The scoopers knew what they were doing. They were very busy on a Saturday afternoon when we visited the open-air oceanfront shop, but kept the line moving. I was impressed because the B&J’s at home in Yorktown essentially shuts down if more than a dozen people come in.

Of course 5 stars are deserved here — its ice cream! And Ben and Jerry’s at that! I had a large waffle cone which comes with three scoops of ice cream — chunky monkey(my fav), butter pecan, and chocolate peanut butter! All were delish and tasted even better at the beach! My daughter got a small sprinkle cone with cookies and cream and chocolate brownie ice cream! She loved hers as well!

I’m only giving it one star because Unilocal won’t allow me to give it no stars. My boyfriend asked for one ice cream and got a completely different one. Then the ice cream started to melt so I could barely enjoy it. I should of just bought ice cream from the grocery store. I’m positive the people working there weren’t too familiar with English.

Fast, efficient, and has all the faves you would expect from Ben & Jerry’s. 2 Tips: 1. There are coupons literally everywhere for all the Ben & Jerry’s at the oceanfront. You can grab them in the brochure racks or rip them out of the coupon books. They all seem to be the same: buy a large, get a small free. 2. There is no seating in or near this location. So grab your ice cream and head down to the boardwalk to enjoy it on a bench or in the sand.

Ben and Jerry’s is soooo good. Ice cream with all the delicious flavors you want and love. The workers are so nice and let you sample as many flavors as you want. They even had the flavor I had been looking for with peanut butter cookie dough in it :) Definitely go if you are looking for some sweet, delicious ice cream!

Came across this particular Ben and Jerry’s location while walking down Atlantic Ave in Virginia Beach. Also had a coupon but that didn’t really help much because the total came to about $ 11 for two cones anyway. Granted, one was a large cone but still… I know Ben and Jerry’s is good ice cream but no one should be paying that much. The restaurant itself was clean but they didn’t have a working bathroom when I was there, which was upsetting because I really had to use the bathroom. If I’m ever here again I probably wouldn’t get Ben and Jerry’s. I’d rather go to Kohrs Bros which is just down the street if you walk about 5 more minutes.

Not happy. $ 20 for 4 kids to have ice cream cones. I asked for two waffle comes, one with hand scooped vanilla and one with chocolate soft serve. Then asked for a regular cone of twist soft serve and a regular cone of soft serve vanilla dipped in rainbow sprinkles. The chocolate soft serve was in a stale waffle cone, the hand scooped vanilla had chunks of ice through it, the plain vanilla dipped in sprinkles ended up a twist too with MAYBE3 – 4 actual tiny sprinkles on it. The ice cream itself was edible but way below standard, DQ is better and sadly, it shouldn’t be. Never again will I go to a Ben n Jerry’s for casual ice cream cones. Stick to buying the pints.

My mom ordered me a cookie cookie sundae here with chunky monkey and mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was pretty good but I had better to be honest. It was refreshing after a long day though.

Expensive, especially for the amount you get. Also, when I asked for a cherry on my Sundae, I was informed that they don’t do cherries because they’re not«all-natural». Come on… Gummy Bears are all-natural, but cherries aren’t? Look for other, better options in the area.

Ice cream is standard. Service is atrocious. No one spoke English or could get an order right. Ridiculous

Ben & Jerry’s is your boutique ice cream parlor. The prices are higher, so you expect a superior quality for the quantity of ice cream you are given. Unfortunately it seems this Ben & Jerry’s is coasting on their reputation and not upholding that expectation. The ice cream we purchased just tasted bad. The best we could describe the chocolate was that it tasted like burnt coffee. Attempts to correct the problem were made impossible because the manager was nowhere to be found, and the place was already understaffed for the number of customers wanting Ben & Jerry’s.

There are a lot of places to get ice cream along Atlantic. If you’re having a hard time making a decision, I suggest going with a classic. Ben & Jerry’s is always amazing. Nothing frostbitten. Just great fresh ice cream.

My gluten free wife wanted to eat at Taste on our last night in town so I carried a thirty pound toddler six blocks from our hotel passing two ice cream stores along the way. We decided to have a lighter meal than planned and save room for a little desert on the way home. I wanted to stop at Hershey’s, but my wife loves Ben & Jerry’s and they have no locations near our home so we chose them — big mistake. As usual my wife asked for the allergen menu because she actually has Celiac disease and is not on a fad diet. Her question was received as if she was speaking a foreign language. Eventually she was provided a binder to browse through in an attempt to order something safe. While she was doing that I ordered my toddler a kid size chocolate cone which happened to be the only order they got right. What happened next could best be described as an Asian episode of Laverne and Shirley except it wasn’t funny even though it was April Fool’s Day. There were only two families in the store the whole time, but instead of each employee taking one family each, they both filled part of each order to the extent that one scoop of my waffle cone special was scooped by one and the second by the other. This means the person ringing us up did not know what we actually got so despite me trying to explain it, the language barrier meant I was overcharged. I knew it, but frankly I just wanted to get this over with by now. Then the other server told the cashier she had rung my wife’s up as a double scoop when she had only ordered and received a single. Since I had paid by debit card their solution was to recall my wife’s small cup and pile another scoop on top of the first. My ice cream was good, but the fact the plain waffle cone was so stale I could barely chew it ruined the experience. Only chocolate coated waffle cones were on display so I have no idea where they came up with it after some searching. Anyone considering Ben & Jerry’s might be better served by walking down the street a little to either Hershey’s or the Salt Water Taffy store.

Snipped a coupon for Ben & Jerrys for ‘buy 1 get 1 free’ when I went to get some ice cream I walked in the door and was greeted by a lady that I couldnt understand. I thought she said, «10 minutes til close» but she said«welcome to ben & jerrys». I told her I had a coupon & I began to get a large waffle cone with my free small cone. Waffle cones are extra, for BOTH. Free one as well. She rang me up and my total was still $ 9.30!!! For ice cream??? It was good, but not for that much.

I love Ben & Jerry’s ice cream — not only do they have creative and delicious flavors, but their hippie mission of making the Earth a better place is much appreciated. They have lots of fun, recognizable flavors here — Phish Food, Cherry Garcia, Americone Dream — but I went for one I had not yet seen before. Late Night Snack, inspired by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, features vanilla ice cream with a salty caramel swirl and fudge covered potato chips. Recently becoming a salty & sweet fiend(taking after my mom Linda C.!), it was the one that I had to try. I wish I could have tasted more potato chip — it ended up just been a fudgy crispy ball(not that I’m complaining). I would’ve gotten Crème Brulee in a heartbeat, but they didn’t have it. Everyone gobbled up their ice cream — its the Ben & Jerry way! — as we sat in the corner, reading all the interesting facts decorating the table we were at. I had no idea, but apparently Ben & Jerry paid $ 5 for a correspondence course on how to make ice cream in the 70’s, and that’s how Ben & Jerry’s was born. Overall, definitely the best ice cream spot on the boardwalk. I only wish they had more flavors to choose from!

Actually, not closed. Maybe it’s open only seasonally, but it was certainly open last week. It’s a perfect location to stop and grab some ice cream; just a block away from the boardwalk. As you’d expect, it’s similar to other Ben and Jerry’s stores with a mix of ice cream, smoothies and lattes. The staff was very helpful here; I went to ask for a banana smoothie and the clerk steered me away from that.(His words: «Have you tried them? They’re awful.») Instead, he convinced me to try the mango smoothie which was great. Prices are moderate, in the $ 3 – 5 range for most items.
