Zero stars. I would never patronize this jerk. He acts like he runs the entire shopping center. Nobody likes him. He is a total dick to every one he comes across. Go somewhere else for keys.

Rude Owner! I’m not much of a «yelper» but the A$$HOLE that works there was super rude to my mother and I this morning. We saw 2 signs that said «Yes, We’re open» 2 signs! Then we pull up and see a man closing the door and we ask «are you open» which he says in a very rude tone «I’m going to the gym» like I was supposed to know his life and schedule. My mother said «Well we saw the sign that said open so we weren’t sure» and he then said «there’s another sign that says closed» all mean sounding. It was there I could not let him talk to my mother the way he was talking to her and I said «you don’t have to be an asshole about it.» he mouthed back off and I then told him it looks like the gym isn’t working for him as he was a fat guy. I then left and said I would leave a bad Unilocal review which I never do. Screw this guy, he’s an old mean man whose probably lonely and hates his life so he’s an asshole to everyone else. He will lead a miserable existence probably the rest of his boring pathetic life.

My guess is he doesn’t get a lot of repeat customers. He’s cranky, argumentative and difficult.

I give this business no stars! The person that worked here had no change did not take credit card and I wasn’t told this till after he made my keys. Very rude and not polite at ALL! Will not be returning!

Poor customer service! I paid for 4 duplicates and 1 didn’t work. He told me I wasn’t inserting the key properly and to wiggle it around… I did not leave without a refund! He was so very rude!

He made my keys, I handed over my credit card and he said no plastic. I said I only have $ 9 in cash give me the keys that I enough cash for.
He said go to the ATM or he would take my license plate down and call the cops.
I said I looked for a «Cash Only» sign and did not see it otherwise I would have not had them made.
He said «It’s your responsibility to ask» seriously who says that.
Seriously upset, thank God I had a check on me. But the point is HORRIBLE ATTITUDE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! Stay far far far away!!!
Furthermore its 2014 everyone takes credit cards!!! Seriously.

I called this jerk and he was so rude to me on the phone. I have an emergency key from AAA and asked him if he would cut a key… NO and I don’t even know why you even have that… ummm for an emergency you moron. I found a professional locksmith in Irvine that said no problem. Don’t waste your time or money with this SOB :)

What more can you want from a business than reputation experience and values? Late in has been in business for over 36 years! Almost every generation of my family has used his service and we will continue to! I would look right over the negative reviews as if you look at the reviewers they are miserable people who seemingly didnt use this service

Cranky to a T and the note he left about why he wasn’t in the booth was rather unprofessional… might be shopping, or might be getting a drink, or might be fishing. Should really say, «don’t really need this job but I exist to torment those whom think I might wanna make a key for ya.»

The guy that runs this place does have a lot of keys and knows what he’s doing, but his attitude and customer service is just terrible. I have been there two times, the first time, he had a sign saying that he was at Starbucks, and to walk over there to find him, he was so huffy that he had to leave his friend to come make a key for me, 50 feet away from the Starbucks! He was so rude and short changed me. I didn’t realize until after I got home, but wasn’t really willing to go deal with this guy over 3 $. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe he was having a bad day. Again I go to make another key, still same rude service, very condescending. I will never come back here again, I would rather spend more money somewhere else than deal with this jerk!

You can’t find an old school locksmith like this much anymore. He knows what he is talking about, and gets the job done with integrity.

He can now make most replacement auto keys that has a chip. He just made a key for my son’s 2003 Dodge Stratus. I agree his customer service is not the most warm feeling but he knows keys and locks.

I see I’m not the only one that has had problems with the guy that works there, must be the owner since he is so consistently rude to most of the reviewers here but still keeps his job.
The guy was incredibly rude and had a very poor attitude. I was just trying to get some answers about a «do not duplicate» key and he berates me like I’m a criminal. I explained to him that the key belongs to an apartment building THAT I OWN and I need a copy made, but he just continued to yell at me saying «you will never get a copy made, anywhere.» Apparently he is ill informed as well, I got a copy made at a locksmith’s shop.
I WOULD SINCERELY SUGGEST YOU AVOID THIS PLACE, IT’S NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION.

I went to get a copy of my «Do not Duplicate» key. I am the legitimate owner of the key and the lock and he refused to copy my key. I even offered to provide a copy of my company letterhead showing that I have the authority to make such copy. He still would not do it and said, «listen to me! I will not make any key that says Do not Duplicate». I took my business elsewhere and they did not give me any hassle nor did they even ask my for company credentials. Take your business elsewhere.

i wanted to use a flip key style for my car instead of a regular car key, so i bought a blank key flip key housing online. I brought it over to this key cut shop and the ignorant owner rejected to cut it for me. I explain to him that i want my flip key to be cut from my old key, but instead he think im trying to save money by buying a key from «online» and having it cut from him instead of buying blank ones from him. WELL if i bought a blank ones from you, do you have the ones that are FLIP key styles?, I BET NOT. He tells me no one will cut my keys… w/​an sour look in his face. WELL SCREW YOU i found someone who cut it for me. Im never coming back to get «regular keys or car keys» cut from a poor attitude service. bye.

Not too crazy about the phone conversation I had with this locksmith. The shell of my car key is prone to cracking due to some design flaws. Specifically, there is very little plastic on the corners, which allows the twisting motion in the ignition to crack the casing until the blade separates from the transponder shell. I bought some blank keys from the internet that didn’t have such a design flaw. When I mentioned that I had the blanks, the person on the phone said, «it’s the stupidest thing ever to support those online guys. I will not cut it for you.» I agree to buy the blank from them, but then he tells me he’s out of stock. Ok, so this is where we begin the analysis.
1. I don’t understand why the business won’t just cut the key. It’s all services. You can charge $ 20 for something that will take 10 minutes and cost nothing in your parts.
2. As EXACTLY as I had feared, places don’t stock a blank car key from 2002.
3. I purchased a different style key to avoid continuously cracking my transponder case. Unlikely that the business even has the suppliers to get the same case that I acquired.
4. Don’t put me down by saying something I did is «the stupidest thing ever.»
So why the two stars instead of one? I’ll see if they actually have the key in stock and if they do a good job. I’ll post an update in the coming weeks.

I called this place to ask how much it would cost to make a copy of my mom’s truck key. Little did I know there are so many different kinds of keys and technicalities to them. The gentleman on the phone was extremely helpful! Because there are so many types of keys out there I needed to explain what type of key I had. With little information about my mom’s truck (year, type, etc) he was able to tell me what I needed.
Apparently since the key is a transponder key and I only have 1 copy of it a copy will be impossible since there needs to be 2 keys in order to make 1 copy.
Although I did not purchase anything from this locksmith I will definitely go here if I ever need one! He was really helpful and I learned a lot about keys in that 5 min conversation.
