Loved this place the pastries’ were delish! I paired them with a Café con leche. The man working behind the counter was extremely nice!

Was so happy to discover a cuban bakery in bergen county near me because driving to union city was getting super annoying. And they are 100% cuban family owned so they know real cuban food. Pasteles are amazing, so is their bread and they got all the cuban sodas available. I come here almost every weekend and it gets busier and busier each time. Guess a lot of other people are realizing how good this bakery is too!

Good food but extremely bad customer service. There’s an attitude in this place as if you(the customer) are a burden. These people need a lesson or two in customer service. Good, real good and perfect customer service brings back people and that equals money(profits)…DUH!!! If they continue with their poor bullshit customer service this place won’t be around too much longer.

Perfect cuban sandwiches! No need to travel to Union City anymore when the craving hits. And the steak sandwich is also excellent. Call ahead so you don’t need to wait while they make every sandwich fresh to order. The empanadas de carne and the pastelitos of carne and also guava are the perfect blend of sweet and savory. And last but not least, the coffee is the absolute best espresso in the area.

If you don’t speak Spanish you aren’t welcome… Or at least that’s how they made my husband and I feel this weekend. I’m an active Unilocal user when it comes to looking up reviews for picking a place to give my business. My first review has been prompted purely by the way the staff treated me while I was here. I will mention now that my husband is a good portion Nicaraguan, and while he can understand some Spanish from hearing it spoken at home as a child, he doesn’t know how to speak it very well. I myself am 100% Portuguese and while the languages are similar in some ways, they are far from being the same thing. But their menu was quite appealing to both of us do to our backgrounds and we were excited to try their food. We live around the corner and have been meaning to try this place for a while now based on all of the good reviews. When we first walked in we were greeted in Spanish and when I mentioned I didn’t speak the language the gentleman up front seemed pleasant enough and conversed with me and my husband in English as well as he could. We were all smiles when ordering and waiting, we were not at all unpleasant, rude, or impatient with anyone. After about 10 minutes an older lady came out from the kitchen and started speaking to me in Spanish again. I again mentioned that I did not speak Spanish to which she continued, louder, in Spanish. I looked at my husband and he shrugged(he later told me she was speaking too fast for him to make out what she said). The woman next to me very politely let me know what the lady was asking and helped me reply. Again we stood waiting patiently. About 5 minutes later she came back out and yelled out an order was ready, again in Spanish and neither of us could understand. Trying to be helpful, I said what we ordered and asked if that was what she had ready. The lady then got visibly mad and started bad mouthing us to the other patrons who were waiting and they all were laughing. My husband was able to make out that we were«a bunch of stupid americans» as well as a couple of other demeaning things. At this point everyone in the entire establishment stopped speaking English and the lady started using exaggerating hand symbols to communicate(even though the first man we spoke with was standing right next to her). We paid for our food and walked out not knowing what else to do. This lady went out of her way to be openly embarrassing by mocking and ridiculing us to the other people in the restaurant. The food, it wasn’t bad, pretty good even, but the service? I would never step foot into this establishment again…

Everything looks good and tastes better. There is a good selection to choose from including drinks; coffee and bottled sodas… Cuban style. Be patient with the owner, his English is not great, but it’s the pastry that counts.

Tiny place but their café con leche is made with dark, earthy espresso shots that are freshly ground to order. I’m a coffee snob and I love their coffee. Beats anything for miles around. Their pastries are like around $ 1 each and I’ve liked everything I’ve tried. The cubano is delicious. So much so I haven’t had chance to try rest of their sandwiches. The Queen Ann and Main St area is becoming quite the little foody intersection.

Small Cuban bakery and sandwich shop across from the great Yakitori 39. Local charm. Earnest feel. I got the Cuban sanwich which was quite good. I tried some of the turnovers which were good but not amazing. Café con Leche was very solid, and delicious. It had that chocolaty flavor that I love.

Food 4ish Ambiance n/a Service 4 O/all 4 This is a simple place. They serve tasty food at a great price. No real seating, you go to this place for exactly what they serve. I can only speak on the savory stuff. Things to note: 1/minimal counter seating 2/sandwiches are about $ 6…great bread and tasty protein simply prepared 3/decent cuban coffee…$ 2 for small 4/empanadas for $ 1.50 werent bad, had better homemade ones before 5/cash only 6/staff barely speaks english and they have photos of their sandwiches

Tiny tiny place — if you blink you missed it. But worth the stop!!! Good food, fresh and delicious. And it’s a plus that I don’t have to go all the way to West New York for an excellent papa rellena :). And the pastries? Out of this world!

Tried out this bakery this afternoon with my son. Ordered 15.00 worth of cookies and cakes. What a mistake! The small tres leches cake was so bad. The frosting was warm and it had a tart taste. I also bought a large cake and I didn’t want to risk having the nasty taste in my mouth so that went right into the garbage. To make it even worse the small pastry that I ordered had small mold spots on the bottom. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I lose my mind for their tres leches cake! $ 2.50 for a small tin of divine greatness that’s swimming in a pool of heavenly leches. Close second is the guava and cheese pasteles. I’d try a new pastry every day if I could, but I can’t be on beach whale status this summer. Come winter though — game on! Street parking is terrible, but the hassle is worth is for all this good good.
