ChooseVets is an online marketplace that enables people to be more productive by connecting them with veterans and military members willing to work. Customers can outsource their tasks, jobs and errands to local veterans within their communities. These jobs can be large or small, simple or complex, repeating or one time only. Tasks such as:

At ChooseVets, we believe patriotism isn’t measured by what you say, wear or feel, it’s measured by actions — what you do. We feel that one of the best ways that the American public can support returning military veterans is to hire them, utilizing their skills and work ethic to accomplish projects and tasks.

Today, there are 21 million military veterans in the United States. Each year, 200,000 — 250,000 veterans leave the service and reenter the civilian world. ChooseVet’s mission is to provide opportunities for these military veterans to earn money, learn entrepreneurship and support themselves through the dignity of work. We want to help veterans use the skills and work ethic they acquired in the military to support themselves as they transition back to the civilian world.

These opportunities could include something elaborate as creating a business or something as simple as making some extra cash to pay bills.

Steve created the concept for ChooseVets in August of 2013 while completing an MBA and studying for the bar exam. One year earlier he had formed «Veterans Moving Company,» a local company that employed only U.S. military veterans. Through this company he learned that the skills and needs of veterans and clients could be perfectly aligned in the «on-​demand» economy.

Steve served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army for nine years and completed combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He is currently a Major in the Army Reserves and commands a PSYOP Company.

Steve earned a B.S. in Mathematics from West Point in 1999 and a Law Degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 2013. He graduated with his MBA from the University of Washington in June of 2014.
