Description

Specialties

We create peace. Our practice areas include Divorce and Family, Business, Non-Profit, Elder Care and Family/Marital Mediation. In Divorce and Family, we assist through the entire process including Parenting Plans, Custody, Settlement, Child Support, Spousal Support and can even help you file the final paperwork for the courts. We help resolve business conflict between partners, management and staff. We also offer conflict management training. We assist non-profits with board or staff conflict and team building. Elder Care includes disputes with families over estate, guardianship or conservator conflict, and elder abuse accusations. Family and Marital Mediation is not counseling. We offer specific help in resolving conflict within families, often around sex, kids, money or estranged children/siblings. We do this in one — three sessions. For those interested in a career in mediation or formal mediation training to add to a resume, we offer the full 40 hour basic training.

History

Established in 2005.

I realized the need for less expensive and more productive solutions to conflict than traditional litigation. With a background in mental health and 30 years of helping families, I launched Genesis Mediation in 2005. The firm has grown from just myself in one location, to a group of mediators in multiple locations. I want Genesis Mediation and staff to give excellent professional customer service, continue to refine and improve ourselves, and be a research and teaching firm using best practices in our respective areas. I now train other mediators and consult with business and non-profits.
