I just moved to the area and went on Unilocal saw the reviews and gave them a shot! I am so glad I did because the dogs look amazing!!! they look like stay Puff marshmallow’s. The girl at the front desk even gave me a cute little gift bag, The Bears what I call them, have cute little ties around their neck they are super fluffy clean and they smell amazing! I highly recommend this spot as it will be my groomer going forward! I hit the jackpot here with the staff, the groomer and with the love!

Love these guys so much. I’ve tried nearly all grooming salons in Burbank. Some offer great customer service, some offer great products and services, some have a warm, inviting and welcoming boutique environment, and some offer a great experience for the dog. It’s rare to find a grooming salon that has ALL of these in one place. A La Mutt absolutely has all of these greats all in one. The owner and staff feel like friends who happen to love your dog and they do such great work! I have a corgi with a very serious undercoat that must be managed; otherwise, I end up with corgi hair tumbleweed all over my house. I have not seen one bundle of corgi tumbleweed since we’ve been coming to A La Mutt. Highly recommend to everyone who wants a great experience for both themselves and their fur-​children.

Such a wonderful experience here! I was worried about leaving my puppy alone for a grooming but everyone was super friendly and she was wagging her tail nonstop. The shop was very clean and they gave her a great bath. They also gave me a lovely puppy package filled with treats and were super accommodating when I was running late to pick her up. Great place with great people!

Went here today for the first time with my dog and my dog was a total nightmare! Due to a bad visit to the vet, she’s pretty traumatized. So needless to say, I was that pet parent that had the problem child who threw a tantrum. The staff here was amazing!!! No matter how horrible my dog acted, they did not once say they couldn’t help. I was so impressed! Embarrassed but very impressed! Thank you to the amazing staff here who was patient, kind and so understanding. And if you’re reading this, I’m sorry once again that Flower is a demon.

Not only do they sell the most amazing brand of dog foods here (try the Italian non GMO no renderings Natura and Delicious!) but the owner is so incredibly nice helpful and generous!!! Goes out of her way with customer service! Happiest and chicest vibes! Animals love her and humans do too!

Sharayah is AMAZING! She does such a great job on my kitties, and they are def not easy cats to do. They absolutely hate being groomed lol! But she treats them so well and makes sure they are happy, well as happy as a wet cat can be, and most of all they look so cute! She blends all the lines really well and gives them such a seamless perfect lion cut! She also does dogs too! Which of course she’s amazing at that too! She is such an animal person and she really cares about every pet that’s in her hands. I tell everyone i can about her! Don’t even think twice about taking your pet elsewhere! This is the best place you can take your pet for a comfortable grooming experience and a perfect cut! They also clean teeth, clip nails, do the anal glands, and clean ears! It’s a full service shop! Check this place out and request the cat lady herself, Sharayah!

I just love the owner here. She always has the best advice for my pets & she does whatever she can to make taking care of them affordable. I also love how she partners with pet adoption agencies & community building functions. This is by far my favorite pet supply store.

Always have the unique food I get my dog which is ziwi peak. Best food for dogs — try it if you want the highest quality nutrition for your pooch. Friendly ladies always help and they have bully sticks for a way reasonable price compared to bigger pet store rates

Went in for the non-​anesthesia teeth cleaning today, which they hold on the second Friday of the month. My Jackchi, Winston, who is a bit nervous around groomers and vets did great! The man that worked with him was very gentle and the result was a happy dog with pearly whites at the end of it all. I highly recommend the service.

I LOVE this place! This shop has adoption events for both cats and dogs, and I like to support shops that give back to the community and animals of the community. Not to mention that my 5 dogs and 1 cat always look and smell AMAZING when I pick them up! The shop owner has educated me so much on the importance of good food. and what to look for in a food, whether I buy it from her store or online. I wouldn’t dream of taking my pets anywhere else!

They groomed my dog, Louie-​a maltipoo– so nicely. It was my first time there yesterday since I moved in to this neighborhood, I walked by and saw a groomers. I made an appointment on Saturday at noon. Although it did take 5 hours, they did a great job and it all depends on how your dog reacts to all the grooming parts. They do warn you that depending on your dog it takes up to 3 – 5 hours. They cal you for a heads up to come pick up your dog too. Louie for one hates all of this, so he took quite a time but he looks so cute I’ve been taking pictures of him non stop. The place is reasonably priced too, I paid $ 65 for his grooming. Very kind staff. Definitely will take Louie here again.

My dog had a teeth cleaning a few months ago that went great. At the time of the appointment I was told it would be $ 130, and every time after that only $ 30. Sounds great, right? What was NOT mentioned was that it’s only $ 30 if you come once a month, and every month you don’t come it basically doubles. It’s been a few months, so it’s back to the full price. The entire reason I chose this business over the other ones is because they sold me on that deal.
They really need to explain this to customers properly. I’m not going to come back due to this misrepresentation of services.

They did a great job on my shy little shih tzu, but it was by far the most expensive cut she has ever, ever had. Didn’t love the way I was treated, and felt very misled.
When I called to ask about their rates for a shih tzu, they told me grooming, with a haircut, would start at $ 55. We would have to wait over a week for an appointment, but the reviews were awesome /​we were new to the area, so I wanted to try it out.
When I picked her up, I was a bit shocked when they told me it would be $ 75. I questioned the higher price and explained what I was originally quoted on the phone /​that I am currently on a budget, and the employees basically laughed at me as they said, yeah, that price is for a chihuahua. That was our STARTING price. Your dog is not a chihuahua.
For real? I totally thought she was. Which was why I’d asked about prices specifically for a shih tzu.
Sorry. This happened last winter, so perhaps things have miraculously changed or improved? Really the owner seemed super sweet, but I did not enjoy my experience. Pretty sad. The store is adorable and my pup’s cut was absolutely precious.

I rescued my sweet little girl in Feb of this year. She is amazing and after working with multiple dog trainers, going to the dog park EVERY day, and introducing her to new people every single day (have a home office), my little girl has really grown into a confident and trusting dog. She was terrified of men when we first got her, I mean, literally would fall apart. So we started meeting on the outside of our house with treats. Which allowed her to get comfortable before the «no longer a stranger» would come inside. She loves new people now and knows we will never let someone mistreat her. She loves meeting new dogs and people.
**This is why I don’t like this place** I call before coming in and make an appointment for a nail trim. I tell them she is a rescue yaddah yaddah. I’m told «bring her down, well give her treats and make her feel great!» Positive reinforcement!!! I love the place already! We get them and the man that will be cutting her toe nails comes out says hi then immediately picks her up. He has his face in her face and he’s staring her directly in the eyes. Why the dominant approach? You’re the first guy to do this to her since we got her. Just be sweet to my dog. I can see her body language and she is scared out of her mind. I immediately touch her and he instructs me not to… tells me I’m enforcing bad behavior by comforting her. Look dude, I studied to be a vet and I grew up on a ranch with dozens of dogs. I get them. For a moment there I felt pretty damn human and simply put I just hated the way you picked up my dog… what happened to the treats and making her feel comfortable? They know I’m uncomfortable and the woman behind the register says «don’t worry I’ll give them the break down they are first time parents.» No Miss Passive Aggressive, we just know how hard we have worked to make her trust humans again and you guys are obviously not as good with dogs as you think. The man cuts her nails and she’s obviously freaked out but in the end the job was done. The nail trim was not an issue it’s how these people act like they know everything. He actually comforted her after the trim… interesting that he reinforced her sad/​scared demeanor. Yeah. That’s right guy, I’ve read all of the dominance training books too and now I’m calling you out on your supposed «method.»
Anyway, so he brings her out and starts giving me a lesson on how I should be training her and that she needs to be comfortable with strangers picking her up? What? No. She could have bitten you. She should have bitten you but she didn’t. You needed the lesson guy. I don’t care if you’ve been doing it for 37 years you’re obviously on auto pilot and numb to what you do. Next time let the dog sniff your hand, give her a treat and then pick her up.
The same dog I trained to be completely off leash, come when I call her etc is supposedly the alpha dog he says. She will think she’s in charge blah blah blah. What if she does? The truth is I came for a nail trim not a coaching session.
Dogs have personalities and minds of their own. I told them I allow her to make her own decisions. As in, when a stranger enters my home I tell them to let her come to them. I don’t want people walking in and immediately sticking their fingers in her ears or getting in her face. If she wants that, cool… but let it be her call. I don’t look at my dog as something below me. They told me she will think she is the alpha if allowed to make her own decisions… well, she hasn’t yet. Like I said, I wish you would have gotten bitten.
Also, I had told them it’s her first trim and the woman responded with «how old is she… oh well how do you know it’s her first trim?» Because I do, lady. Why do you keep talking?
Ugh. Passive aggressive people. I wish her first nail trim could be a positive experience. sadly my little girl doesn’t hold grudges but I sure as hell do! Never again.
*Read the additional reviews that are hidden! Poor dog that got sick in his cage and they didn’t clean his feet. Monsters.

This is really an amazing place for you and your pupp. I brought in my little yorkie because she was scratching and itching all the time. I have not been able to figure it out. Laurie checked out her shampoo to make sure that it was ok and then took her in for a bath to see if they could help the itching. They also did little cut-​touch-​up. I forget the girl’s name who took care of Kasia, but I saw she was so gentle and loving with her — it just melted my heart. I love that you can watch the groomers through a window — there is absolutely no mystery of how they are handling the dogs. Kasia came out soooo cute and I do not think her coat has ever been this soft! She also smells heavenly, but what is most important, she is not itching as much! I am so happy she has some relief! So, this is our new «to-​go» place. Even though the prices are steep — it is absolutely worth it!

Absolutely LOVE this place! I’ve been taking my dog Maya here for at least 3 years now (if not more) and she absolutely loves it! She’s a 50-​something pound 4 year old mutt who loves everyone — dogs, cats, people… Laurie and her staff seem to love her too because she is always happy with her tail wagging away when I drop her off and always in a great mood when I pick her up. She was/​is a nervous shelter dog and I’ve heard gives kisses during her bath — which to me means she is totally comfortable with the stylists there. The ease of making an appointment and picking her up makes it only more enjoyable!

Laurie and the gang at a’ la mutt are rock stars! They always take super great care of my pup for both grooming and dental days. Her haircut is so pretty that I have been stopped on the street and complimented on its cuteness. And the store is fantastic.

I took my Lhasa Poo to a’la Mutt for her first haircut when she was 8 mos old. I was happy with the experience, so I returned 8 weeks later for regular grooming (bath, trim, nails, etc). However, my second experience was nothing like my first.
They were preparing their shop for filming… maybe that’s why they did not give my dog the treatment she deserves…
I dropped my pup off in the morning (10am) and I waited for their call to pick her up around 4:30pm. My dog urinated on their floor as soon as I arrived (which they were not happy about) — I found out that she hadn’t been relieved in over 6 hours. They said they didn’t take her out because I did not leave a leash. I wasn’t told to leave a leash, and I just ASSUMED (because it’s a professional dog grooming establishment) that leashes would be on-​hand.
My dog was sad when I picked her up. She’s usually a very friendly, outgoing, happy dog — and she looked miserable and scared. When I put her in the car, she smelled like chemicals (I did not request a chemical bath or any flea treatment whatsoever). I expected her to smell fresh (like my first experience). My dog was lethargic for 24 hours after her a’la Mutt experience. I took her to the vet, and he told me that her nails were never clipped…
I do not like the way a’la Mutt talked to me, or the way they handled my dog and the leash situation.
I will not return for a third time.
