As if 10÷21÷15 this restaurant has closed. No immediate plans for owner. Tough business in this seasonal town. Many great eating places but too many for locals to keep going year round. Too bad this was a good restaurant.

Our food was bland and dry. Service was poor and our waiter talked to fast. Our drinks were watery and bland, and to top it off, everything was overpriced. Not coming back and wouldn’t recommend coming here.

Great brunch choice on s Stowe. Just had a lovely Frittata with fresh greens on the plate. The rest of the brunch menu looked enticing and reasonably priced as was the Bloody Mary for $ 6. Sat at the bar and had attentive service.

Clean, courteous and a culinary delight! My husband and I stopped by while enjoying this beautiful autumn afternoon. The menu offered was lunch or brunch. Brunch is only offered on Saturday and Sunday. The outside of the restaurant is a cheerful yellow farmhouse style. But the inside surprised us. It’s modern and I would have said cold if they didn’t infuse the dining are with warm dark wood tables and burnt orange leather seats. It was immaculate and the high seats offered the right amount of privacy. Nicely done. But the food… oh my farm-fresh goodness, the food was a taste of heaven in the mountains! My husband ordered the Crab and Corn Cakes Benedict. As a cook himself, he can be very fussy. He thought this might be a risky choice, but based on the oohs and ahhhs between bites, I can assure you there was no risk. He stated the hollandaise sauce was freshly made with fresh ingredients. It was the best hollandaise sauce he has ever had. And he said the crab and corn cakes were so good they could have stood on their own. But with perfectly cooked fresh eggs and that incredible hollandaise sauce, he became an instant fan. The combination was delectable! I ordered the house cured Copper River Sockeye Salmon. Well folks, I am here before you, stating this was the best cured salmon I have ever had! I tasted light notes of apple and maple with just a back flavoring of smoke. So fresh, so unique, so pleasing to my palette! This was served on a bed of string potatoes, lightly browned, and greens, capers and a lovely dill sauce. These favors literally danced on my tongue! In addition to the great food, our waitress had a quick smile and provided great service. Go there! You will not be disappointed. This was a great farm-to-table experience.

I had their fish and chips(Atlantic Cod) and Fish of the day — something that they vary preparing day to day. Both were delicious. Definitely recommended

Great Bar! Fairly new restaurant for. The owner has created other restaurants in Stowe, including the now defunct, Blue Moon Café. The entrée selections are a bit unusual and unique for Vermont, like Shrimp and Grits? Lamb Meatballs? If you enjoy raw oysters then without a doubt this is the place to go. Nice setting. Looking forward to a new menu. :-)

Great upbeat place to get a drink and enjoy a meal with friends. Fresh oysters! Little on the loud side, so, not great for a working lunch or dinner.

First time having dinner at this place. I was always hesitant because I had heard mixed reviews. But I have to say my whole family and I were so impressed! I don’t do oysters but the fam ordered two rounds of them and throughly enjoyed them. We got the ceviche, spring rolls, Mac and cheese and lamb meatballs to keep the momentum going. And everyone either ordered the Baja burrito or individual tacos. I got a Carne asada taco as well as a chicken taco. It was all pretty amazing! Freshly made corn Tortillas were a great detail. A couple of coconut cream pies and a chocolate mousse later, everyone was happy. I didn’t indulge in dessert since I’ve given up sugar. But it all looked amazing! The décor was great, service was friendly. Overall great experience, will be back again for sure!

Had a really nice time for Saturday brunch. The inside was totally empty with a couple and another family seated outside, so we sat outside. We weren’t sure what to make of it since it was so quiet, but then we saw the beer list and menu and got excited. They had Hermit Thrush Brattlebeer on tap and I had a can of Heady. Good start. Then the food came out. She got the pancakes with an orange and cinnamon butter that made the dish. I got the pork belly benedict and was not disappointed. Some savory, some heat, and the eggs were poached perfectly. Pleasantly surprised by the Phoenix and will look for it if we are ever in the area again!

We went here for dinner not too long ago and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. At first, I looked at the menu with a bit of speculation, but as soon as I tasted what they had to offer, I was sold. Their food might not be your normal bar style, but that doesn’t stop them from being delicious. If you’re not a drinker, I highly recommend their root beer on tap and their Lamb Meatballs were excellent. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, great food.

Had an amazing dinner. The kale salad was perfectly massaged and the chunks of avocado and toasted pumpkin seeds were truly tasty! The special was softshell crab sandwich– haven’t had a sandwich this good in years. The new menu has so many great choices. If you haven’t been this year, your in for a treat! Extremely disappointed in the experience at Phoenix. I had wanted to try it for months and finally got there last Friday night with my husband. We waited about 5 minutes at the hostess stand before someone came over to greet us. He was very nice but had to wait for his daughter(the apparent hostel) to seat us. We waited another couple minutes for her when she showed up she didn’t even acknowledge us and kept whispering to her father and the three servers that were now at the hostess stand. She finally told her father to seat us anywhere… rude… and walked away. We were seated at an awkward half round bench table where we uncomfortable sat next to each other and looked at the other tables. The father nicely came and gave us water and then 10 minutes went by without a single other interaction with any staff. We got up and left. I wish I could comment on the food but I never got the chance to eat anything. It seems there is a lack of communication within the hostess department and I pretty much blame the whole bad experience on her… it might be fun to entertain the idea of running a restaurant but its hard work and you must be a people person. Kudos to the waitress who suggested to the hostess that she seat us and then was told she already had a table seated that she was not aware of… same thing probably happened to us. Plus, if a restaurant in Stowe is not at least 2⁄3 of the way full on a Friday night at 6:30 it seems people have given up on it… I don’t see them lasting very long if their service continues to push people away.

Some aspects were worth five stars and others three. Parties of two were sat at little round tables that were at awkward angles and too small. We weren’t given appetizer plates and our dinner plates were left for a long time. The duck spring rolls didn’t really bring the duck flavor across, but were still amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection, but the tuna was lacking — perhaps a low quality grade? The vegetables and potatoes were delicious though. Plus they had copper mugs and Topper. Solid four stars. Would definitely go there again.

I couldn’t say better things about this place. The menu was something as varied and delicious as something I’d find in downtown Boston. I ordered a burger, and topped it with a fried egg, cheddar, and bacon and it was delicious. My boyfriend got the fried chicken sandwich. I took a bite and almost wished I had ordered that instead(which I will definitely order if we get back there). The fries were great, and came with this malt vinegar aioli which I couldn’t get enough of. Our drinks were also great. I got the Orange Crush cocktail, which was delicious and strong, and my boyfriend got the New Fashioned. We were both really impressed. We also were fans of the décor and atmosphere.

We’ve eaten here twice and both times the meals have been very good. The staff is friendly and attentive. I really liked the fact that it is right on the bike path and they have outdoor seating. I know we will be eating here many more times…

Sat at the bar and ordered a bunch of appetizers and from the raw bar. The oysters were a sample of 3 different varieties which were delicious and fresh. Lamb meatballs were absolutely delicious and the tamales of the day was awesome(Kale, brisket, red pepper) topped with red and green sauce. The salt cod fish balls were good but nothing special. Very nice cocktail, beer, and wine menu. The staff was also very nice, welcoming, and helpful.

We had just rolled into Stowe and were in the mood for some dinner. The tourist map of the town we picked up was like totally not drawn to scale, so we thought it would be a good idea to walk up the recreation path alongside Mountain Road looking for a place to eat. An hour later after walking three or so miles it was pitch black outside, so we stumbled into this place and cried uncle. I’m a sucker for any place that has the word farm and/or table in it, preferably decorated with a lot of light wood wood and brushed aluminum and hopefully also with an emphasis on «local ingredients», so I was set up to enjoy this joint even before the long-ass walk just beforehand made me grateful to have anything at all. I had the shrimp and grits, which were solid, the lemon-tinged grits being the star of the plate. The SO really, really enjoyed her dish, which also included the same grits plus kale, a poached egg, and a hefty dose of chanterelle mushrooms; she’s a vegetarian and so goes kina gaga over any place that does more than some lame veggie burger. Sometimes when you’re in a little resort town like Stowe, you get tired of the same old comfort food classics that every place seems to serve, and Phoenix would definitely fit the bill if you’re in the mood for a little twist.
