we arrived on time and safely at the airport. I will definitely use them again.

I would normally take BART to the airport. However, BART did not run early enough on Saturday morning for my flight. I called East Bay Shuttle. The driver was on time, early actually. The vehicle was clean, comfortable. The driver was pleasant and courteous. The ride was safe and uneventful (I am a professional driver). I will definitely use East Bay Shuttle the next time the need arises.

On time, helpful with bags, prices are competitive. I’ve used them twice to and from Oakland airport (from Danville) and been very pleased.

Recently moved to the East Bay, we have tried two companies so far to SFO. Booking is very easy and the response is fast. This company picked us on time, and the vehicles are new, clean and comfortable. Drivers we had were very courteous. We will use them again.

This was my first time using East Bay Shuttle and I had a great experience. First I was able to book it online, then we received a confirmation call that everything was scheduled. When my flight got delayed and as a result I missed my connecting flight they were very understanding and were able to change my pick up times to correspond with the later pick up time without any hassle. When I walked out to the specified location which was right outside the baggage claim the driver pulled up just as I walked out. The driver was friendly, professional, and on time. Seemed to know the area well and got me from SFO to Martinez in a timely manner as traffic allowed. Even though the traffic was horrible he was cheerful and made the ride enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this company and service and I plan to book it for the return trip.

East Bay Shuttle is my go-​to service for airport transport. They are always reliable, provide clean vans, and have professional drivers. They provide multiple contact methods before pick-​up to confirm it, so you know that they won’t leave you stranded. Recommended!

The driver arrived on time. He was very punctual, and I was very appreciative of that.
He was never speeding at any time.
The vehicle was very clean.
This experience was a very positive experience.

They emailed me a confirmation, they called the day before to confirm and they called that morning to let me know the driver was running a few mins late. The driver was friendly, drove safely and it was a great experience. I will definitely use them again!

Checked online for a service to take me from Walnut Creek to the Oakland Airport. Couldn’t believe the prices! Super Shuttle was outrageous as was other taxi/​limo services. I remembered I took East Bay Shuttle before and had a good experience. They were about $ 30 cheaper than Super Shuttle. The driver arrived on time, the van was super clean and I was the only passenger. I guess not a whole lot of people fly south on a Friday evening. Since I am writing this review on my drive I’m hoping it continues to a happy ending! For now, I highly recommend this service.

We returned from our trip and East Bay Shuttle picked us up. The driver is courteous, the van was clean and he drove well.
It’s so nice to return from a trip and have ride home effortless as well.
We have used them before and we will use them again.

The driver was late by more than 30 minutes late, he was looking at the phone in his hand while he drove, they were very unclear about their payment system. I’m not one to complain, by this was too much.

I’ve used this wonderful service, both to and from the San Francisco and Oakland airports and have always had an enjoyable, stress free experience.
You can order the service on-​line and receive an e-​mail confirmation. Not all services do this. With them you call a number, talk to someone, never receive any thing and just hope you get what you ordered. Yikes!
The day before they called and left an e-​mail reminder with my pick up information.
They always arrived on time and their drivers are always very pleasant.

The driver was 15 minutes early, but not impatient. The Sienna was new and clean. The shuttle from Oakland to SFO could not have been better. We’ll use them again.
I just used them again for a round trip to SFO. Couldn’t have been better.

I would give a couple of stars for the driver/​s– but the company, wow! Unfortunately there is no negative star rating (especially for the receptionist who handles the phone reservations). Complete lack of personality and no customer service skills at all!
This company is exactly why Über is gaining strength – and I will be using Über from here on in.
The company as a 48 hour cancellation policy which shows me that they are desperate for every little bit of work that they can latch on to. I don’t know of any companies that operate under a 48 hour cancellation policy any more– move out of the dark ages East Bay Shuttle and get with the program… this is 2016!
And…$ 85.00 to get to the airport? wow!!!
Then I discover on my credit card statement that the driver puts himself down for a $ 16.00 tip — -on top of the cash tip I gave him. WOW!
Never again – not for me… plenty of other choices out there for me… I will just sit back and watch East Bay Shuttle fade away — -or at least until they replace that sour b***h on the phone!
Use at your own risk – and at least check your credit card statements.

Excellent service they were at the airport before we arrived and the service was affordable. I will definitely use again and highly recommend to anyone.

Excellent service. got confirmation calls and emails day before. Driver was on time, courteous but not talkative. Van was clean, ride was comfortable. Will use again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We scheduled a super early morning shuttle (5 am) for our family and the driver arrived 10 minutes early. We came out of the house right at the time scheduled, but he immediately started yelling at us that we were late. We also needed to install 2 carseats, (which I told the company we needed to do when I made the reservation), and when he learned this, he became irate. He was very threatening and told us not to «pi** him off.» Since we didn’t move fast enough for him, he proceeded to get into a yelling match on the street, took our luggage out of the car and left. Yes, left… stiffing us out of a reservation and leaving us scrambling to get to the airport. At that point, we wouldn’t have gotten into a car with him in his state of mind anyway. He was acting quite crazy.
As a result, we had to drive 2 cars to the airport and pay the parking fees for 9 days. We contacted the company to ask if they would make up the difference for our parking fees, and the «owner» said NO, even though their driver is the one who left! Worst company I have ever dealt with. They should be shut down. I am still flabbergasted at how unprofessional and rude they are.

Decided to veto this place when I was quoted $ 85 home from the airport. Took an Über instead and paid $ 50.
