I came here in Tuesday night with a friend for dinner. It was pretty slow and the service seemed to be good. As I went online today, I saw I was charged $ 1.00 more for my tip then I had paid. I figured it was just an accident but I told my friend to check to see her account, seeing as though we asked for 2 separate checks. What happened to me happened to her too, $ 1.00 more for a tip came out of her account. Now I know this seems small but it’s about the principal. I called and asked to talk to a manager and I talked to a Sales Manager. He told me that this is probably the 2nd time it’s ever happened while he has been working there. He said that it must have been a fluke. Finally after him defending the store over and over again, he offered to refund my friend and I the $ 1.00 if we came in. Now, I don’t even live in TO so I’m not driving to get my $ 1.00. It’s about the principal. The manager did not seem very sorry out all for the inconvenience, he only seemed more worried about defending the store. Regardless to say, my friend and I will never be returning to this location for this reason. If the server takes a $ 1.00 more from every tip that seems to add up fairly quickly.

Honestly, I came here with some friends and I could not eat one thing on the breakfast menu. I need to be gluten-free and so that really limits things here. I am also vegan and that eliminates almost everything else. I asked if they might have some almond milk or soy milk to add to the coffee — no way — only the stuff from cows. That’s pretty strange these days. I think this place would do well for themselves to provide some healthy and alternative options for people with food allergies and those who choose healthy, plant-based options –that way everyone can eat here and enjoy it no matter what your diet.

Even though they initiated a new menu, the food and service has gone downhill. This would be the last choice for dinner.

The West Coast Reuben Sandwich is amazing! Along with the Basil tomate soup. Good place to go with the family.

Long time favorite casual dining choice. They keep evolving their menu, so it’s often different each time we stop by, which is fairly frequently. There are normally value choices, depending on how hungry you are that visit. Hard to beat their French onion soup. Have tried it many other places. Mimi’s still comes out toward the top 5% of the list. So savory! Their servers are almost always friendly, prompt, and courteous. They will check back after the food comes and make it right if something didn’t come out as expected. We prefer the large room to the right as you enter. The high ceilings and New Orleans-themed musical décor are fun for the eyes. Will not sit in the booths in the lunch-counter room. They are too upright and hurt my back! Their sweet brown bread is fit for dessert. We often take it home to have later, since the portions are plentiful. Lots of flavor here, which is what French bistro food is known for — so Mimi’s is on track.

The French Pot Roast was delicious and savory. So perfect for a comfort food as it’s poured over a bowl of mashed potatoes. The meat was well braised and melts in your mouth. Ate the entire thing with a spoon.

Went in for breakfast and had the salmon Benedict. It was very pleasing but the best part was the service. Tobie the bartender and everything went smooth. A great little spot for breakfast, have to try dinner sometime

Once the waitress acknowledged us, she was very efficient. My French toast was very tasty and sides were plentiful and good.

Daughter ordered a burger WITHOUT cheese. When the burger was served it had cheese oozing from all sides. I had to walk around the restaurant, with the plate and burger, looking for a server. They were happy to make another burger without cheese. When the new burger came back ITSTILLHADCHEESE! The two servers came and apologized and there was no charge on the meal. This was very nice.

Only one star because it wouldn’t let me post without it. Been there once a week for 8 weeks because it’s close to the hospital. Worst food, worst service. Twice had to write my own name on the pad at the hostess station. take your order and bring the wrong thing. Then to top it off you have to get up and walk around the restaurant to find your own check to pay. Last time going there ever.

Have been coming here so long they used to serve two muffins with every breakfast. Now, that is a long time ago. We love to come for breakfast especially but they have really gone downhill. They used to server very delicious chopped potatoes with a little onion and green pepper. They they just give you A LOT of plain brown salty potatoes. Would like to see some flexibility on ordering omelets. They don’t give that option. Have to order the muffin extra if you order any breakfast item that includes bread, like quiche? Will still go but it is not go to for very breakfast. Now in Northridge the Bob’s Big Boy is service a very good breakfast and the old Marie Calendars breakfast in Northridge is awesome plus you can get an early discount breakfast. Give them a try

This evening’s dining experience was immensely disappointing, especially for the price. Our meals were dry and tasteless. I was missing a pertinent condiment on my dish and only received it after I asked and after being told by the waitress that she didn’t know where to find it in the kitchen. Two of us ordered fries that didn’t show up until after we finished our meal. It took three separate requests to obtain a high chair. We were missing utensils. The service was very slow. The only reason I didn’t give a one star review is because the pre-meal bread basket was tasty. Thank God we had a Buy One Get One Free coupon or I probably would have summoned a manager.

We eat here regularly from breakfast to dinner, today is my surprise day because the server is very nice, she brought me some delicious breads while waiting for the food to cook, No one offered us the breads before, I didn’t complained but happy because their food is very good.

Food awful… French dip tasted like rubber, fries cold and greasy, cut up fruit was just a bunch of loose grapes. Won’t be returning

I was all prepared to write a disappointed review during my lunch visit today, but the staff here totally made it up to me and I left completely satisfied. I ordered a their chicken cordon blu sandwich with a small bacon and blu salad. I ordered the sandwich and the salad with no tomatoes, the sandwich without the mayo and the salad with dressing on the side. Sandwich arrived perfect. Salad did not appear to have any tomatoes but when I stabbed my fork in, I found that they were all hiding(tons of tomatoes) in the middle of the salad. As I was picking them out, my server came by and was shocked to see tomatoes(since none had been visible to her when she delivered the plate to me) and she offered to have the kitchen re-make it. I hate wasting food more than I hate tomatoes so I just said it was fine I could pick them out. I didn’t mention the fact that the salad also had dressing on it instead of on the side, as it wasn’t overdone. Anyway, I was still picking the tomatoes out(there were lots of them) when a manager came by and asked if she could have the kitchen remake my salad. I declined again and she asked if there was anything else she could get me, maybe a small soup? She didn’t say complimentary but it was implied in the tone of her voice. I politely declined. At the end of my meal I was still feeling a little grouchy about the whole incident, when my server came by with the bill and said that her manager felt really terrible about the mistake on my order and had given me a discount on my bill! I asked if maybe instead I could get the delicious looking chocolate molten cake dessert I’d just noticed a table-flyer for, and my server said she’d bring that out on the house! The chocolate molten cake was SOOOO fantastic! Even better than the warm cake with the piping hot chocolate sauce in the middle was the fresh cut strawberries, strawberry syrup and whipped cream on either side of the long plate. It was heavenly. I would totally recommend this dessert and I felt like the staff here went out of their way to make me happy. I am looking forward to my next visit. I loved my sandwich and would totally get that again. Maybe a bigger one!

Wow! Sought a much lighter dinner tonight and think I’ve struck gold! Found their Chinese Chicken Salad… just enough crunch… flavor…chicken…to keep my attention…, ate every bit of it… If you knew me personally… you’d know my salad choices tend to be limited unless they’re packed with flavor. texture…color…imagination…this is one of those few salads that became my new«go to»…;) Good job Mimi’s…hope you keep it on your menu permanently!!!

Eh, the food is alright. It’s nothing amazing. I think I liked this place better when I was young because they had mini corn dogs, which I wouldn’t regret ordering even at this age haha. Um, it’s definitely not my go-to place in the area, but it’s alright.
