I will never use a company that cannot provide me with a non-​smoking vehicle.
For a pick up at the airport after a very long flight, I got in the car and immediately smelled the smoke. But I didn’t have any options. I spent an hour and a half nauseous, with my head out the window, because our driver had smoked. There were remnants of ashes in the ashtray, and when I asked him if he was a smoker, he said, «a little bit.» He had tried to mask the smoke with some hideous spray, which made it even worse.
When I called the company, they suggested that they could give me money to keep me from writing a bad review. I explained that I just wanted them to know that this review was coming and that they should do something about calling their cars non-​smoking. I wasn’t extorting money from them, nor could I be bribed.

My husband and I hired Apex for a seven hour Napa wine tour and had Eric as our driver. Eric showed up approximately 15 minutes early for our scheduled pick up and was great the moment we got into his car. The car was very clean and was stocked full with bottles of water. We did not give Apex our wine tour itinerary ahead of time, so I had printed out a list of where we were going. The first winery on the list was a bit tricky to get to, but Eric knew the way.
We really appreciated the way Eric helped us to figure out how to get a lunch in given our schedule was pretty tight. He took us to a great grocery store that was on the way to our third winery and suggested we grab some sandwiches and have a picnic at our next stop. Eric was even prepared with a cooler in which we were able to store our food.
Overall we were extremely satisfied with our service and we look forward to using Apex and Eric again during our next Napa trip.

Second round with Apex and I am taking them down a star. Our driver was on-​time (5m early) and was a good driver. He was, however, not very personable and approached our party by having us sign lots of waivers first thing, and warning us about fees for getting sick in the car. For the record, we were a party of five 29 – 30 year-​old women, dressed well, going to a couple of wineries. Our driver also seemed NOT to want to take us where we wanted to go. He kept suggesting alternatives — don’t get me wrong, I appreciate suggestions, but please don’t get visibly frustrated when I didn’t want to take them. We had an itinerary for a reason…
Through the course of the day he was fine, but certainly not overly friendly and actually seemed irritated with us on and off. The car was stocked with alcohol and champagne, but not re-​stocked or cleaned in our 8H trip (which is fine, we only drank some of the champagne and some water).
In the end, the limo was nice and well-​stocked and I appreciate that we had a great day with a safe driver. However, the social/​service part could have been better. Also, I checked my credit card and confirmed I’ve been over-​charged for the service (they did not take my Unilocal deal into account, even though it is written into the contract). I’ll be calling today and assume they’ll make the fix — but this is something to watch for.

Mel was a great driver! $ 500 for 6 hours. He was very kind, friendly, and entertaining. I must say my friends and I have some pretty funny conversations, especially after wine gets involved. As a fly on the wall, he must see some crazy stuff going down in the backseats of his car. We had one of those 3 row SUVs and it was comfy, clean, and well-​stocked with water!
We had reservations at several wineries, so we gave him our itinerary and put our fate in his hands. It was great! He was very punctual and responsive. He picked us up from our hotel in Napa right on time; in fact, he was even a few minutes early! Apex also offers pickup/​drop off from SF. There is a $ 750 fee for any vomit, blood, etc. inside the car, so stay classy people! It is also $ 50 for every extra hour, but there is a grace period of 15 minutes.
Mel also seemed to know his stuff! We were planning to go to Oakville Grocery to pick up lunch, but he advised we call ahead of time to order because it gets crowded. Maybe next time we would come without having things as planned out just to see what they’d recommend.
As a heads up, the tip is included in the price you pay… at least according to the company customer service rep, who said 20% of the cost goes to the driver for tip. Mel definitely deserved it! I would use Apex Limo again if I needed driving services!

Ivo was our driver. He was very kind and took really good care of us. I was clueless when it came to vineyards to visit in Napa and he took us to great locations, cannot complain. He even took us to a great place for a snack, you know after a couple of wine tastings eating is a must.
The quality of the car and our driver were A++

What a great company to work with. The whole process was seamless and awesome. I researched a lot of companies prior to actually booking with Apex. Honestly I was a little skeptical because their pricing was slightly lower than some of the competition. I went with my gut however and couldn’t have been more satisfied.
Ivo was our driver and was wonderful. He was not only very friendly, but also very informative. He arrived early and was so accommodating to changes in our original schedule. The car was very clean and his driving was suburb.
I would definitely use Apex in the future and would definitely recommend them to friends.

Apex’s service was just absolutely great! Our driver was Sasha, he was the best guy for the job. We did a wine tasting Bachelorette for 7 Ladies and we had a ball! Sasha was such a great driver and very considerate as well. He knew about the best wineries to go to. He knew we only had the limo until 5pm and made sure we got back on time so we wouldn’t get charged extra. How great is that! Also, he made sure we stopped by the Napa sign because he said it was a great photo opportunity. He was such a accommodating and considerate driver that I will definitely use him again next time I have a function again. I will definitely recommend him to anyone. Thanks for a great experience Sasha! We all had a great time!

This is my second review of Apex. We got the same driver (Luke, who was great) and they were awesome yet again! This time we were even able to bring our little pup (though he rode in his car carrier, so not «free roaming» in the limo.) We’re going back in October and will be using them again!

Bruce was our driver and he was amazing. Picked us up on time, gave us a history lesson about napa, taught us about different wines and knew interesting facts about each winery we went to. He was very professional, took great pictures for us, and even scoped out possible picture opportunities for when we came out of the wineries. He was helpful, kind, on time and the extremely professional. Ask for Bruce!
As for Apex the company they also had great service. Sent a reminder email and phone call 1 – 2 days in advance. They were initially very patient and kind on the phone when I had questions. Overall can’t say enough good things. Try them yourself!

Apex’s services were top notch from beginning to end! We called the day before our trip and luckily they still had some town cars available that were willing to drive us around, despite Bottle Rock being held that weekend. Jill (we believe that’s what her name was) was very easy to work with and got us set up without any hassles!
We got a delightful call from our driver, Paul, about an hour before our pick up time to let us know that he was on his way to our hotel. He ended up getting there 15 minutes before our pickup time, and even though we were a few minutes late he still greeted us with a big, welcoming smile!
Paul was extremely knowledgeable on every winery we went to and even pointed out his top recs as we drove by them. Being that Paul had done over 150 wine tours, we made sure that he gave us a list of wineries to check out the next time we come back! What I really enjoyed about Paul was that he made it a point to make conversation with us and was very engaging throughout our whole trip!
I’m not going to lie… the Asian in me was very hesitant to hire a town car service for the weekend since it’ll cost you a pretty penny. However, at the end of our trip, I couldn’t have been more satisfied with Paul and the overall experience. Paul definitely was one of the highlights of our trip and I would HIGHLY recommend requesting him if you plan on using Apex’s services!

Really enjoyed our trip (from downtown SF to Napa), the driver was very knowledgeable (able to recommend good wineries and a nice spot to picnic) and they even provides nice extras like a bottle of champagne for your trip :)

We had Eric as our driver and he was EXCELLENT. Tons of good info about the area and recommendations for tasting spots. I will definitely be using Eric from Apex for our next tasting tour in Napa

Booked Apex about 1 – 2 weeks in advance of my Napa trip with friends. We rented a sedan, and were paired up with Eric for the day.
It was great having Eric’s knowledge of the area, as well as winery recommendations.
I would definitely recommend Apex to friends, and would book them again should I do another winery tour.
They also had a really great online price at the time I booked — pretty sure these guys are about as reasonable as it gets.

Apex took a late reservation from us (the day before!) and got us in problem free. Alex was our driver, and was great! He picked us up 10 minutes early.
Alex had great conversation the whole time and was very knowledgable about the area. We really didn’t have a plan in mind when he picked us up, and he made sure we made the best use of our time. We hit hit 4 good wineries in 6 hours, coming from Benicia.
Well worth having a DD, and highly recommend requesting Alex as your driver!

Leo, our driver was actually 10 minutes early. He was very courteous and professional as well.
They provided us with lots of bottles of water for our trip to Napa.
The price was very competitive and everything went smooth as silk.
Very pleasant experience and no complaints here. Would recommend them specially at this price point.

I booked with Apex for my sister’s bachelorette party. We rented the limo for 6 hours and hit 4 wineries in Sonoma and Napa. It was great to have total control over where to go and when to leave!
Our driver, Ivo, was really helpful and professional. He was always ready, waiting for us when we walked out of a winery. He was very well informed about the various wineries and travel times/​distances. He helped us strategize our trip a bit.
His limo was beautiful and very luxurious!

This is true and would have been appreciated if not for the fact that our limo ride home was ultimately non-​existent, thus rendering the 30 minutes of free time inapplicable. Regardless, our late arrival is irrelevant to the subject of our complaint.

This is patently false. While we do not claim to know what the «business standard» for extended time is in the Napa region, (nor is it relevant), what we are sure of is that we were specifically told that we had an option for an additional hour.

Untrue. While Unilocal readers will ultimately decide for themselves, I would not be spending my time writing a review about some random limo company located across the country if the above statement were true.

Again, untrue. We were assured that we had an extra hour available to us, should we choose to take it.
Nobody is disputing Apex’s right to contract additional work after the conclusion of our contracted time. However, Apex does not have the right to assure customers of an option, and only after the customer has acted in reliance upon that option (including $ 240 of tasting fees at Stag’s Leap), rescind that option.

We reserved a limo to take us between Napa vineyards. If we wanted to save $, we would have taken a cab. Put differently (and I hope this would be abundantly clear to a limo company), Cab does not equal Limo! $ 100 was never adequate compensation.

After clearly breaching our oral agreement on day 1 and leaving us high and dry without a ride home from Stag’s Leap, we had no reason to believe that Apex would perform satisfactorily on the second day. Additionally, the limo driver on day 1 was horrible. He could not provide us with any of the interesting information that we had read about in other reviews, nor could he answer even our most basic Napa-​related questions. Put differently, our desire to cancel our second day was merely our attempt to cut our losses.
Also, our desire to cancel the second day is irrelevant. We performed our end of the bargain (paid in full). The subject of the complaint is Apex’s failure to hold up their end.
«A week went by and we get a one star review… We emailed the billing client and let him know that since Rebecca is still upset she had to pay $ 100 for taxi, we will make a one-​time compensation for taxi.»
This is true. Upon realizing that we were willing to write a negative complaint when provided with sub-​par service, Apex offered us $ 100 in exchange for removing the review. We were unimpressed and all agreed that we would prefer that the complaint stay in place to inform potential customers of our bad experience.

This is true. We did not think that anything less than a full refund was worth removing the negative review. If all Unilocal customers that wrote negative reviews ultimately pulled the reviews upon receiving some small recompense, the whole purpose of Unilocal would be defeated.

Yes, this is true. We were provided with a certain service. It was far less than what we had contracted for and what we paid for. As such, we opted to write a negative review.

Apex sucked. I don’t know if they always suck but they certainly might.

Just about to book Apex for another wine tour and remembered that I never wrote a review for our July 4^th excursion. Long story short — Apex is awesome!
I called a bunch of limo companies the last time around and settled on Apex because of price, promptness, and service. The limo was great! Luke, our driver, was very patient with us as we were an hour late for pickup and added an hour onto our trip since we were having such a great time. O yeah, and the limo had open bar, which was great for people not so into wine like me.

5 stars all the way. From the making of the reservation, to explaining charges, to being able to easily modify our wine tour, to having our driver, Sergei, Apex did a fantastic job at alllowing us to thoroughly enjoy ourselves yesterday.
For 6 hours in an 8-​pax stretch limo, we visited 7 wineries, plus a supermarket because we didn’t do enough eating prior and needed something in our bellies — I wish I could remember the name of the place because they have an awesome hot aisle and salad bar. Sergei arrived just a few minutes late, but delivered great service the entire day. He also has fabulous hair — I wanted to run my fingers through it even before I was inebriated.
The limo was in great condition. As promised, I loved that they included a full wet bar as a part of our reservation. There were champagne glasses, other tumblers, a bottle of brut cuvee, water, sodas, beer, and some malt liquor. Everything actually worked in the limo, too — including the radio, windows, lights, heat, A/​C — you think that this would be a given. But if you’ve ever ridden in «off» limo company cars, you know that things are not always as they appear.
The total for the day was $ 540, including tax, a gratuity to Sergei of 20%, and gas. I love Apex and will continue to use them when I want to get drunk in wine country.
