History

Established in 2006.

I have worked in the IT field for more than 20 years supporting Windows products, whether through direct client support or through various companies along the way — including law firms, Fortune 500 companies, and even websites. I learned many invaluable skills along the way, and have never ceased training myself in advanced digital tools like Photoshop, Avid, Final Cut Pro, Final Draft, Ableton Live, Microsoft Office (Windows & Mac), and many others, for my personal experience and for training purposes.

After working in Hollywood as an assistant editor on many different shows, I discovered the joy of working full time on a Macintosh, and decided to relearn many skills I had already accomplished in the PC side to further support creative professionals in Hollywood and Los Angeles. I now use and support 95% Apple in my company, even though I have still managed to learn a few things about Windows 8; but I am a full time Mac tech, and will continue to be.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, David can frequently be found composing and djing music in his home studio and around the southland.

His wife Maggie and he love all things electronic and computer related, as we independently provide IT support for the westside. She is an excellent PC tech as well!

Training for Apple Hardware Certification in 2006. Word of mouth referrals are the core of the business, as we strive to give complete care to every client everyday.

Dave is great, has helped me a few times. He brought my old macbook to life that I thought was gone forever. Think he mostly focuses on apple products but he did fix my pc desktop and a couple laptops over the years. Very reasonable in his hourly rate and always tries to save money by finding cheapest option available for parts. Won’t find a better guy to work to work on your computer, highly recommended.

My opinion: David is amazing. I found him here on Unilocal and loved the idea of working with a fellow Westsider. Now that he’s finished fixing my computer, I love the idea even more.
When I was running through all issues I’d been having with my mid-​2010 MacBook Pro over the past 3 months, he was citing the same things the Mac Geniuses on the phone were telling me as they tried to fix my machine. I also appreciated that when I first called to set up my appointment (to replace my crotchety hard drive with an SSD and put in new RAM), he told me exactly which brands/​types of replacement parts to get – which my online research all backed up exactly. Things got more complicated than either of us expected once he opened up my computer, but David was patient, fast, and determined to get my computer working right, whatever it took. You need to have serious trust and faith in someone who is playing with your precious data, and that’s how I felt about David.
I’m so glad I found him and can’t recommend him/​Orchardwerks enough!

WOW, Dave is one helpful guy! I was having some frustrating issues with my email program and tried troubleshooting myself to no avail. I called Dave and set-​up an appointment. He was able to diagnose the issue over the phone and is assisting me with the problem. I know I’m in the right hands because he just KNOWS what he’s talking about, and is happy to explain tech-​y things to lay folk like me. Three cheers for Dave!

Dave literally saved my life. My computer completely crashed with a dead motherboard, and the Geek Squad told me that the only way they could recover my hard drive was by shipping it off somewhere and paying a hefty $ 600 fee. Enter Dave to the rescue! He recovered all of my data for a fraction of the Best Buy quote and completed the work in less than a week. He has totally earned the title of my go-​to-​computer-​guy for life! Highly, highly, highly recommend to ALL Mac users!

Dave helped me out by replacing the internal drive of my 2010 iMac. I was considering doing it myself, but after reading online it decided it was would be fraught with problems. All I can say is Thank God! I do all my work online at home and David was able to come over and diagnose, repair, update my 2 laptops and Ipad that I had managed to screw up. He was very patient and reassuring, taught me what I needed/​wanted to know and got me back up to speed in less than than 2 hours. Being able to have a friendly, kind and warm presence to come to the house calmed my panic while he figured everything out and fixed it, reducing my anxiety and blood pressure. I did not want to drop off my devices at geek squad or the apple store and to get a home visit from geek squad was a week wait!!! I highly recommend David and Orchardwerks– tailored customer service, expert fast work from a very pleasant calming fellow.

I am so grateful to have David as my computer tech. He has been helping me for several years, mostly with computer issues; as well as replacing printers, modems, phone systems, etc. There is great comfort in being able to call a professional-​person, who is always friendly and always professional. He has proven to be capable of repairing nearly every device that requires technical expertise.
I run a small home business, so I have needed to call David for major computer repairs, as well as smaller jobs, (Such as installing a new modem). One of the most comforting things about Davids work, is that he is thorough. He will not quit until he is satisfied that all avenues have been attended to, i.e., that your equipment is working properly.
I recommend David wholeheartedly and without reservation.

David has been such a HUGE help to me over the last 3 years! When I first moved to my new house in Altadena, he came over right away and helped me get my TV, phone and data networks all set up. I am not very tech savvy so it is great to know that I can call on him for help whenever I need it and he responds quickly and professionally and gets the job done!
He has helped me on numerous occasions with everything from my home entertainment system, online set up to general computer issues, like compiling all of my e-​mail addresses into one main account and adding a new printer on my computer.
