Moving is stressful and if I could give negative stars I would. This is what happened and the negatives out weigh the positives.
I wrote an email for a quote then had to call. Right away I was connected to Dave who is their senior sales guy. He is amazing, professional and polite. He came out gave an estimate.
We were moving within a few weeks.
The bad. Our movers were to call before coming out and Dave stated his office lady who shall remain anonymous never followed up. Never sent paper work, phone calls and was rude when I had to call Dave to get answers. Oh it’s time for the movers to come. I had to call 3x to the office to find out what time they were coming. Just a curtous call would be nice. Nothing.
Movers arrive, amazing. Yet didn’t follow through or front desk on how much our load was or weight or how many days just told 4 to 14 days.
Again receptionist whatever you want to call her. Does not follow through. We are calling just to get an idea because we are moving across the country. Nothing.
We arrive to our new location and have to call and she sends an email after we have to remind her on what day our furniture is arriving. She writes Monday! So Sunday I should receive a vial with the time frame for delivery. Nothing!!! I get a call Monday and our furniture is arriving Tuesday and guess what it’s my drivers first time working with them and he has the same problems with her noo communication!!!
Our load arrives, the movers are amazing and our load is 200 lbs lighter which only results in. Drum roll please!!! $ 1.98 cheaper per 200 lbs difference. It doesn’t mAke sense.
Dave should work for a company that puts as much detail, care and professionalism as he does.

After almost one month they refunded me the $ 49.50 I was due. It took several emails to get them to actually process the refund. This was still the worst experience ever moving and I will NEVER use this company again or recommend it to anyone. It’s been two months and I am still upset about all the stress they caused me.

Our move went amazingly well. The movers were wonderful. Extremely professional. Nothing was broke. They worked as quickly as possible and were a pleasure to work with. Based on everyone we dealt with at Neighbors we would use them again in a heartbeat.

This was the first time I’ve used movers and I was nervous about last minute fees, making sure my property was protected and being a single woman I also wanted to feel comfortable with the strangers coming into my home.
Jamie and Brian were fantastic and I couldn’t have been happier with the move. Everything was wrapped and moved carefully and efficiently, and the guys were great. I was moving to a new city for a new job and just generally stressed out, so the move going so smoothly was a huge relief. Nothing was damaged or lost, they definitely knew what they were doing.
When it came to dealing with the office they were very willing to answer all my questions (since I was so nervous about hidden fees I had a lot). If you’re booking movers always ask about travel time, overtime, gas/​mileage, packing supplies, etc. Read the fine print. I got to a point I felt comfortable so I booked the move. My one frustration was that I was quoted for a local move (hourly rate) and when I got the confirmation email it said there was a 55 mile limit a move to be considerrd local, and I was moving closer to 60. So I got back in touch with them immediately and it turns out my move has to be weight and distance based. This is in fact a state law, so it was that way with all moving companies. I guess they noticed that basically at the same time as I did and were about to call me about it. This is the only improvement I would ask of them. Get the exact mileage entered in when you do a quote.

The power trio of Kaysone/​Ceaser/​Damian were outstanding. They worked very hard and were machines in efficiency. They did a great job caring for our homes and the items they were moving. Truly great representatives of your company.
I would (and have already) recommend them to others.

Used this company twice — once to move our apartment and then a week later to move our storage unit. I don’t know names of the first crew, but they were very good. The crew on the second move were: Nate (lead/​driver), Randy and Torieno — they did an excellent job.

I wish I could give this place negative stars. I had furniture broken as well as picture frames and some of my tools ended up missing. I filed a claim with the company but I was never reimbursed. Along with another reviewer, I had to help move my own things and while I had everything boxed and ready, it took way longer than it should have. Use this company at your own risk!

I wanted to write an update following the company reaching out to me. When a company gets it wrong I think we are well within our rights to blast them online and I am thankful for the tools like Unilocal to do so! But when they get it right, they should get credit with the same amount of vigor!
Within a few hours of me posting my review and filling out their company survey. The GM himself called me and left a voice mail saying he just wanted to make it right. We had a healthy, honest conversation on the phone where I explained the situation as it took place. He took ownership of the problem, apologized and offered to make it right.
The moving business is tricky and timing is hard, some of that they can’t control. What they can control is the communication and that is what he apologized for and did everything he could to make sure we were satisfied with the solution.
For that reason I would use them again, knowing that if something did go wrong, they would be proactive in taking care of it.

I used Neighbors Moving & Storage to move from Auburn, WA to Seattle, WA. The guys were professional and courteous. I had everything organized for them so it was quite easy to get in and out.
I got a 3-​man team to help me move. I have moved a bunch and I know it’s important to have enough people to get the job done on time and on budget.
The only downside was that I paid my deposit using Amex and when it came to pay my balance I was told that they didn’t accept Amex. My company was paying for the move and I only had the company Amex. I was ticked. The explanation I received from the corporate office wasn’t very help or reassuring.
Lastly, I went to put my bed together and the screws were missing. The team had taken the hardware for the bed with them by mistake. I am grateful they returned later the same day to put the bed together for me.
I recommend Neighbors Moving & Storage and the guys that helped me: Vernon Weaver, Miguel Norman, and Zach Levitt.

Just used them, Lenin, Mayolo & Andrew were very efficient. I plan to use them for my next move.

My husband and I used Neighbors a few years ago for our move. They were highly recommended by a friend who had used them twice, both times with awesome results. Well we had a fantastic experience with them. They were friendly, charged fair prices, and most importantly they were careful with our furniture and other breakable belongings. We would totally use them again.

They squeezed me into their schedule last minute and saved us the hassle of unpacking our truck. Fast and friendly. Would recommend to friends & family.

The movers were great. They even listened to my drama as I was having a horrible week.

We were scheduled for a move between 8 and 9 am from Edmonds to Lynnwood. The movers arrived at around 8:30am. They did a quick hello and had a look at what needed to be moved. After filling a little paperwork, they were on the job. They were fast and very professional — and nice people. It amazed me how quickly these two guys moved all the boxes we had packed — it too us a couple weeks to pack things up and the massive pile of boxes shrunk to nothing in a matter of an hour or so. They moved all the big stuff too — it seemed effortless to them! Then we met them at our new residence and they brought everything in quickly and efficiently. I would recommend your company from my experience and definitely think Jose and Miguel deserve a hefty raise — they are truly an asset to you and made our lives much easier.

I moved in June 2013. What an exciting time in my life. My BF and I were getting our first place together. It was the merging of the households. I chose Neighbors Moving & Storage to move my belongings, and he chose a different company to move his in the next day. I think the only positive thing about Neighbors is that they had the day I wanted to move available. Really, that’s it.
With Neighbors, you do not get to choose a time of day they come. You get a call a week or so before to let you know what hours they might show up. If you’re lucky. I got my call 2 days before the arrival date and was told my crew (I chose 2 men, for a short move of 2 – 3 hours) would show up between 12−3pm and that they would call me when they were on there way.
I had all my stuff boxed up and ready, all my furniture disassembled and waiting for some gentle, strong dudes to put safely in a truck. At noon, nothing… 1pm, nothing…2pm, nothing. Surely they are on their way? 3pm, nothing. I had chosen the 2 man crew which was along the lines of $ 89/​hr. I received a call from the dispatcher closer to 4pm letting me know that the crew was backed up and wouldn’t make it until around 6pm. I could wait, or he could send over a 3-​man crew that was just finishing up and not far away. For the inconvenience, he would not charge me more, I would still pay the 3 man price. I was grateful because I didn’t want to wait until who knows when for my scheduled crew.
The crew showed up, and to their credit, they were nice guys. Heavy smokers, but nice. I have never hired professional movers before, so maybe this is normal, but they were not gentle with my stuff. I packed my boxes well, but watching them push the loaded handcart bouncing down the stairs made me cringe. It is no good getting a crew that has worked all day. They complained about the previous customer and how tired they were, and they dragged along.
When we got to the new place and found out that the street was too narrow to allow them to back their huge truck into the driveway, they refused to unload because it would block the street. It’s Seattle. I’m sorry, but that’s the way it is. People can go around another block. This took them 30 minutes to figure out, and did I get any discount? Absolutely not. They complained about the house being 3 stories and how much longer it would take them to unload everything. So much so, I helped unload my stuff.
They didn’t even take everything into the house. They left ¹⁄₃ of my boxes in the garage. Conveniently, the boxes of books. When he called in to calculate my total I was charged the 3-​man rate. I spoke the dispatcher, who happened to be the same one who called me earlier that day. He had the gall to tell me he never said such a thing in regards to the lesser charge for the inconvenience, and didn’t budge. I ended up paying for 4 hours at a more expensive rate for a job that should have taken half the time because of more help!
My BF’s movers moved his stuff the next day (I don’t remember what company he used). They came promptly at 8am and had his stuff all moved in in less than 2 hours. They were fast and careful. He even lived further away.
I will never recommend Neighbors. You will get what you pay for if your looking for an inexpensive company.

Update to my review. After filing a complaint with the BBB about how I was overcharged by $ 120, I ended up getting a refund check for the bogus extra charges. However, they still only get a 2-​star rating due to 1 piece of broken furniture, the stress that was caused when my items were delivered, lying to me about whether they contract out moves to other companies, lying to me about when my items would be delivered, and the long length of time it took to get both my furniture and some follow-​up to my complaints.
Initial review:
I read about the reviews involving this company, but many of them were of the Neighbors Moving Co associated with Florida and other areas. When I talked to this location (Dave) about the negative reviews, I was told that they do not go to Florida and that they are not at all associated with the Florida Neighbors Moving Co. This was a flat-​out lie. I also asked if they contract out their moves to other companies and was told that they do not. This was yet another lie. I know these were all lies because eventually my items were brought from a Florida moving company and the company that delivered my items had another company’s name on the truck. I was told by Dave that they specialize in the West coast and only go up and down the coast. This was one of many, many lies.
On the day they were supposed to pick up my items, I was given a noon — 4:00 pm window. They arrived at 4:30 pm. It was only two guys. They didn’t finish until 9:30 pm. This was our last night in WA and we had to cancel plans to go out with our friends. The movers who picked up our stuff were nice guys, we bought them dinner and sodas. They should have had an extra body though. It would have gone much quicker.
A week after we arrived in California, I was told that our items were on a truck and that we would be the last delivery and that we would get our items within a week. A week later, I was told that they were not able to fit all of our items on the truck and that they hadn’t even left WA state. Well, if you tell me that my items will be the LAST delivery, then I know (because I’m not an idiot) that my items would be the FIRST ITEMS placed on the truck. So that they would be in the back, and the first deliveries would be unloaded first. So this was yet another lie from John, who manages the interstate moves.
23 days later, after several more false promises about delivery dates, we finally are told that our items will arrive. I get a call from someone from a Florida area code. The movers were from a Florida moving company. The guys who showed up with our items were the grungiest bunch of knuckle-​draggers that I have ever seen. I was scared to let them into my apartment.
Of course, I was told that there would be extra charges because they couldn’t back their ginormous truck into my apartment complex. They had to park the truck in the road that runs along my apartment building, but the distance from the road is actually closer to my apartment than it would’ve been if they’d brought the truck inside. I tried to explain this but with no luck. I was told it would be an extra $ 200. I told them I wouldn’t pay it and was told that if I didn’t, they would leave my items in the street. So basically they started threatening me. I started crying and the gorilla told me that for my tears, they would lower the extra cost to $ 150.
Despite my complaints that the distance was not any farther than if they had been able to get their truck through the gates of our apartment, the guy wouldn’t listen. My husband had to leave work and go get a money order from the bank. Once they had their extra money, they started to bring the items in. I didn’t want to be alone in my apartment while they were moving our furniture. The guys who actually carried stuff were complete idiots. One guy unloaded several piles of boxes in the middle of the living room and blocked it so that no items could go into the bedrooms. They were also dissing me and saying how they probably wouldn’t get a tip now because I was questioning the charges. They were right about that!
While they were moving items in, John from the Seattle office called and I informed him about the bogus extra charges. He said that they should’ve only charged me $ 30 for the «long carry» which exceeds 50 feet. I was told that I would get a check for the remaining $ 120. This never happened despite numerous e-​mails and phone calls to John requesting my refund.
Moving out of state is stressful enough, and this company made the experience worse. Despite what they will tell you initially, they do contract to other moving companies. They are very nice and professional sounding on the phone when you are initially booking them, but after they have your stuff quality of customer service goes down.

I could have sworn I already wrote a review on these guys… but it’s not here– I’m so surprised there are so many low reviews. My experience was EXCELLENT and that was dealing with an apt moving date and a purchase closing date– at the end of the month– which is the craziest time of the month to move!
The guys that showed up worked hard and fast and were very courteous. I am soooooo glad that I paid the money for them to move everything– saved me and my hubby from injuries and fighting– wonderful value!

SAVE YOURSELVES!!!

I am REALLY REALLY surprised at all the negative reviews! I have used Neighbors 3 times in the last 4 years, and I’m about to use them again. They have always, I mean ALWAYS, exceeded my expectations.
Prior to Neighbors, I used another fairly reputable company and they were absolutely horrible. The two guys they sent didn’t speak English, and I’m not being discriminatory here, but when it takes 5 minutes to explain that I want something wrapped… I mean, that’s time on the clock, dude. One guy maybe had a big lunch so he decided to use my bathroom (that I’d already cleaned) and he occupied it for over 20 minutes — again on the clock. Horrid!
So I turned to Neighbors. I had a team of 3, led by Dan (who sadly no longer works there), and they were fantastic. They were really helpful and efficient and it was clear that three of them worked well together. They were perfect gentlemen and completely professional with everything. They were upfront about all costs
Two years later, I used them again. Not as great a team, but they got the job done more than well enough. They beat their time estimate, even after looking over all of my stuff, and they gave me a generous discount because they forgot the measly 2 furniture pads I ordered as a precaution. They consolidated my smaller boxes into their wardrobe boxes to make the moving go faster and the truck-​trip safer. My things all went into a storage unit and they went out of their way to arrange stuff best incase of floods or damp. It really isn’t the most glamorous job in the world, but these guys work hard and give it their best.
I totally recommend them and I feel really torn at reading all the negative reviews. I would say put down an inventory of everything you have and any special items that need extra care, and have all your boxes securely packed and taped. Take into consideration any stairs, elevators, or long distances, and where a truck would have to park, as well as what traffic will be like. Note: Neighbors also gives discounts for employees of some businesses — be sure to ask!
