Reasonable pricing compared to the other places I shop for alcohol. The selection is great and it’s a fun place to browse through if you’re looking for something new. Clean and intutitive store layout, so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. Most employees tend to be knowledgeable and helpful. Didn’t really enjoy the wine I was recommended, but for the price I wasn’t terribly disappointed. During checkout I do always get skeptical looks when providing my ID (I guess I look young for my age)– it’s bothersome but understandable.

I love Total Wine. This is the best place in town (or quite possibly all of California) to buy alcohol– wine, beer, hard alcohol, and whatever else you are looking for. They also have cool gifts, cups, glasses, sodas, cigars, and more. Everything here is priced as cheap as you would be able to find it anywhere else. The prices can’t be beat, because they’re the cheapest.
As far as selection goes, this place also can’t be beat. Probably the largest selection of wine, hard alcohol, and beer in the area. Total wine makes bevmo look like an overpriced 711. This is the best place to go to when on the hunt for a rare beer or alcohol.
The workers here know their stuff. They are very helpful and knowledgable. Every employee I’ve encountered here has been super nice, as well. I’ll be back, as this is the best, cheapest place in town to buy alcohol!

I’m not sure if I just got unlucky, but pretty much every item I was interested in purchasing in this store would have been cheaper in the grocery store. My favorite New Zealand Sauv Blancs ranged from $ 2 to $ 7 more per bottle than the normal, non-​sale price in Vons or even Whole Foods. I moved on to reds, where I did see one bottle that was cheaper by about $ 1 than what I’ve regularly seen at other stores. I noticed a lot of the hard liquor was cheaper than grocery store prices, but that’s not what I went in for… I went for the WINE which is, you know, in the store’s name and focused on in the store’s commercials.
I would have left empty-​handed but I really needed to get a bottle as a housewarming gift and didn’t feel like I had time to run around to another store, so I got an overpriced bottle and got in line. There was one line at 5:45 pm and there were about 20 people in that line. The manager was busy hugging and saying a long goodbye to a friend and couldn’t bother to open another register for the entire time I was in that line. Worse, the check out girl had a bad cold and was sputtering and coughing over everyone and all their purchases, including wiping her nose with the back of her hands and then bagging the purchases without using any hand sanitizer.
Bottom line: Why would I want to wait 15 minutes in a long line just to get Typhoid Mary to ring up my overpriced emergency wine? Pass. I can’t imagine recommending this place even if you do find a brand/​type of booze that you want that is actually a deal.

If you have 30+ plus to kill, and/​or are looking for a unique or hard-​to-​find booze, go to Total Wine. This place is massive, and it has so many different choices. It also recently installed a beer and wine tasting section, which is fantastic.
It also has a walk-​in humidor as large as 5 refrigerated sections at a supermarket. I love going here, I always find something new and different to share with guests and friends. The second that discount mailer comes in the mail, I’m there.

Every single time I’m here, the staff has eagerly and successfully helped me find what I need with the most recent person being Johnny. He was adamant about helping me find the Skull Splitters… and here I am typing up this drunk review!

It’s that time of year when my boss’ birthday rolls around, and I’m always in a quandary as to what to buy him. He’s one of those men who, being the owner of his business, pretty much has whatever he wants, including expensive tastes. I checked with my boss’ son who works at the firm, and he was quite helpful. He suggested several different brands of single malt scotch, and because we were in the area, I chose to go to Total Wine & More (of course, not without first Unilocaling it).
This was impressive. I got about 20 feet into this massive inventory of mostly wine, but they had an equally impressive inventory of spirits, too. I have to be honest… I don’t drink much in the way of wine or spirits, but having had a discussion about scotch with my boss’ son, I learned a great deal. A Total Wine employee approached me almost immediately and led me to the scotch section. He stayed with me to point out where the specific bottles were that I had on my list. I was VERY happy to see a wealth of many, many, MANY kinds of scotch, and I was even happier to find the very specific kinds that my boss’ son recommended. The brands I was considering were a Highland Park 15 year single malt, Balvenie 14 year Caribbean Cask, An Cnoc 16 year, and Glenrothes 1998. You wouldn’t believe how many dozens, if not HUNDREDS more I viewed. Amazing to me because I had no prior clue about anything scotch. In fact, I felt like I walked into Scotland with so many bottles of single malt scotch. I love trying to pronounce all the Scottish names, complete with a Scottish brogue. But I digress.
What impressed me more were all the employees walking the floor to see if they could assist, whether it was me or someone else. I even had the pleasure of having TWO people help me. The first young man, while quite helpful, wasn’t really a scotch connoisseur, however, a young lady came along and inquired as to what we were doing, and she brought it home for me. She offered her opinion, and that was good enough for me. I truly appreciated both their assistance.
While I was on a bit of a time constraint today, I can definitely see myself returning here to not only look more closely at their inventory, but I would buy for myself, as well… with the assistance of Total Wine’s employees, of course.

How important is it that store clerks are friendly and welcoming? I’ve never been to this store. I didn’t even know it existed until I received a flier. It’s a beautiful store, well stocked and the prices aren’t bad. Unfortunately, I probably won’t go back because the clerks just weren’t friendly. They weren’t rude and they answered my questions but they never smiled or even made me feel welcome for a minute. There was no greeting and no thank you as I left… didn’t even acknowledge my thanks.

Great wine to choose from. But the customer service really sucks. Crystal was rude and condescending to my friend and I. I am in my twenties and I was treated like I didn’t know what I was talking about when I was buying a very nice wine. I will never shop here again.

HUGE selection, decent prices ($ 18.99 for a case of Beck’s bottles), great knowledgeable staff that really looks to help you find what you need. Great suggestions, and a good sized walk in humidor for you cigar fans!!! They must have 100 different tequila selections — try the Padrino Silver 100% agave — 90+++ star rating for $ 20 a bottle! This place makes BEVMO look like a JV squad!!!

I used to be a 100% BevMo guy and one day decided to check out TWM and now frequent TWM more than BevMo. I am generally there for beer or whiskey and TWM usually has exactly what I am looking for. The great thing is that if they do not have what you are looking for you can order what you do want online and it will be shipped to the TWM of your choice.
Bonus– the prices are very reasonable at TWM and you do not have to be a member to receive these great prices.

This place has everything you need when it comes to alcohol! Great deals and an amazing staff who are always willing to help!

I love me some BevMo but Total Wine really is the shizz.
I’m not much of a wine connoisseur but because of it’s proximity to my house I decided to give Total Wine a try to fulfill my brew needs. Towards the back right of the store you’ll find a vast selection of craft suds along with the regular mainstays found at your local grocer. Prices are very affordable and you don’t even need to be a member!
On the off chance you can’t find something that suites your needs you can order something online and have it shipped to the near location to you. I did this for a seasonal San Tan brew that I couldn’t even order directly from San Tan. I placed my order online at 9pm. The next morning I received an email confirmation that my beer was transferred and ready for pick up!!!
Parking is a bit of a mess due to the Ross located next door. Don’t let that deter you though because Total Wine & More is worth the parking angst. TMW is now THE go-​to place for me for all of my adult beverage needs.

Love it here! Staff is always friendly and I love how they have their recommendations listed everywhere. They send out coupons every once in awhile too.

I love this store! It has the largest selection of various wines and mixed drinks at the best prices… Whenever I need to stock up for a night in or party, this is my go to spot.
They also have a wide selection of mini bottles which is nice.

Great wine, spirit, and beer selection. Prices are good, not totally cheap, but the selection makes up for it. I like the posting of Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast ratings. You can get plenty of 90+ rated wines for under $ 20. Good service. My new place for booze!

This is a great store. We first discovered this chain while in Las Vegas and we’re still bummed there isn’t one in San Diego. I can’t speak on the wine or liquor selection, but their craft beer selection is amazing and their prices are great! I have a couple complaints:
— The layout of the craft beer area is confusing. One aisle is for «seasonal» or «specialty» releases, which is wonderful except that the rest of the craft beer is two aisles away from that. I don’t understand why they don’t put it all on the same aisle. We found that specialty aisle first and thought that was all they had since the rest of the aisle and the one after that were liquor. A bit annoying and it might cause someone to leave without buying if they don’t know there is another huge area of craft beer.
— The selection of chilled 22oz. bottles is severely lacking. I think there were maybe eight bottles to choose from, which is ridiculous considering how huge their shelved selection of bottles is. Make some room in that fridge, Total Wine! We love chilled singles.
Other than that, this is a great place to stop to grab some craft beer. I love the way it’s organized by type of craft beer (i.e. Porter, IPA, Saison, etc.). I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that they open a San Diego location very very soon.

Love browsing here and I always bring home an abundant of bottles.
I know they are probably understaffed by the wine tasting person was not there and seemed to be pre-​occupied with other work so the tasting/​explanation was low quality.

I. love. this. store. Man, I love it. Great job with the layout guys. I turn ADHD just walking into this place. My eyes can’t take it all in. I’m walking towards something, looking at 10 other things. I’m surprised I haven’t straight-​out bumped into something.
The wine is organized and displayed nicely. Totally dig the fact that the employees have put their faces/​names next to their favorites. I love the liquor selections from vodka to gin to tequila. Fantastic beer selections. Every mixer you can think of and some that’ll make you squeal. OOOOOOOH, I have to find a drink to make with this key lime liqueur. We got Swedish Fish flavored vodka. Yum.
Everyone who works here is very knowledgeable about their inventory and happy to tell you about their favorites. They offer a discount on 6 bottles as well as various other promotions and sales throughout the year. They have great barware and alcohol related stuff, perfect gifts for your drinking buddies. I LOVE all the little airplane size liquors they sell near the checkout lines. Great way to try something out before you buy a full-​size bottle.
I haven’t done a wine tasting here in a while, but when I did, it only cost a dime. Ridick.
