I wanted to give a big shout to Joshua DeVaughn and the 3 man moving crew that got my family moved Thanksgiving week. The crew showed up when they said they would. Took great caution with all of our furniture and electronics as well as the floors and walls at both homes.
The estimate was spot on, we were quoted 6 hours to move and got a solid 6 hours of hard work with no breaks by the crew. I would highly recommend them to any of my friends and family. Happy New Year My Guys!

We just used My Guys for the second time around, and especially after the last time, I cannot see myself using another moving service in the DC area. Both times we used My Guys, the crew was extremely professional and careful with our belongings, and they worked quickly and smoothly.
However, during our last move, the crew went absolutely above and beyond. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the crew had to park the moving truck about a block away from our new apartment. The crew dealt with the situation with the utmost professionalism – they maintained a positive attitude and moved our items quickly and carefully. Not once did they express any sort of negativity or cut back on quality.
We will continue to be loyal My Guys customers, and we will recommend them to everyone we know who is moving!

If I could give these guys more stars I would! They did a fantastic job moving us. They were early, professional, friendly, and extremely courteous and conscientious. We used them only to move, not to pack and they moved us into a new construction with not one mark on the wall or item broken. I felt like we got a lot of man hours for what we paid and would recommend them to anyone.

I have used My Guys Moving & Storage three times in the past two years and all I can say is they are awesome! I was looking for someone to take apart and load antique furniture in a rental truck for me for a reasonable price. My Guys was perfect for the job. They were courteous, efficient, showed up on time, handled the furniture and my house carefully, and when I finished the 10-​hour trip, nothing had shifted or been damaged. Thanks, My Guys!

I can’t remember the names of the two guys who helped us with our move, but they were very impressive. The move out of the apartment went very smoothly and I’m glad that we reserved the elevator for the morning to expedite the process. They were extremely quick and avoided hitting any walls or leaving any marks. I can’t believe that it took them 20 – 30 minutes to move everything out of the apartment (which had an elevator), and about 30 – 45 minutes to move everything into our new townhouse (no elevator, two flights of stairs). The moving process would have taken me HOURS, even with the help of some friends. Their cardio endurance was incredible, and that’s coming from someone who has run a few marathons.
I can say that I was very satisfied with hiring My Guys Moving & Storage for my move. You saved me time, effort, and stress — all for a fair price.

Moved out of my apartment of weeks ago and couldn’t have been more pleased with my service. I was very anxious about the move and the two gentlemen (John and his partner who I can’t remember the name of) that showed up were amazingly fast, friendly and funny. Making the appointment was a breeze. The guy is pose with was amazingly patient and friendly. Pricing was fair and honest. No hidden fees! The move was just all around perfect. I will definitely be using them again.

Nice guys, hard workers, and good, fair service. They moved a house up four flights of stairs in August heat without any complaints. I would reccomend moving with My Guys.

We were very impressed with the work ethic and professionalism of My Guys Movers. They arrived on time, and never stopped working. The guys were courteous, friendly to our baby, and took care of our house.
The estimate we were given pre-​move, was spot on with the first part of our move.
We packed our own boxes, but had the movers put everything in the truck and into storage.
We will have the items moved out of storage in September and moved to North Carolina. We will be able to give a more detailed review after that. Thus far though, we have been very happy with the service.

I can’t begin to express my disappointment, especially after I thought I’d done my research and there are many other excellent reviews. The services I used were packing, temporary storage at their facility, and the final move into my new place.
The estimate with Chris went well and I felt it was slightly high, but fair. He shared some bad moving experiences of his own and emphasized that he really wanted to help others avoid having to deal with similar issues. Two movers showed up promptly on the day of the move, but that’s about the only good thing they did that day. One, who appeared to be «in charge,» kept going out onto my balcony to make or accept phone calls. When he was working, he seemed to be packing multiple rooms at the same time instead of making sure one room was done before moving onto the next. Upon claiming he was done, I went through and pointed out everything he had missed. Even after that, I still had to pack several cabinets myself after they left (for which I accept full responsibility since I should have checked again after he said he was «done» the second time).
The worst part is that when I moved into my new place and started opening boxes, I found many that only contained one thing or were only half-​filled. That makes me feel like they were just trying to charge me more for boxes/​claim they were packing more because I was being charged per vault for storage. Because they were so poorly packed, many of the boxes had split open from the weight of heavier items being placed on top. That’s when I discovered that instead of wrapping fragile items individually, they’d been dumped into a box (which granted, was lined with paper), and another layer of paper put on top so they knocked into each other and broke beacuse the boxes weren’t full. They also wrapped a floor mirror in a blanket instead of properly packing it and, of course, it shattered. The wood on my couch was also gouged and deeply scratched in several places. The couch was almost brand new and no damage was noted on the movers documentation so the only question to me is where it happened — while they were wrapping it or when they moved it into/​out of storage.
The reason for a two star review instead of one star is because of the movers who brought everything to my new house. They were prompt, efficient, and careful. One told me he was suprised at the poor job that was done with my packing because it wasn’t typical of the company’s work. I don’t know what happened then. They didn’t unpack for me, but I documented the damaged items we all could see (mirror/​couch) on the forms, and was told that someone from the service side would be contacting me. Nope. So I called a few days later and was again assured someone would contact me. It’s been about three weeks and since I’m tired of waiting, have decided to share my experience.

If you read my other reviews, you’ll note that I’m pretty harsh on vendors… however, with MyGuys, they performed exceptionally well and truly earned each and every one of the five stars I’ve awarded in my review. In most cases — you hire movers for an amount of time and the quote you are provided for local moves is based on how much time they think it’s going to take to move your stuff from location 1 to location 2.
I first met with Austin J. and he gave me a quote — it wasn’t the lowest price (very close), but his methodology for estimation was very sound and I felt most confident that he really knew how long it would take. It was clear that he knew how to estimate and rather than just going with an «online» submission, he met me at the house, examined the furniture to address the weight, determined how many «MyGuys» would be needed and then calculated the time it would take which was estimated to be 3.5 hours… we had already moved almost all of our stuff ourselves — we just had our furniture remaining for the most part.
My circumstance was slightly different than most people in that I also had them move a 6’7″ Autographed Grand Piano — this thing is my most prized possession — and it was CRITICAL that it was disassembled properly, packed for move properly, and then reassembled at the new house without having any scratches, or flaws.
On the day of the move, I stressed to the team how concerned I was about the piano, and the initial response I got was in order to do everything correctly, it might take 5+ hours — not the 3.5 I was quoted. I immediately got back on the phone with Austin, and he assured me that he was confident in his estimate. When he talked to his onsite team lead — he made the decision that in order to absolutely make his estimated time, he would come assist and bring his brother out to help… talk about dedication… moving furniture is not fun and this guy not only came out himself, but talked his brother into coming over to help as well…
Everything went flawlessly — the meticulous nature in which they disassembled the piano (labeling where each nut and bolt went) — the method by which they essentially triple packed it and protected it, the way the team worked together to lift the 800lb behemoth and take it down 16 stairs flawlessly, secure it in the truck, and then reassemble in the new house — I simply couldn’t have been more impressed.
They finished in 3 hours and 34 minutes… he didn’t even think of charging me for the extra 4 minutes and on top of it, he steered me to Unilocal to download a coupon where you spend $ 50 and get $ 100 worth of credit…
There is no question these «MyGuys» care — it is so rare in business these days to find it anymore — I assume this is how customer service «used» to be and for once, to be on the receiving end of a company that goes «Above and Beyond» was really refreshing. 100% recommend!

These guys were fantastic! I hired them to pack and move and I couldn’t have found a better company or crew to do that for me. I’ve moved cross-​country twice so very familiar with moving companies and what to expect. My last cross-​country move was a bit rough so was pleasantly surprised with how professional My Guys were!
First, they were on time!!! Even better, they’re rates are by the quarter hour so you don’t have worry about paying for a full hour if unecessary. They’re packing skills were impeccable. On packing day they were in and out of my 3 story townhome in 3 hrs.
The next day was move day. Again, they arrived on time! We were done by early afternoon. These guys are professional, polite, and super quick. They were also super helpful! They were willing to help me move my furniture if needed at the end of the move.
When the time came to unpacked my items in my new home, everything was in tact (a rarity for most companies).
Their quote/​estimate was spot on and I was pleasantly surprised that we came in below the total estimate. That’s how awesome these movers are. They’re not going to putz around to get the extra hours in and gouge you for more $$. Professionals.

Terrific service, I mean, really terrific.
Moving from Winchester to Manassas doesn’t seem like a big deal, but when you’re as young as I am, you want your move to go without any hitches, and in this case, that’s what happened.
I went with these guys as I had heard on radio ads that they were very reliable and other people said that they had good experiences with them. I called them up and was set up with Tony Wilson (great job!) and asked him for a quote, he literally took inventory of everything I told him, he gave me a fair estimate (5 hours of work), and within a week, I decided to go with My Guys. Everything so far was promising.
I then started to hear horror stories of other movers. Movers that have things missing, break things, get to the place late, and movers that are unprofessional. I got nervous again. Hopefully these guys would be true to their word. Not to mention I received my work order in an email, so that was encouraging with the follow through.
Two days before my move, I called My Guys to confirm that they were still coming. They said yes, and reassured me that I was on the schedule, and that I would receive another call later today or the next day to confirm everything. That put me at ease for a bit.
The next day, one day before the move, I received a call in the morning confirming 2 guys were coming. They said they’d try to get there as early as possible (I recommended a 8 – 9 am start time). Already I was feeling better.
Then came the big day. I was up early, anticipating their arrival. Most, if not all my items were packed and ready to go. I called My Guys one more time after 8 am to confirm the 2 guys were on their way. I was reassured again that 2 guys were on the way, that they left at 7:30 am to head to my place in Winchester (they were coming from Sterling, which is a little over an hour east of Winchester).
At 8:53 am, Jose and Alex, the 2 «guys» arrived. On time, yes, waiting out front. I met them, shook their hands, they looked around, and said they’d take about an hour to get the job done. Throughout the move out process they handled my stuff with care, they were polite, and they were extremely accommodating. By 10:30, my Winchester apartment was completely vacant and I was ready to head to Manassas.
Upon arrival to Manassas at close to noon, I found they had gotten there first (I got stuck in a detour). They even called me to confirm they were at the location! Once I got there they got to work once again, unloading the truck with care and efficiency. They set the apartment up to my liking, and got everything done fairly quickly. By 1:00, they were finished and everything was there. Nothing was lost, broken, or in shabby shape. They even were on par with the time that was allotted! (5 hours).
I couldn’t have asked for a better moving company to get me on the fast track to another place. They were truly spectacular and they lived up to their name. Even my parents were thrilled with the results! They were polite to them too, and got everything and did everything with expert precision and effectiveness. I highly recommend these movers to anybody who needs a move, as they definitely eliminate many of the stresses of the move, and make for it to be as stress-​free as you can get it.

My wife and I utilized My Guys Moving & Storage at the end of October 2014. We had a ton of stuff crammed into our 700sqft apartment, and moved into a purchased townhome.
The crew they sent us consisted of three guys. They were early, polite, careful, and quick.
I would recommend this organization to anyone who is looking for a cost efficient moving company that takes care of your possessions, and does not add any stress to an already stressful moving process

The staff from start to finish were awesome and answered any questions we had. I liked that we got a call a day or so before the move to confirm everything was still in order.
The moving crew got to our house early so they can finish early which was great. We ran into a little snag that our storage unit wasn’t open until 11 for us to get our unit and the crew had to wait 45 mins. They were really nice and patient about it since it was out of our hands.
The moving crew i would say was amazing! They filled up our storage unit so neatly and got all our stuff in there. I dunno how they did it but they were amazing on how they knew to stack the boxes and furniture.
I would use them again in a heart beat!

Having recently left my 20s, my wife and I decided we were finally grown up enough and accumulated enough heavy objects that we’d need to hire a professional moving company. It was quite the family fight as I didn’t want to spend a few hundred dollars and I’ve moved so many of my damn friends… but anyways I digress…
Glad we did it in the end! Some of the best money I’ve spent. Moving is stressful enough and having just bought our first home, we were exhausted from packing everything up. We moved a few of the most fragile (china, plates, vases) ourselves. Overall pretty uneventful (which I think is what you want), they came and moved everything, nothing broke, it didn’t take long and were respectable with our possessions.
