Wildly impressed. my friend and I came to Stowe for a girl’s weekend and quickly made a reservation here since we had read good things. Considering it’s technically a hotel restaurant(part of the green mountain inn) I wasn’t too sure what to expect but everything was delicious. my friend & I both had the spicy dirty martini with cayenne pepper– amazing. so amazing we had two. only problem was the spice was a little inconsistent– first one wasn’t too spicy, second one was definitely spicy and maybe not enough olive juice but still delicious. The we shared the maple glazed wings– maybe the best wings I’ve ever had and I’m a wing fanatic. For our entrees we were going to get the filet but felt it might be a little heavy after the wings so we both got the ahi tuna which was delicious. not the BEST tuna(I’m also a tuna fanatic) I ever had, but very very well done. since it was a girls weekend we had to get dessert and we weren’t disappointed– blueberry apple crisp which a nice scoop of vanilla on top hit the SPOT. wait staff was also very friendly and accommodating– they also gave great recommendations! If I’m ever in Stowe again, I’m definitely coming back.

Highly recommend! We stumbled upon this great restaurant in the Green Mountain Inn on our way home from the weekend. We got there right at 11:30AM when they opened for lunch. The atmosphere is amazing and the food and drink menu was diverse. We ordered a signature cocktail and a beer to start along with the mussels and corn chowder. The corn chowder was some of the best we have ever had!!! The mussels were fresh and a good size portion. We ordered the Green Mountain Club and fish and chips for main course. Hands down, the club was so fresh and amazing we both were fighting over the last bite. Fresh made bread, Vermont bacon, local veggies… Can’t go wrong!!! Seems like it could get super busy and have a wait but they take reservations and have a great bar area to wait at if needed.

We came here for some drinks and ended up getting an appetizer or 2. At first it took a while for a waitress to even recognize us. The bar seemed to be for the older crowd. The dining area had families that were probably staying in the green mountain inn which the whip was attached to. Our drinks were tasty. We ordered the maple glazed chicken wings and the ahi tuna wonton tacos. Both were delicious and fresh. The maple glazed chicken wings were to die for. The flavor and the slight crisp from the glaze was perfect. And since we don’t like heavy coated and wet wings, this was great. We wanted to just go back the next day and get more wings. 4 stars for the alright service.

I ate here for the first time yesterday and I must say, I was extremely pleased. I showed up right at opening and was very happy to see an extensive beer list as well as the difficult to find Focal Banger available. I recommend the Green Mountain club. Hands down one of the best club sandwiches I’ve ever had.

Went here a few weeks ago and it was so wonderful. My hostess Caitlyn was so polite and helpful she was quick about getting us what we wanted and making sure our water was full. I had some delicious chicken with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes blew me away and the chicken was moist and tender. Great restaurant wonderful service! I will be eating there again.

Had dinner there last night. Big group for a wedding party. Vermont cheddar stuffed chicken with crispy green apples. Lightly fried on the outside with a good crunch. Cheese and apples stuffed inside to complement. Perfectly cooked and I had a double servings of grilled veggies subbing the red bliss mash. Brussel sprouts and carrots. I actually #cleanedmyplate! Our server was nice, informative, but it did take a few minutes to get our check at the end. The environment is enjoyable, warm Vermonty feel and we sat in the back so noise was not an issue.

Such a delightful location for a perfect Sunday brunch in Stowe. Both their breakfast and lunch menu items are beautifully executed, and if you are lucky enough to be seated outdoors, the enjoyment factor is amplified. Wish they offered brunch every day of the week.

Delicious and great service! The whip burger is where it is at! Absolutely loved the flavor and the ambiance! A little pricy for my taste but comparing it to the other restaurants around it is the same pricing, so I can’t blame them.

Very pleasant and unhurried lunch today and we couldn’t be more impressed. Excellent service(Dana) and the soup of the day and entrees were served in timely fashion at a proper temperature. Kitchen does a great job, with excellent presentations. Applause for all; we’ll be back soon!

The Whip was recommended to us by our concierge and we were so pleased. Everything was outstanding and the prices are great. Among the five of us we had corn chowder, pastrami sandwich, BLT and burger. Best sandwich I’ve ever had.

We ate there during the British Invasion. Sole and lobster excellent. Steak excellent. Shrimp excellent. Good service and the ice tea was fresh. Would definitely go there again. The location in the center of town is good but if there is an event parking can be a problem.

Old school restaurant since 1833. We met some people here for an early dinner and I tried the recommended Whip Burger. The burger was first rate very flavorful and fresh tasting. The interior is very classic old school, the wait staff, our server were all great. At first only a few customers were inside, but after we ate and were ready to go the place was packed.

This was, hands down, the best restaurant meal that I have had in a VERY long time. First of all, it is located in the historic Green Mountain Inn right in Stowe Village, and we enjoyed looking at all of the old photos on the wall in the entryway. Upon entering the restaurant, we were pleased with the ambiance — open kitchen, busy bar, fun atmosphere, with servers and patrons buzzing about. We were a party of five, and four of us ordered the Montréal-rub ribeye. All of our steaks were cooked to perfection, from seared to medium, and it was so succulent and tender. The potatoes were wonderfully fluffy, and our plates were all beautiful. We all also ordered salads as starters — the BLT salad was quite good(similar to a wedge salad). To boot, our server, Barb, was great fun… We finished with dessert — I got the caramel bread pudding and the others got the flourless chocolate cake. Delicious all the way around… We all enjoyed this place and can’t wait to return! It was certainly a treat for locals like us!

Wow. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Summer soup was great. The LAMB was out of this world and anyone who reads my post knows I love lamb and eat it out often. In my top 2.

Just had a marvelous dinner here after a very long day of travel. I had the lobster roll which was full of delicious lobster meat. My husband had the roasted beet salad with two lovely crab cakes. Our server was Penny who was so kind to these two weary travelers. She made wonderful on the spot suggestions. We will certainly return for more!
