Dr. Cool Inc.

Our experience was the opposite of Whitney B.‘s. We were getting quotes for adding central A/​C to the home we recently purchased. We found Dr. Cool on
so called to receive a quote from them. Wayne came out and met with us. He was an excellent HVAC consultant. He shared several options and told us when it wasn’t worthwhile to spend more money. Our existing gas furnace was at the end of its use life and had already required a service call in the 2 months we’d been in the house so we replaced the furnace in addition to adding central A/​C. The quote from Dr. Cool was less expensive than others we received for the same equipment, including from the company that had been servicing the existing furnace. The installers were friendly, professional and had great attention to detail. I highly recommend Dr. Cool for your HVAC needs.

Unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about HVAC and Rich knows it. I recently bought an older home and when I had the home inspection done it was brought to my attention the furnace needed to be serviced. Being a Sumner business owner myself, I wanted to support another Sumner business so I called Dr. Cool. They sent out Rich who told me that the furnace should be «condemned» and I was in danger if I ran it. (Ok well I know nothing other than it was blowing out a lot of heat but, why wouldn’t I believe him)? So he gives me a ridiculous bid to replace my existing furnace. I decide to get 3 bids total and then make my decision. I end up having it replaced by someone else but then go through 250 gallons of propane in a very short time. I decide to call Dr. Cool again to come back out and make sure that it was installed properly just to be safe. It was Rich again who came back. He tells me that it was installed totally wrong, that it wasn’t even the size I was told it was, and that he was surprised I hadn’t had a fire! Naturally I am freaking out thinking I just got scammed! Trying to make a long story short there was a 3^rd party (Home Depot) who was able to tell me that the furnace was installed properly and it was the correct size! So shame on Rich for lying to me and sending me on a wild goose chase. I am now doubting that my furnace should have ever even been «condemned». A very hard lesson to learn and sadly I will make sure no one that I know goes to Dr. Cool.
